Chapter 100
SIEGREN'S BODY TENSED, his finger twitching involuntarily at the words that had just pierced his ears. He wanted to reply, but all the questions running rampant through his mind prevented him from saying anything. He didn't even know how to respond to something so shocking, and he wasn't quite sure whether he was supposed to respond at all.
"You see, in Narva, there is a legend about a powerful witch whose blood can cure most illnesses. However, none was really able to see the grand witch, leading many to dismiss her existence as merely a myth.” Helga explained. “However, it wasn't until my seventh birthday that my mother revealed her true identity to me: she was a grand witch, the only one in existence."
"She used her powers to hide the truth, knowing that if anyone found out her true identity, they would try to exploit her and use her blood to make money... She believed she could keep her secret safe forever until she met my father who recognized her as his destined partner. At first, my mother was cautious of my father, but over time they grew to love each other and eventually got married."
"On my seventh birthday, she informed me that my power would awaken. With my blood being half-royal alpha and the other half-grand witch, both my wolf and human forms would inherit their abilities, making me more special than any other female werewolf." Helga continued explaining. This is a fact that she had almost forgotten, but because the truth about her identity was already coming to light, everything her mother told her on her seventh birthday began returning to the forefront of her mind. She knew this so much information would be hard for Siegren to process at one sitting but she had no intention of keeping any detail hidden. It was her right to tell him the truth since he deserved to hear it as much as possible. "Honestly, my wolf Stella had already been present in my mind since I was seven. But it wasn't until my coming-of-age that I was able to shift and fully embrace my identity as a werewolf. My unique abilities became apparent when I didn't receive any scars despite being wounded multiple times; in fact, I heal much quicker than an average werewolf. And as you know, my inner wolf, Stella, possesses strong powers."
Helga squeezed Siegren's hand before looking straight into his eyes. She could tell how much this information shocked the hell out of him, and she felt bad about having kept this revelation from him for so long.
"I know you despised witches, but I hope this truth won't make you despise me as well,” Her voice trembled as she spoke, her anxiety growing with each passing second of his silence. She could feel the weight of his gaze on her, and it only intensified her nerves.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, she saw a faint expression flicker across Siegren's face before he hastily composed himself. With a gentle squeeze of her hand, he leaned in to press a soft kiss to her forehead, sending shivers down her spine and calming her racing heart for just a moment.
"I would never, even if you happen to be Sorenne's descendant, I won't despise you," he said, pulling her into a hug. Now that she stopped telling her story, Helga's body began to shake
with a mixture of anxiety and relief, grateful that he wasn't angry or repulsed by her story. She buried her face in his shoulder, trying to compose herself as tears welled up in her eyes again, "Thank you for telling me the truth, I know you must have been anxious that I would hate you because you I have a witch blood in your veins."NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.
"If your mother is a grand witch, she might know something about my curse, but we don't know whether she's alive or not," Siegren said, making Helga pull out from the hug and Imeet his gaze. When he saw the tears flowing down her cheeks, he reached out and brushed them away. "Should I start looking for your parents?"
"To be completely honest, my previous statement about not wanting to look for them was not entirely true. I had just convinced myself that I didn't need to dwell on the past because my present life was fulfilling enough. But deep down, I couldn't deny that I missed them terribly—my mother and father. I could only hope that they were still alive somewhere out there." Helga admitted before taking a deep sigh, "But now I've decided, let's find them."
Siegren's face relaxed into a small, satisfied smile as he nodded in agreement. His mind was still abuzz with all the new information he had learned today, but none of that mattered in this moment. With Helga by his side, he felt confident and determined to find a solution to his curse together.
"I will immediately ask someone from the pack to travel to Narva." he said, cupping her cheeks and wiping away another tear that threatened to escape her eyes, "Once we capture Gabriel, I plan to interrogate him myself. We don't have any information on his connection to your mother yet. He could be a friend or an enemy; we can't be sure at this point." "Right, but very few individuals are aware of my mother's status as a grandwitch and the fact that she has a daughter." Helga reminded him. "If the warlock was aware of this information, then it must mean that either my mother had sent him, or an enemy had somehow uncovered my mother's closely guarded secret."
"It would be the latter," Siegren replied thoughtfully. "If he was sent by your mother, he would surely know your appearance and should be able to identify you by now." Helga's brow furrowed in contemplation as she nodded, slowly realizing that Siegren was probably right. The warlock must have been a foe, which is why she needed to be careful. There's no telling who would find whom first; there was a chance that Gabriel, could find her before the royal guards could apprehend him.
"For the time being, would it be alright if you remained within the palace grounds? I promise I'm not trying to keep you locked up or anything. Yyou were attacked yesterday and there is a warlock actively searching for you. It would probably be safer for you to stay indoors until we can capture them." Siegren explained, trying his best not to sound like he was confining her. "I know you are capable of protecting yourself, but I just want to ensure your safety and well-being."
"All right," Helga's lips curved into a knowing smile as she watched Siegren fret over her safety once again. Just when they thought they had one less problem to deal with after taking care of Ezra and Miranda, another one seemed to rear its head. It seemed as though the Moon Goddess was determined not to give them any break.
"So, now that we have reached a resolution and made a plan, does that mean everything is good between us?" she asked before lifting her pinky finger towards Siegren who looked confused by the sudden gesture, "Promise me that we will always work together to find a solution for our problems and never ever reject each other."
"Miscommunications and arguments are unavoidable in marriages, but let's promise not to let any of that ruin our bond and relationship. Let's stay together forever." Helga added, causing Siegren to smile.
"I promise." He nodded, his eyes glinting with a mixture of excitement and hesitation as he linked his pinkie finger with hers. Helga's arms then wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer as she planted kisses on his lips with increasing intensity. He seemed to hesitate for only a moment, his emotions conflicting between guilt from their previous encounter and the raw desire that coursed through his veins. But then he gave in, returning her kisses with equal passion, unable to resist the pull of her embrace.
"Right now,
the curse isn't controlling you, so you couldn't possibly absorb my life energy." Helga reminded him as their lips parted, her gaze filled with intense longing while looking at Siegren. Though they had just mated last night, she craved his touch and warmth even more now that they had made up, and he was fully in control. She wanted to feel him inside her with passion full of love rather thanh helping him with the curse.
Slowly, she leaned in towards his ear, her breath hot against his skin as she gently nibbled on the lobe, causing a shiver to run through Siegren's body in response to her teasing touch. His jaw clenched, and his hand tightened around her waist. "Make love to me, Your Majesty. Doing it once last night wasn't enough."
