“No need. It’s really stutty inside, and I’d like to go for a walk,” Natasha said. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Let me keep you company”

“T’d like to be alone for a while.”

“But Mr. Hasting gave us orders to take good care of you and follow you wherever you go.”

Natasha lost her patience. “I just want some peace. Can’t you just not tell him?”

“Sorry, Ms. Green, but Mr. Hasting said your condition is special and gave us strict instructions. He’s only doing this out of concern for you, so I can’t disobey his words. How about you call him?”

Though Natasha was bad, she couldn’t let it show. If the caregiver reported her to Samuel, she wouldn’t be able to explain herself, so she had to swallow her frustration and call her best friend to vent.

Back in South Haven, Samuel went straight to the office as soon as he arrived. His work had piled up like a mountain.

He had no time for anything else.

Brody had briefed him on the situation in South Haven over the past few days while he was away. It covered the latest trends and changes in the industry, nothing significant

Seeing Samuel’s complexion didn’t look good and noticing he was constantly rubbing his forehead, Brody expressed concern. “Have you been too tired these past few days? Maybe you should get some rest.

No, keep going.” Samuel told Brody

Brody was still worried. “You really don’t look well. Maybe you should take a break.”

Samuel didn’t respond and lazily leaned back against his chair. He looked tensed. After a while, he said, “Do you think I made a mistake?”

“What?” Brody was taken aback. What mistake?

“Getting a divorce.”

This caught Brody off guard, and he didn’t know what to say.

Samuel treated him as one of his own. When Samuel married Shelmaine, he was the first to know although he was just a chauffeur and an assistant, not a relative by blood and not even a friend.

Brody never meddled in Samuel’s personal matters. Back when Samuel and Shelmaine had registered for their marriage, no one had been informed, not even the Hastings. Brody hadn’t said anything to give it away, and now it was the same.

Samuel maintained his posture and sad nothing more. The office was silent, as if he hadn’t asked that question at all.

Scrutinizing the look on his face, Brody blinked. After a while, he slowly began, “I think Ms. Clarke is a kind lady. She’s kind to everyone, and she’s not a bad person.”

Brody had a good impression of Shelmaine

Samuel’s brows remained furrowed, but he still didn’t speak.

Brody was starting to feel uncertain. He was starting to wonder if he shouldn’t have said anything. The divorce was final, and there was no going back even if there was a hint of

MENL

“Did you visit Ms. Green?” Brody couldn’t resist asking.

Samuel responded with a light hum, almost just a nasal sound.

Brody didn’t ask further. He stood there, seemingly waiting for Samuel to continue.

But Samuel didn’t mention Shelmaine again even after a long while, as if it had all been Brody’s illusion

After leaving the office, Brody sighed. He didn’t know what else to say since this was their private affair.

Not long after Brody left, Samuel took out his phone to check A text he had sent yesterday had gone unanswered, lying quietly in the chat box.
