Chapter 91 What do you like?
The young couple stayed in Melissa’s ward and waited.
Finally. Melissa woke up at the break of dawn.
After some examination, the doctor deemed the operation a success, and Alicia could finally put her mind at ease Although Melissa had woken up, she was too weak and could not speak up much.
Melissa and Alicia stared at each other before the tears of happiness rolled down their faces.
"I told you before that I would live up to 99 years old." Melissa joked with a pale smile.
The nurse came in and changed the drips and bandages for Melissa, and soon she fell back into a deep slumber again It was only then did Edmond dragged Alicia away.
“Let's go back and have a good sleep. I know you haven't slept well for the past few days." Edmond instructed.
Even yesterday, when Alicia fainted due to low blood sugar, her brows were still knitted tightly and kept muttering during her unconsciousness. Edmond could not catch what she was muttering yesterday, but he knew she must have been very insecure.
Back at the apartment. showered, and lying on the bed, Alicia finally regained a sense of security.
Edmond exited the bathroom and saw Alicia spread herself out on the bed without blow-drying her hair as she was on the verge of dozing off into sleep just like this.
There was nothing he could do with Alicia Edmond had no choice but to fetch the hairdryer and dry Alicia's hair for her.
Alicia was sleepy but felt the warm air blowing on her head amid her drowsiness and the warm sunlight that shone on her face through the window. For the moment, a faint sense of happiness swept over her.
She could not help but let out a faint smile.
"I like it a lot..." Alicia murmured.
Edmond paused his blow-drying motion and looked at her in shock while a smile crept across his face. "What do you like?" Edmond asked smilingly.
"Hmm..." Alicia murmured faintly.
Alicia did not open her eyes, and a look of mesmerized and confusion spread across her face as her body relaxed as if she had some very comfortable dream
With a flutter in his heart, Edmond slowly leaned down and brushed his fingertip through the stray hairs near her forehead, guiding her with a slight hint of bewitchment.
"As in, you like me?" Edmond tried to coax the answer he wanted to hear from Alicia. Alicia was falling asleep, but her faint smile still lingered as she whispered, "Yes." "Do you really like me?" Edmond continued
"Yes," Alicia responded quietly.
"Will you still like me in the future?" Edmond asked again
"Yes," Alicia answered before finally falling into a deep sleep.
Edmond was very pleased with the answer, and a huge smug spread across his face.
After putting down the hairdryer, he lay on thebed with Aliciaand => lowered his head to planta kiss’on her pale cheek before hugging her lovingly and dozing off into kis dream happily. -All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
It was already noon when Alicia was finally awake.
She noticed that Edmond was still in a deep sleep, and his arms were still wrapped around her. Even in his sleep, a faint smile was hanging on his face.
Alicia could not help but wonder what kind of dream did Edmond dream of to be smiling so smugly and proud like this. Even though she was wondering so, her hands subconsciously wrapped around Edmond’s waist to draw herself closer to him.
Suddenly, she remembered the time when she got her marriage certification with Edmond.
Back then, when she was at the Civil Affairs Bureau, she had the feeling of seeing through the disillusion of. the worl¢and being unafraid of x death when signing the marriage” cert. from the bottom of her Aéart, Alicia did not believe that one day Edmond would be as gooéto her as he was now.
However, drastic changes happened to their relationship in just over a month.
Even she found it hard to believe.
It was like a dream, like a free lunch from the sky.
She vaguely recalled what Edmond said during the plane ride that he thought they could get back together.
Both of them were very stubborn and hardheaded. They would not admit being defeated even at their very last breath. However, in this relationship, he was the ane who gave in first.
But must the one who always gave in first in love necessarily loses? Alicia suddenly laughed What was there to compare when both were in love?
Life is not an arena, so competing in every relationship is unnecessary.
It was only lafain the noon before Edmond was-fina ly awake. When he found outthat the bed beside him-> was empty, he lifted the blanket and got outof the bed. Once he opened the bedroom door, he saw Alicia cooking with an apron in the kitchen.
Alicia heard some fumbling and turned her head around to see a sleepy Edmond leaning against the door with a stunned expression that she could not help but feel amused.
"Go and freshen yourself up. Lunch is almost ready." Alicia stated
Edmond checked out Alicia.
Alica, who was usually an attractive and glamorous person, suddenly turned into a virtuous and loving wife, making his heart flutter even harder. He could not help but went forward to hug Alicia
He thought she would reach out and push him away like her usual reaction, but instead, she turned around, wrapped her arm around his neck, tiptoed, and kissed him lightly.
The slight squinting of her eyes was so flirtatious, and the smile on her face was so mesmerizing that it felt like a string was tugging his heart. Edmond was so captivated by her that he was momentarily lost in thought.
After a while, he heard Alicia smiling at him and said, "Edmond, let's live happily ever after from now on."
