Chapter 477 Your Mom’s Really Stupid

Chapter 477 Your Mom’s Really Stupid

Clarissa suddenly recalled she had asked Lisa not to be late the other day. Maybe Neil had heard her.

Otherwise, how could it have been so coincidental?

She looked at Neil through the rearview and said, “You’re a clever one, aren’t you?”

He laughed sweetly. “Thanks, Mommy.”

“What for?”

“You praised me for being smart!”

Clarissa was speechless.

She laughed as well. It was great to have a son. He brought her so much joy.

How could she have been so cruel in the past? Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

“Miss Johnson, your son’s really smart. He’s just like you,” Lisa said. She really did like Neil.

“I’m not smart at all. In fact, I’m really dumb,” Clarissa said.

“I’m like my dad, then.” Neil asked, “Right, Daddy?”

“Yeah, don’t be like your mother. She really is pretty dumb,” Damien said.

Clarissa was rendered speechless. She had no choice but to change the topic, and said to Lisa and

Rem, “The speakers for this summit are all international big shots, and there’s going to be a livestream

as well. You can record the livestream if you come across anything important so you can apply it in

your dissertation in the future.”

“Okay.” It was obvious they weren’t paying attention, though.

The short conversation between Damien, Clarissa, and Neil made it clear to them that Neil truly was

Clarissa’s son.

But Clarissa was so young. When did she have him?

When they passed by somewhere, Clarissa kept looking backward. Hadn’t there been a gas station

there?

“The gas station was demolished two years ago. How long have you been away from Genovia?”

Damien’s voice rang out.

Lisa and Rem took this to mean that Clarissa had returned to Genovia frequently in the past.

Clarissa, on the other hand, didn’t even know how he had known what she had been looking at when

his eyes had been on the road the whole time.

“It hasn’t been that long. I came back to see Lily some time ago, but I took the bus,” she said.

“Did you see her son?”

“Yeah, I did. But don’t you already know that?”

After that, she started catching up on some sleep.

She could vaguely hear the others chatting.

“Professor Lawrence, I didn’t know you and Miss Johnson were a couple. It’s no wonder she didn’t say

yes to Caleb.”

Damien scoffed. “It’s not like she’d have the guts to say yes.”

“Right, Professor Lawrence. I heard that your grandfather was Professor Dennis Lawrence. Is that

true?”

“Yeah.”

“Your family and the University of Florin have a history, then. I bet that’s why Miss Johnson came here,

huh?” Lisa tried to ease the atmosphere when she saw that Clarissa was asleep.

Damien glanced at Clarissa. “You’ll have to ask her about that.”

“It has to be,” Lisa said firmly.

They soon arrived at Pentagon Hotel. It was only just past twelve in the afternoon.

The three of them got out of the car.

“Mommy, will you come home after your meeting?” Neil looked at Clarissa, reluctant for her to leave.

Damien didn’t say anything.

“Uh, I still have these two with me, and we don’t have that much time.”

“That’s fine. They can come along with you! It’ll be fun!”

“We really want to see your home, Miss Johnson,” Lisa and Rem chorused.

“Well, okay.” Clarissa didn’t have any choice but to agree.

Damien then left. On his way home, Ray called him.

“I’m attending the financial summit later, and I won’t be able to answer any calls. Call my assistant if

you need anything,” he said.

“You’re going to the summit too?”

“Too? Are you going as well? When have you been part of the financial circle?” Ray teased.

“Clarissa’s the one attending. She just stepped into the hotel.”

“What do you mean by that? Do you want me to give you a live broadcast of Clarissa? You don’t need

me for that. The summit has an official livestream that you can watch.”

“Send me the link.”

Ray clamped shut, at loss for words.

He thought Damien was joking!
