Chapter 6
Nancy leaned her back against the wall and sighed. If she had known this outcome, she would not have left him, she would have stayed by his side and held his hand through the storm.
Maybe both of them will just be ordinary employees in some company, or open a wholesale store together, or maybe they will take each other to the countryside and raise livestock and crops.
After leaving Nathan’s house, Nancy left behind the magnificent city and went to the mountains to live with her friend Jolie and her husband.
Jolie only finished high school, then quit school and went to work to support her boyfriend’s education.
However, the salary of a new graduate like Mason was not enough to take care of Jolie and their children, so the whole family decided to return to their hometown to continue their parents’ farming career.
Four years in the peaceful and quiet mountains somewhat eased the pain in Nancy’s heart, but the sadness remained forever.
On the other side of the wall, Dylan was also leaning back and looking at the sky and sea.
The white waves ran in and out, the lights of the train flickering in the distance were returning.
Dylan raised the glass of wine to his lips and drank it all. He doesn’t know when he became an alcoholic. If he wasn’t drunk, he wouldn’t be able to sleep peacefully.
The cold of winter made his whole body extremely sore, and the wound in his heart was even more painful.
It was just dawn, Nancy, Lyle, and Kent quickly left the hotel. Kent yawned continuously and after getting in the car, he continued to snore.
He said that except when he has to film, waking up early is torture for him.
Nancy looked at his appearance in the rearview mirror and couldn’t help laughing. He eats a lot and sleeps a lot, so it’s natural for him to be fat.
“Mr. Lyle, please give me leave tomorrow.” Nancy turned to Lyle and said.
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Tomorrow is my mother’s death anniversary.”
“Okay, let me take you there.”
As soon as Lyle finished speaking, the phone rang. The phone number displayed on the screen belongs to his assistant, Mina.
“I’m listening.”
‘Mr. Lyle, when are you coming back? The partner requests to meet with you to come up with design ideas for jewelry to accompany their upcoming collection.” Mina’s voice is very urgent.
“I’m on my way back.”
“Then I’ll make an appointment to meet them tomorrow.”
Hearing Mina arrange the schedule, Lyle immediately turned to Nancy, she smiled and signaled him to accept.
“Okay, make an appointment and let me know the time.”
Lyle reached out to turn off the phone and looked at Nancy apologetically. He had just opened his mouth to say he would take her back to visit her mother’s grave when something unexpected happened.
“I’m sorry.” Lyle spoke hesitantly.
“It’s okay. I like taking the bus better.” Nancy happily replied.
“Are you criticizing my car?”
“No, if you give me the wheel, I’ll sell it and make a lot of money.”
After hearing what she said, Lyle couldn’t help but laugh. This girl is as funny as Stephen.
The car continued to speed along the road, the blue sea gradually disappeared, and behind Nancy was the sound of Kent’s steady breathing.
The phone ringing woke up Dylan. Yesterday he drank almost a bottle of wine so his head is still spinning. As soon as he got out of bed, he was dizzy and fell. He looked extremely pathetic.
Paul waited for a long time but didn’t see Dylan appear, so he was extremely worried, his heart wanted to jump out of his chest.
The day he was accepted as Dylan’s assistant, Dylan’s mother entrusted her son to his care. In addition to the monthly salary he received at the company, he also pocketed an additional amount of money from his boss’s mother, so he felt his responsibilities increased with those green and red bills.
As if it had become a habit, Dylan quickly showered and changed clothes. The appearance when he appeared at the door was very handsome and neat, very different from the shabby image just now.
“Where are they?”
“Yes, boss, I just discovered that they were staying in the same hotel as us, that girl shared the same wall as your room, but early this morning they returned to the city.”
“Why so quickly?”
“Yes, they are excellent employees, they work faster than others, that’s why everyone lets them go together, finish work early and return early.”
Dylan sighed, his face showing slight disappointment. He wondered why he kept passing by her like that. Maybe it’s because he and she no longer have a chance to be together.
At this time, on the eighth floor of Global Group, Stephen put his hands in his pockets and eyes glued to the main gate. The sunlight passing through the glass window adorned his handsome face.
He was so frustrated that he couldn’t stand it anymore. Why did two high-ranking figures of Global Group disappear, leaving him alone in this busy workplace?
Dylan threw him a power of attorney and then threw him a bunch of documents.
He signed so diligently that he could no longer feel his two fingers and it seemed like his fingerprints were completely worn off. Fortunately, he did not have to put his finger on the timekeeper.
Seeing Lyle’s car drive into the gate, Stephen immediately followed. When he saw three people coming out of the car, two men and one woman, he quickly closed the curtain and waited for a while.
When Stephen guessed that Lyle had reached the fifth floor, he began to leave. The elevator door had just opened when two handsome guys faced each other.
“Is Mr. Lyle back from the outing?”
“What are you talking about? I go to work.”
Stephen paced back and forth, clutching his chin, watching Lyle.
“You don’t have to do things like this yourself, you should stay here and help me.”Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“What’s wrong with you? A general director and a deputy general director but can’t handle the work in time? Still have to wait for me?”
“There is no general manager, from morning until now I have been dancing with fire by myself. Our President remembered you so he followed in your footsteps and went to province C.”
“Is Dylan gone?” Lyle was surprised.
“That’s right, from yesterday. He said he was interested in the Sunny House project.”
