Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 426

Chapter 426 A Young Adult’s Love Life Although Mrs. Faber was working as a maid at the Lawrence

household, Caleb was actually unaware of anything that was happening in their lives. Even though Mrs.

Faber had been working there for so many years, the only thing that Caleb knew was Damien’s name,

since Damien had gifted him a pair of sports shoes once. Mrs. Faber wasn’t the type to gossip and

Caleb wasn’t the type to pry into other people’s business, so Caleb was still in the dark of all the trouble

that was about to ensue. Soon, Caleb left the house.

While Ray was preparing dinner in the kitchen, Damien was sitting on the sofa while reading a book

Neil approached Damien and gave him a painting. “Daddy, Caleb drew this.” “What is the drawing

about?” “I don’t know. He crumpled the paper halfway through.” Damien looked at the drawing. It

seemed like a woman’s hair to him. If Damien were to guess, the person Caleb was trying to draw was

his crush.

Damien chuckled. Caleb must be so in love that his thoughts were formed on the canvas.

Damien had never experienced a love so innocent and gradually developing. Based on his previous

experiences, he didn’t even get to know his partners before having sex with them. That was why he

couldn’t understand the reason Caleb was so obsessed with his crush.

Looking at Caleb, Damien had a strong desire to fall in love again.

The next day was a Wednesday, and Clarissa’s last class was about finance and accounting.

After spending his entire morning outside, Caleb bought a pair of small bear plushies from the

supermarket. One was a big bear, the other a tinier bear.

At first, he only thought about giving Neil the tiny bear. However, he was reminded of Clarissa the

moment he set eyes on the big one. She was just like the bear, lovable but still oblivious of the power

she had on him.

He rushed to class. The moment he set foot inside the lecture hall, Clarissa’s lecture was about to start.

Caleb placed the big bear at the front desk. Then, the bell rang just as he finished writing the

note.

When Clarissa walked to her table, the plushie caught her eye. From the looks of it, it seemed to be of Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

pretty good quality. She was about to ask whose plushie it was when she saw the note just beneath the

bear. It said, ‘I bought this using my hard-earned money. Please take it!

Looking at the note, Clarissa knew exactly who was the one that left the plushie on the table.

However, she didn’t make a fuss about it and continued on with class.

During recess, she called Caleb to the front desk

At first, she had planned to call her mentees, Lisa and Rem, to the front for a briefing.

Since the topics for their thesis had been confirmed, she was about to assign the respective tasks to

them.

However, she decided to resolve the issue with Caleb for now. It seemed she had no choice but to wait

until the next day to talk to Lisa and Rem.

“You! Get over here!” Clarissa ordered. With his bag on his shoulder, Caleb walked toward the front

desk. At this moment, there was nobody in the classroom except him and Clarissa.

“I can’t keep this. Take it away,” Clarissa said, her voice firm.

“I don’t want to keep something that doesn’t belong to me. If you don’t want it, just throw it away,” Caleb

said.

Clarissa held the bear in her hand while walking toward the rubbish bin at the back of the classroom to

throw it away.

“The plushie’s around 588 dollars. It is the fruit of my efforts from working part-time every day. I’ve

worked hard every day just to buy you the plushie. If you really hate me, just get rid of it!” After that

exclamation, Caleb turned and walked away.

Clarissa was left alone in the lecture hall. Having heard Caleb’s words, she couldn’t bring herself to

throw away the plushie anymore. As a teacher, she found it ridiculous that this was what she deserved

for treating his students with respect Noticing that Clarissa didn’t throw it away, Caleb smiled. “If you

feel bad about throwing it away, then just keep it. I’ll be leaving now. See you around!”

Then, Caleb swung his bag on his shoulder and left with his basketball on his hand.

Clarissa was deeply agitated. After having a simple dinner, she returned to her small apartment.

She placed the bear in her study, not thinking too much about it.

After all, she had more important things to worry about. This evening, she had to give a speech at the

orientation for the new intakes.

She had spent the entire night completing her article, and thought of napping in the afternoon just so

she wouldn’t feel tired in the evening.

However, she couldn’t hear the alarm ringing and ended up oversleeping. If she was late to the event,

she would be an utter embarrassment. After all, the orientation involved all the teachers and students in

the university. Clarissa didn’t want to have her reputation tarnished at the start of her career. So, she

grabbed her speech notes and rushed toward the hall as fast as she could.

There was quite a distance between Marble Garden and the hall, with each location located at

the the furthest east and west. It would take at least fifteen minutes to reach there by foot.

While Clarissa was in a pinch, a bicycle appeared next to her.

“Clarissa! I mean, Miss Johnson!” Someone shouted beside her ear.

Clarissa turned around, and saw Caleb riding a motorbike. He picked up his pace beside her. Noticing

that Clarissa was about to be late, he became delighted. “Hop on!” he offered. “It’s fine.” Clarissa didn’t

slow down the slightest, though her forehead was gilded with a layer of sweat. “Are you sure?” Caleb

rushed in front of her and braked just in time. With her way being barred, Clarissa couldn’t move an

inch. She had a strong urge to curse at Caleb, but her profession as a teacher denied her from being

so blatantly crass.
