Chapter 470 You Know Where My Daddy Reads?

Chapter 470 You Know Where My Daddy Reads?

It was Friday, and Clarissa didn’t have any classes. She stayed at home, doing research for her paper.

Someone knocked on the door, and she opened it.

“Neil?” She was both surprised and elated to see him.

When Neil saw her, he immediately hugged her. There was a hint of longing in his eyes, and Clarissa’s

heart melted at the sight of him.

She bent down and pressed her forehead to his, tears welling up in her eyes. She held them back.

Clarissa hadn’t been too bothered throughout the three years she had been apart from him, but she

couldn’t let him go now that she had the chance to meet him. This was why she had agreed to watch

him when Damien had asked, despite her reservations.

“Neil, where’s your daddy?”

She was terrified that Neil would end up in a blind spot neither she nor Damien could see.

“He dropped me off at the corner of the staircase before going back downstairs,” Neil said.

“Oh, that’s good.” She glanced at the staircase. There was no sign of Damien.

Perhaps he was afraid she would turn him down if he were around, which was why he left after

dropping Neil off.

Neil noticed there was a huge bookshelf when he stepped into the room.

“Neil, do you want to eat anything? Or would you like to read a book?” Clarissa had never truly spent

time with children, so she didn’t really know what to do.

“Wow, pretty lady! You must be rich. You have a ton of books!” Neil exclaimed.

Clarissa laughed. “Yeah. Does your daddy still read all the time?”

He cocked his head. “You know about that?”

She felt a little awkward. “Just a little.”

“Daddy still loves to read on the sofa, but I don’t know what he does in bed.” He added, “I don’t sleep in

the same bed as him. Pretty lady, since you know he loves reading, do you know where he reads?”

“You…” Clarissa didn’t expect a kid to pull something like this on her.

“On the sofa, as you said,” she finally said.

“Oh. He loves reading.” Neil seemed to be disappointed.

“You can pick out any book you want to read, okay? Let me know if there’s anything you can’t reach.

Oh, is there anything you want to eat?” Clarissa was under the impression that all kids loved snacks.

She was trying her best to play the role of a mother to make up for the three years she had been

absent.

“Hmm… I want to eat custard tarts. Daddy’s never made them for me, and the housekeeper isn’t

allowed to make them either. He said they’re too high in calories and not good for kids.” Neil looked

aggrieved. “Do you know how to make them?”

“Custard tarts are really easy to make. Your daddy’s much too strict with you.” She went to rummage

around the fridge.

Unfortunately, she basically didn’t eat at home, so she didn’t realize that she was out of eggs. What’s

more, she didn’t have any crust pastry.

These were sold in the university’s supermarket. Clarissa thought of bringing Neil with her to the

supermarket to get some, but there were familiar faces all over campus. Rumors would fly if they were

to see her bringing an honorary professor’s son around. Wouldn’t she just be asking for trouble?

She sent Lisa a WhatsApp message.

Clarissa: [Do you have any classes in the afternoon? If not, please help me buy some custard tart crust

pastries and eggs from the supermarket.]

Lisa: [Sure. Who are you making custard tarts for, Miss?]

Clarissa: [A kid.]

Clarissa got a book from the bookshelf and read it to Neil as they sat on the sofa. As she listened to his

breathing and looked at his face, her heart was filled with love for him.

She couldn’t help stroking his face before continuing to read the book.

The doorbell rang. Clarissa thought that it was Lisa, so she told Neil, “I’ll go get the door.”

“Okay.” All content is © N0velDrama.Org.

The moment she opened the door, however, she saw Peter standing there.

“Uncle Peter?” She was surprised.
