The date 1
Searching through her clothes, she couldn’t find anything she could call nice, at least not as nice as the one she wore the first time she met Ben.
She began to consider asking Brie as she didn’t seem to have a choice. Turning around and about to head to the living room, she got startled when she met Brie standing at the room door.
“Brie….” She started, “I need help.”
“Okay?”
“I need one of your dresses…”
“O.. my… god,” Brie said in what didn’t sound like an exclamation.
“What?”
“Are you going out with him?”
“Who?” Belle asked even though it seemed to her that her friend already knew about Ben.
“The guy at the door who just came looking for you.” Belle smiled when she said that because now she knew that Brie actually didn’t know and just thought she was going out with Ben’s driver who was at the door to pick her up.
‘He’s at the door already!’ Belle said to herself.
“No, I’m not going on a date with him. Please Brie help me with a dress, please.
“But you’re going with him? Where did you meet him, he doesn’t look so nice.” Brie finally said her mind. She didn’t want Belle to go out with the guy at the door, he looked all burly and had a scary scar on his face. She didn’t know the man at the door was just Ben’s driver and one of his security men.
“I met him at work,” Belle found herself lying, she had never even met the man at the door.”Another of our colleagues from our office is throwing a party, a birthday party and I actually forgot about it but he just called me now, it was his call I received in the living room, he reminded me about the party and so we are going together.” Belle cooked all of that up, there was no party and no office colleague, and she didn’t even talk to anyone other than Mrs. Johnson at the media house unless she had to.
“Oh, how did you forget about a party?” Brie laughed, believing the story her cousin’s sister just told.
“Help me, come on.” Belle pleaded again.
“Alright.” Brie smiled while heading to the wardrobe, she was happy Belle wasn’t going out with the man at the door.
“You think you can rock this?”Brie held up a black dress in front of Belle. Looking at it, Belle could see its features, it had a long v-cut from its neckline. It wasn’t sleeveless this time, it had a netty long sleeve.
“I can.” Belle nodded vigorously, excited about Ben seeing her in it.
“Alright, you go put it on, remember it wasn’t designed to be worn with a bra.”
“Yeah, all your dresses don’t need a bra.” Belle said from the bathroom where she was already changing Into the dress.” how do I look?” She came back out.
“Sexy.” Brie said honestly, “You look really good in it, Belle.” Brie smiled more making Belle feel confident.
“Thanks.” Belle picked her purse from the wardrobe and Brie watch her put the necessary things she needed before she almost rushed out.
“Where are you going?!” Brie stopped her.
“Huh?”
“Where are you going, you didn’t put on make-up!”
“Oh yeah.” Belle slapped her forehead before going to seat in front of the room’s vanity and let her cousin’s sister help her with the makeup.Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
“Please Belle, call me if you need anything okay?” Brie said, a little worried, she still didn’t like that Belle was leaving with the man with the scar but if only she knew he was just Ben Larkson’s driver.
“Of course, I will, that’s if anything happens,” Belle reassured her before waving to both her and Cherry.
The driver just started towards the stairs without saying a word. She followed him quietly too. He was in a suit but she could tell it wasn’t of the same quality as compared to Ben’s, which she had touched that day.
They got downstairs and he helped her open the door at the building’s entrance which exited the stairs. Getting to a black car parked outside, she tried to see Ben before getting into the car just to be safe but it had tinted glass. when he opened the door to the right side of the car’s backseat, she saw Ben smile at her and so she got in.
He didn’t say anything as the car started to drive and she kept on looking at him even though it was night and the car was dim, she could still see his handsome face.
The car soon arrived at a restaurant where it stopped and the driver came down to open the door for Ben. After Ben got down, he was straightening his suit jacket when the driver was about to open Belle’s side of the door but he still signaled him not to.
Ben walked around the car to her side and opened the door. He put out his hands in front of her but she sat staring at his hands for a while before realizing he was offering to help her out of the car. She immediately took his hands and he helped her out of the car. She hoped she didn’t look silly about what just happened, she just wasn’t used to a man holding out his hands after opening the car for her. She wasn’t even used to having the door opened for her, she just thought the door was locked and that was why she didn’t step out of the car herself.
Ben held her small hands in his as they walked inside the restaurant, his smile was gone since they got out of the car, he didn’t smile that much when he was in public. The doorman bowed and greeted them as they entered the restaurant.
Belle looked around and it was empty, she wondered why, she didn’t know Ben had ordered for the whole place to be booked, he didn’t want anyone else sharing the restaurant that night.
He pulled out a chair from the table they had both walked to, she smiled as she sat but he didn’t smile back, it made her a little nervous.
