LOVE YOU, UNCLE

LYU 37

Randy had just arrived home. Entering the bedroom, he saw Ghea who had just finished working on her college assignment. Approaching, Randy deliberately sat not far from his wife.

“Have you had dinner?”

“Yes,” the girl replied without shifting her focus from the laptop screen.

“By the way, tomorrow night I have an important meeting and a dinner party with business colleagues. Can you accompany me?”

Ghea stopped her hands from typing on the keyboard. Looking up, she quickly thought and then gave her answer.

“Tomorrow night? Accompany you to a dinner event?”

Randy nodded. Since getting married, this was the first time he had attended a dinner party held by one of his business associates. As a married man, it was a must for him to bring his partner to be introduced to colleagues.

“Yeah. Isn’t it the duty of a wife to always accompany her husband to important events?”

“Well, yeah,” Ghea nodded. “But I’m embarrassed, Uncle. Besides, I’ve never been to such an important event before.”

“Why be embarrassed, Ghe? You just come and go to dinner. You don’t need to do anything.”

Ghea remained silent for a moment. Thinking about whether she should accompany her husband to the seemingly important event. Throughout her life, in her own family, Giselle often attended high-class events. Moreover, there was no way she would be given the opportunity to attend, considering her status as an illegitimate child.

“I’m still embarrassed. And it will be uncomfortable because I don’t know anyone.”

“So, are you not interested at all in accompanying me?”

Ghea shook her head slowly. Considering whether she should join her husband to the seemingly important event. Because, in her entire life, she rarely, if ever, attended important banquets.

Randy remained silent. Getting up from his seat, he intended to go to the bathroom to freshen up.

“Well, if you can’t, I can ask Stella to accompany me. After all, she’s also invited to the dinner party tomorrow.”

Ghea immediately blinked and stared. As Randy left for the bathroom, she wondered if she was willing to let her husband go with the woman who filled the room with fragrance? No way! Later people would think that the fragrant woman was Randy’s legitimate wife.

“If I don’t join, that fragrant Stella will be free to be with Uncle Randy,” Ghea thought while continuing to ponder. “No way. I’d rather go! If left unchecked, that Stella will become more rampant.”

As Randy came out of the bathroom, Ghea had moved from the sofa to the bed. Shortly after Randy lay down and before falling asleep, Ghea sat up, slowly inviting her husband to talk again.

“Uncle…” Ghea whispered cautiously. She was sure she would be considered indecisive by her husband.

“Hmm…” Randy responded, now lying facing away from Ghea. “What’s up?” he answered without turning.

“About the invitation to the dinner party tomorrow.”

“Yeah? What about it?”Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

“I’ve decided to accompany you to the event, Uncle.”

Randy stayed silent for a moment. A broad smile spread across his lips. Fortunately, he was facing away. So, Ghea couldn’t see his expression.

“Are you sure? Suddenly changing your mind?”

Ghea took a deep breath to dispel her nervousness. How to explain this? There was no way she could admit that she changed her mind because she didn’t want her husband to go with another woman. It would be too embarrassing! Those older guys might get cocky.

“Well, after thinking about it, if I don’t get used to it now, when will I?”

While trying to hold back a laugh, Randy tried to respond. Don’t ask how happy he was right now.

“So, are you seriously willing to accompany me?”

“Yes,” Ghea whispered softly.

“Okay. Tomorrow, I’ll ask Alvin to prepare a dress and everything else for you.”

After saying that, still facing away from Ghea, Randy smiled broadly. Happy that his bait had successfully been taken by his wife.

“Well, I’ll go to sleep now. I have to get up early tomorrow.”

Randy then turned around. Nodding, he gestured for Ghea to go to sleep soon.

“Sleep. Sweet dreams.”

“Goodnight, Uncle.”

Ghea then lay down. Pulling the blanket over her, she slowly closed her eyes. Meanwhile, Randy continued to watch. Believing that his wife had fallen asleep, confidently, he lifted a strand of hair covering Ghea’s forehead. Even for a moment, he raised his body, then planted a quick kiss on Ghea’s forehead.

“It would be crazy if I had to fast all the time.”
