Chapter 485 I’ll need something back

Chapter 485 I’ll need something back

Right after Clarissa lay on the bed, Damien moved to kiss her on the lips.

His kiss was so intense, Clarissa ended up gasping for air.

“Are you forcing me?” he asked.

“No, it’s just really hard to look into that person,” Clarissa said. She couldn’t even find out where Iris

was living, so it was even more impossible for her to know exactly who was sniffing into her hospital

records.

“Why were you in that man’s arms?” Damien demanded “You shouldn’t make me worry so much.”

Clarissa rarely allowed anyone to break her personal space and hug her, so she knew immediately

what Damien was talking about.

“I had depression. Didn’t you already know that?” Clarissa said, anguished. “I was missing Neil so

badly, but he doesn’t even know who I am! I wanted to get my Master's degree, but it was really

challenging for me to do everything alone in a foreign country. Everything was hard, but then he

appeared and offered me help. He was my only friend and support at that time.”

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she blurted out everything.

She used to think that there were infinite possibilities waiting for her in the future, but right after she

returned, she met Damien. Maybe it was true no matter how many people or years went by, you would

eventually get back to the person you were destined to be with.

Damien was completely silent. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

“Then, why did you have to leave…?” He felt hurt and angry at the same time; angry that he wasn’t by

her side when she went through so much pain.

“I had to. I can’t rely on you forever. I needed time to move on from my mom’s death. Plus, with what

happened to Lucy… Everything was just so overwhelming.” Clarissa burst out in tears, crying.

“Now you’re bringing in Madelynn and Lucy’s deaths?” Damien snapped.

“Why ask when you already know the answer? I feel like I’m sleeping next to a cold-blooded human

every day! I risk being killed at any time! Who knows, you might cover things up and tell everyone that

I’m the one who took my own life.”

“Stop crying! Just…just sleep.” Damien was irritated beyond anything.

Everything he did was for her, but all she did was complain.

How could he not be angry?

He spent the night hugging Clarissa by the waist. “You don’t know everything.”

Clarissa, however, closed her eyes and stayed silent, not bothering to respond.

On the second day, Clarissa woke up feeling a slight coldness in her nether regions.

Lifting her head up, she saw Damien sitting at the end of the bed and staring at her.

She flinched instinctively, anger and embarrassment welling up within her.

The blanket was only covering her upper body, and her lower body was completely exposed to him.

“What’s there to be shy about?” Damien looked at Clarissa.

“What are you doing?!” Clarissa demanded.

“Applying the medicine for you.”

“No need for that!” Clarissa snarled, furious. “Just help me look into that person!”

”What?” Damien covered her with a blanket.

“I can’t do it on my own.”

Damien chuckled, but said nothing.

“So? Are you going to or not?”

“I’m not doing this for charity.” He looked meaningfully at Clarissa. It was obvious he was hinting at

something.

Clarissa bit her lower lip, annoyed. “What do you want?”

“What I want?” Damien repeated. “You know exactly what I want.”

Clarissa cocked her head to the side. “Just remember to notify me when you have the results.”

“I’ll need something in return. Anyway, I’m done with the medicine.” After that, Damien went downstairs.
