Love Of Wind And Clouds

Chapter 22

The cold night gradually fell, the street lights were scattered, and the wind was rustling, cold to her core.

The sound of passersby whispering rang in Nancy’s ears and she thought Nathan was talking and laughing with her.

Memories of the past kept coming back to her, making her feel sad, tears falling from her eyes.

After many years, this was the first time she couldn’t control herself and burst into tears. She felt like she was jealous of that woman.

From a distance, Stephen looked at Nancy through the car window. He waited all afternoon but didn’t see her return, so he went looking for her and followed her all the way here, watching her wandering on the street like a soulless person.

Now suddenly she cried like rain, making him unable to bear it, he drove over and quickly got out of the car.

“Deputy general director.”

As soon as Nancy finished speaking, Stephen wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly. She felt sorry for herself and cried even harder.

A few couples passed by, saw them and immediately pointed at them and whispered.

Stephen didn’t know what made her cry, but he felt his heart sobbing along with her sobs.

He patiently waited for her to calm down before driving her home.

“Mr. Stephen, thank you for today and the previous day.” She got out of the car and spoke in a low voice.

“Nancy, if you don’t mind, consider me your friend.”

Nancy looked at Stephen, nodded slightly, and signaled for him to go home.

Waiting for the car to completely disappear, she turned to face the gate. Just as she fumbled to put the key into the lock, a hand reached out and grabbed her hand tightly.

“Mr. Dylan, in the future, don’t come here again.” Nancy spoke tiredly.Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

“Why?”

“I like being alone, except when I have to go out to work, I just want to be alone. Thank you for being with me recently.”

“What is your relationship with Stephen?”

Hearing Dylan’s question, Nancy was extremely confused. His deep eyes were like stray stars shining straight at her.

“Are friends.” She replied briefly.

“Only that?”

“Right. I have to go inside the house, goodbye.”

Dylan stood still, watching as Nancy’s figure disappeared behind the gate and then appeared in the first-floor window.

Through the gap in the curtain, she raised her eyes to look down and when she saw him still standing there, she reached out and pulled the curtain closed.

She does not want to have any relationship above the level of friendship with the upper class.

Even though Dylan said he was an assistant, she saw that his body was covered in branded goods, including Rolex watches, and diamond rings, and even the shirts he wore were from famous brands.

She didn’t want to cling to the crane’s leg and then fall again.

Nancy is smart enough to realize that there is a reason for the care and kindness that Dylan gives her, so she wants to quickly extinguish the newly ignited fire of love in the man’s heart.

Dylan waited until the lights went out before getting into the car. His bones ached again.

His hand quickly reached for the bottle of painkillers. The doctor warned him not to let himself get too cold.

Raising his hand to gently caress the image of the schoolgirl with her hair braided on both sides, always kept in his wallet, his heart was filled with nostalgia. Even when he was next to her, he still missed her very much.

“Nancy, for me to live well, I will make you come back to me at all costs.” He trembled and spoke.

The night ends, morning comes again, and a new day begins. The phone rings continuously.

Not only the editorial department, but other departments are also busy because the end of the year is a sprint time.

Seeing the phone on the desk vibrating slightly, Nancy quickly picked it up.

“Mr. Lyle.”

“Come to my office for a moment.”

“Yes.”

After the response, Nancy quickly ran out of the editing room and headed towards the elevator.

As soon as she pressed the open button, she encountered Wynn. She bowed slightly and walked in.

“Eighth floor?” He asked.

“Right.” She answered.

When they arrived at the deputy general director’s office, both of them entered at the same time.

Wynn came and sat on the sofa, reached out, and poured a cup of hot tea, taking a sip.

“Please write a script based on these two short stories.” Lyle said as he handed the document to Nancy.

“The movie premieres on New Year’s, right?” She asked softly.

“Right. I thought about it again and again and still thought I should give it to you.”

“You can rest assured. I’ll try.”

Nancy happily accepted the mission and said goodbye to both Lyle and Wynn and left the room.

Waiting for her to leave, Lyle came and sat opposite Wynn. Looking at his younger brother’s half-angry, half-frustrated face, he just smiled slightly and asked softly.

“What do you need?”

“Big brother, you want me to be angry to death, right? There are so many people but you don’t choose, why does it have to be that person?” Wynn was angry.

“This is a job, you should distinguish between public and private.”

“I don’t understand, after all the things she did, can you still be normal? Mr. Dylan…”

“You promised not to mention this again.” Lyle said seriously.

“Just this once, tell her to stay away from me.” Wynn said angrily and ran out.

Since joining Global Corporation, Wynn has always stayed at the dormitory for interns because Lyle wouldn’t let him go home and confiscated the key.

He had to rush into the office to talk to his brother because when he called and just said a few words, his brother said he was busy and hung up.

Just returning from the deputy general director’s office to the editing room, Nancy saw a bouquet of bright roses placed on her desk, accompanied by a card with Stephen’s name on it.
