Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia)

Chapter 270

Chapter 270

Rachel's eyes flickered with irritation.

What was Juliana doing here with Abbey?

Despite her annoyance, she spoke up, "Look, Juliana's brought Ms. Robinson over. Sis-in-law, that's Ms. Robinson herself. Why don't we send Lia over to charm her a bit? It'll make chatting with Bill later much easier!"

She could barely contain her smirk, eagerly anticipating Cordelia's embarrassment. Cordelia, with her typically frosty demeanor, charming someone? Rachel could hardly wait to see her stumble through a half-hearted greeting or, even better, watch Abbey publicly scold her. Such a scene would certainly elevate Juliana's standing in the eyes of the Foster family.

Rachel basked in the cunning of her plan, while Lorna frowned in disapproval. The idea of sending Everard to apologize was already a tough pill to swallow for her and Sanderson, let alone their darling daughter, Cordelia. Just as Lorna was about to whisk Cordelia away, Abbey's eyes lit up upon spotting her and she rushed over, exclaiming, "Lia! There you are, I've been looking everywhere for you!"

Abbey's enthusiastic approach and flattering tone left the onlookers stunned. It dawned on Lorna that Abbey was, in fact, Bill's sister! After witnessing Abbey's behavior towards her daughter at Mrs. Collins' garden party, where did Rachel get the idea that Abbey was so hard to please?

Rachel was dumbfounded, her eyes flicking incredulously between Juliana and Abbey. Juliana's brow furrowed. She had been enjoying a pleasant chat with Abbey, who, for some unknown reason, insisted on coming over here. Now, it seemed Abbey was here for Cordelia. Their close, friendly interaction made it clear they were more than acquaintances, much to Juliana's chagrin.

Meanwhile, Belinda and others who were keeping a close eye on Abbey shared her astonishment. Cordelia Delaney, known for her aloof nature and poor social skills, was actually close with Abbey? Earlier, it seemed as though Juliana was the one trying to win Abbey over, who responded with courteous detachment. But now, it was Abbey initiating conversation with a cool and occasionally responsive Cordelia. Impossible!

"Lia, your cousin is so annoying, kept babbling in my ear, making it impossible for me to find you! She even bragged about her piano skills, so I told her I reached that level in elementary school, and her face just dropped. Hilarious! Honestly, Lia, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't bother feigning interest. Trying to impress me without flattery, yet acting all high and mighty - who does she think she's fooling?"

Cordelia remained silent, recalling the previous night at Mrs. Collins' party where she thought Hayley was too ingratiating. So, too much flattery is frowned upon, but so is too little? Abbey, however, didn't see herself as hard to please. In her eyes, as long as someone was attractive, their actions were always acceptable. If there was anyone to blame, it was Juliana for not being pretty enough.

Rachel, noticing Abbey and Cordelia whispering among themselves, signaled Juliana. Juliana promptly approached, suggesting, "Ms. Robinson, how about we take a stroll in the backyard garden?"

Abbey glanced at Cordelia, hesitant to entertain Juliana but also not wanting to embarrass Lia. "Lia, are you coming?"

Cordelia, waiting for Everard, shook her head, leading Abbey to decline Juliana's offer, "I'll stay!"

Juliana, undeterred, took a seat next to Abbey, attempting to start a conversation. Abbey, slightly annoyed, muttered to Cordelia, "Your sister's a bit bothersome, isn't she?"

Juliana, overhearing this, blushed with embarrassment and frustration. While she struggled to engage Abbey, the latter was effortlessly chatting with Cordelia, who responded with occasional nods or monosyllables.

“I like guys who are handsome and a bit wild. What about you, Lia? What's your type?”

Before Cordelia could reply, Abbey continued, “I know, you like your boyfriend's type! Tell me, how did you two meet? Is he hard to get along with?" Cordelia was about to defend Everard as approachable when Juliana interrupted, "Sis, how can you be so cold to Ms. Robinson?"

Cordelia and Abbey turned towards her, both puzzled by the interruption. Abbey suddenly reconsidered her initial tolerance for Juliana, realizing she might have been too quick to judgeBased on Lia's connection. At that moment, it dawned on her that the relationship between Lia and Juliana wasn't as smooth as she had thought.

Especially now, as Juliana stood up, her voice raised in accusation, drawing the eyes of everyone

around them. It was as if Cordelia had personally offended her. It was clear Juliana was doing this on

purpose. Given Ms. One

haughty nature, she wouldn't toferate being second to anyone. Cordelia ignoring her would usually slide off Ms. Robinson like water off a duck's back. But now, with the situation blown wide open, Ms. Robinson's pride was at stake, and she was bound to be furious!

As everyone's attention turned towards the commotion, Belinda, watching from a distance, breathed a sigh of relief, thinking, "With Cordelia's personality, how could she ever be in Ms. Robinson's good graces?" Especially since Bill and Cordelia's boyfriend were arch-enemies, it was even less likely for Ms. Robinson to associate with Cordelia. Belinda couldn't help but smirk, thinking that any interaction Ms. Robinson had with Cordelia was probably meant to humiliate her.

Juliana's loud accusation also caught the attention of Lorna and Rachel. Rachel quickly approached, saying, "What's going on? Lia, apologize to Ms. Robinson right now!"This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.

Then, turning to Abbey, she continued, "Lia has been raised abroad and might not understand our ways. If she's done something wrong, Ms. Robinson, please don't be upset. I'll make sure she apologizes properly."

With that, the blame was squarely placed on Cordelia.

Abbey was left bewildered.
