Chapter 48
Nancy returned to her seat and gave the two planks to the other couple. She thought she was about to go to heaven. She was indescribably happy.
Next is the handkerchief drop game, but Edana gives a strange rule. Normally, the person whose handkerchief is dropped behind their back must hold the handkerchief and chase away the person who dropped the handkerchief, but she stipulates that they must chase the person sitting on their right, and the person who was caught had to be punished by kissing the person who caught them.
When people wondered, she explained that she should change the game to make it different.
And Edana showed off her arranging talent again. She forced men and women to sit alternately. Nancy sat right to Dylan’s right, Daria sat to his left, and Stephen sat in the opposite half of the circle.
Paul was a good guy and volunteered to be the first to drop the handkerchief. He walked back and forth and then dropped the handkerchief right behind Dylan.
Nancy guessed that he and his boss had shaken hands, so she was extremely cautious. As soon as the handkerchief touched the ground, she quickly stood up and ran away as quickly as possible.
Dylan’s legs were much longer than hers. Seeing that he was almost chasing her, she panicked, ran wildly, and rushed into the woods in front of her.
Everyone looked at them in amazement.
Donna saw that the president had already set his sights on Nancy, but she no longer felt that Nancy was pitiful, because this buffalo looked very stylish and handsome, not that old.
Nancy ran for a while and was so tired that she couldn’t continue running. Seeing a shadow in a white shirt chasing her, she quickly climbed up the tree and hid in the foliage.
Dylan walked back and forth for a while, then finally looked up. When he saw her sitting on a high branch, he panicked.
“What are you doing up there? Come down here quickly.”
“No. If you go away, I’ll come down.” Nancy shook her head vigorously.
“I won’t arrest you. Now we go back to break up the game so everyone can rest and attend the dinner party.”
“Really?”
“Right.” He said as he threw the handkerchief on the ground.
Taking a deep breath, Nancy slowly climbed down the tree. Just now, she was climbing as quickly as a monkey, but now she’s afraid of heights.
As soon as her feet touched the ground, her whole body trembled. Dylan also breathed a sigh of relief.
“Are you afraid of kissing me?”
“You think I want to kiss you, huh?”
“Just now when we were playing tug of war…”
“It was an accident, it doesn’t mean anything.”
After saying that, Nancy quickly ran away. Outside, Edana had broken up the game, everyone was eager to go back to shower and prepare for the dance party in the evening.
Stephen stood looking toward the forest for a while then quietly returned to his room. Daria saw his appearance and felt sad.
But if she had to choose who to support, she would support Dylan because, for her, Stephen has many opportunities, while Dylan does not. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
If Dylan misses this girl, she’s afraid his whole life will forever be stuck in that tragic past.
The dance party took place in a sparkling space filled with electric light. Beautiful, radiant girls in colorful dresses slowly entered.
Everyone heard rumors that they would draw lots to find a dance partner, so they were all excited because they didn’t know who they would pair up with.
All female employees are afraid to dance with the president because they’re worried that if they step on his toes, they’ll be miserable.
However, they didn’t need to draw lots because the couples’ names were already written on the piece of paper and Edana just needed to read it out.
When she read the names of two people, those two people proactively came forward, held hands, and stood aside.
The reason given was that the organizers had already drawn lots for everyone, so they wrote down the names of the employees on paper to read quickly.
Nancy hadn’t heard Edana read her name yet, but she had already guessed the outcome, which probably everyone could have guessed, not just her. She was the sacrificial victim.
When Edana finished reading the paper, there was no one standing there anymore, only the two of them were left, so Dylan quickly walked over, grabbed Nancy’s hand, and pulled her away, helping Edana relax her mouth.
Looking at her embarrassed face, he couldn’t help but laugh.
“What’s up? You’re not happy, huh?” Dylan asked.
“I feel there is an agreement about the draw results.” Nancy replied.
The music started, and each couple hugged each other and began to dance.
Nancy didn’t dare look at Dylan’s face. This man is normally already poison to women, but now that he’s dressed like this, he’s become extremely poisonous.
“You dance very well.”
“Of course, do you think I come from the countryside and don’t know anything? If you want clean vegetables, you’re looking for the wrong person.”
“It’s okay. I prefer vegetables sprayed with growth chemicals.”
Nancy could only stay silent when she heard Dylan speak. This man seems to be able to say whatever he wants.
When the music slowed down, Dylan’s hand suddenly tightened around her waist and pulled her closer, he leaned down to whisper in her ear.
“You are very beautiful.”
She got goosebumps when she heard what he said. Luckily at this time everyone simultaneously changed partners. Stephen let go of Daria’s hand and called out.
“Dylan.”
Falling into Stephen’s arms, Nancy felt much more secure, showing off all her dancing abilities, no longer awkward.
The fun party continued until late at night. The next day, people went shopping and walked around freely, and in the afternoon they returned to the city.
As for Dylan, he returned to the city last night when he received news that Camila had to be hospitalized because of high blood pressure.
