Chapter Two
Did you know that our spoiled Amara would go far and beyond for her loved ones?
We had just finished getting our massages and were having our drinks overlooking the beautiful scenery of the snow-covered mountainous landscape when her daddy dearest called.
“… Austria dad, yeah sure I’ll tell Peter to arrange everything for our return. Yes, I’m with Olga…”
And just like that our getaway was done. She has always been daddy’s little princess. I’ve known her for years, she would abandon her class every time her dad arrives early for their scheduled father-daughter weekly lunch date.
She would know how to excuse herself from the class without offending her professors. Though I’d say it was her dad’s very generous donation that had made the faculty ignore her behavior.
But her grades were good, I’d say better than her lazy ass brothers who also went to the same university.
“I’m sorry about this Olga, I’ll make it up to you next time.”
“Hey… it’s daddy dearest nothing comes before him, not even me. It’s okay Am, I’ll be there when you need me.”
That was my usual line for her, cause honestly, she was just too good of a friend to let me down. She knows her priority when I obviously don’t. Ha!
Okay people, let’s focus back on her story.
I didn’t see her days after that, we texted and called but that was about it.

“There, daddy’s little princess is back among us.” Her oldest stepbrother Colton greeted her as she entered the room to join their family dinner.
But then his mother silenced him with a look, nodding her head to the other entrance where her father was walking into the room. For a fifty-eight years old man he still looked very handsome and buff, her stepmother hurriedly stand up and welcome him as she kissed his cheek obviously pretending that she was into the marriage for love.
Amara had found out a couple of years back that she had cheated on her dad. And shockingly he said that he knows already.
“Amara, my beautiful daughter… your mother was the love of my life. And when she passed away I know I couldn’t love anyone else as much as I love her. Well, excluding you obviously…” he chuckled one day as she reveals to him about her stepmother who was cheating on him.
She was baffled by his words, but he assured her that her stepmother was keeping with her appearance and knows not to flaunt her affairs, or she would be cut off.
“Amara, how’s Austria?” he put his arm on her shoulder, pulling her for a fatherly hug then kissed her hair lovingly.
“Very beautiful dad, we should go there together. The view, spa, the massage was really relaxing. You need a break from all the work…”
“Maybe we should come let’s have dinner. I have some announcements afterward.”
He smiled at her but his words were making Amara nervous. His announcement usually consists of him telling the rest of his family about his future plan.
Her three stepbrothers joined them from the bar area and they were all seated by the dining table where the diner was already served beautifully. Her stepmother sits on her dad’s right side while she was on his other side.
They all ate quietly while talking about nothing of importance, and by the end of the meal, her dad was changing the subject.
“So, now the big news…” daddy dearest took her hand in his and smile at her.
“We will be taking over one of the biggest airline companies in the world. They are failing financially due to their bad debts, shady dealings, and poor management. They use to lead the market but currently rank fifth among their competitor. And I believe we could change their fortune and get them back to first.”
Violet, her stepmom looked at her dad with adoration, or maybe just more dollar signs, meh… you know, I don’t get her. Being filthy rich, but still money-hungry.
“That is great news Russel, I know you can make that company thrive again.” She said rubbing his knuckles.
“You’ve been working too much dad. What are you going to do with all the money? You should relax and take care of your health.” Amara couldn’t help herself but remind her dad.
This was what he would do every couple of months, held important family dinners then break the news.
“Yeah dad, listen to Amara. At this time I think you need to reconsider…” Clifford the middle brother, the overthinker, was obviously counting his assets knowing one out of ten of his dealings was always a bad investment.
I’ve met him once, and let me tell you, Clifford was one of those wicked people who protect his assets like his life’s depend on it. The funny thing was none of those assets were from his hard work.
“Maybe you should join Colton at the office and help me out, the acquisition will commence next week….”Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
Russel said to Clifford, he would do this knowing his reply already. He wanted all his kids to work hard, earn their living. Even Amara had interned for him before, but months later she was working too hard while he wanted her to focus on her studies.
“Next week? Dad, it’ll be my birthday, how about our traditional father-daughter day?”
“Amara, I’ve arranged my schedule already, don’t worry just check in with Peter.” He smiled at her, making Amara light up and her stepmom retreated back to talking with her boys.
“Clifford, do as your father told you. Someday you need to handle the companies, and you need to learn the ropes early on…”
Violet tried to convince his party-goer son, yup… Clifford was one of those trust fund kids, together with her youngest Cyrus. She had told them many times, obviously with ulterior motives.
Both of her boys had graduated and she wanted them to continue to work with their father just like her eldest Colton. Though she had heard Russel complained about him, she thought at least he was getting himself involved.
And she didn’t want Amara to work directly in Russel’s financial dealings, fearing that one day she would get more than herself.
Duh… this woman, I hate her already. I still couldn’t believe her greed.
But Amara, being the nicest person ever, she would always treat her stepfamily nicely. And she was making her father love her more for it.
Gosh, this story… I could see the rollercoaster ahead of me already. She’s going for a hell of a ride isn’t she author? Damn…
