Subtitle: Getting to know him
Written by : Marvy Hyacinth
As soon as Alexa and Anderson got to the salon, Alexa made to get off, but Anderson stopped her.
“No one knows if we actually know each other for real or not, so don’t give me a reason to draw up on you in there.”
Anderson strictly said.
Alexa looked at him strangely and without replying, straightened herself up as she got off the car and started trotting towards the salon.
_APRIL_
“Send this package to the warehouse at the store beside the park.”
I ordered the two girls in front of me.
“Yes miss.”
The red haired answered.
I thought that was all, but the older girl spoke up.
“What then, miss?”
“That’s a very good question. I almost forgot that part.”
I commented as I ran my finger tip on the glass rim.
“Just prepare the goods inside the warehouse and when Phoebe Patterson arrives, tell her it’s an advance birthday gift from your madam… Hide my identity though.”
“But the goods inside the warehouse costs much… You’re just gonna gift it to her? I thought she was your business enemy?”
The red hair asked looking all confused.
I laughed a little before keeping my face straight once more.
“Tell her.”
I nodded to the other girl.
“The dresses inside that warehouse are all fake.”
The older girl explained to the red hair.
“Oh…”
She exclaimed in realisation, making me think I was done explaining things to the amateured red hair, but she soon spoke up… Making me grunt disgusted from all the stress she was putting me through.
“But won’t that put you in trouble?”
She came again.
“That’s the point of me hiding my identity you stressanator!”
I yelled angrily at the idiotic moron.
“I’m sorry for being so feeble minded, my lady.”
“You don’t train her well?!”
I yelled, turning my anger to the older girl.
She fell to her knees immediately, the red hair following suit.
“I’m sorry miss, I’ll do better.”
“Just get out and go do what I sent you.”
I yelled, already pissed.
They stood up and turned to leave.
“Make sure things go as planned… Without any hitches, or I’ll make sure you both are fired and won’t be able to get jobs anywhere else.”
I threatened and watched them turn back to face me, bowed and scurried away.
“Foolish fools!”
I muttered under my breath in annoyance.
??? ?????…
“Welcome Miss.”
Alexa was greeted immediately she walked into the salon.
“Thank you.”
Alexa gave a small smile as she waved and hid her face behind her raised hand, a little bit shy about the warm reception she was receiving.
“Want something?”
The girl who received Alexa asked.
Looking more at her, Alexa suspected she was just a little over seventeen, she sounded pretty nice.
Alexa nodded her response. The air in here was cold… Probably cause of the Air Conditioning and the dress she was putting on did nothing to combat the temperature from biting through her skin.
“A hairdo?”
The girl came, making Alexa nod again.
“You got a style in mind?”
“Huh? Style?”
Alexa stuttered uncontrollably.
“You don’t understand what I mean? Or your tongue’s tied?”
“Not really…”
Alexa’s voice died out.
She wasn’t used to going to hair salons to make a hairdo, usually, it was her, her hair, braids, french braids, pig tails, buns… And the likes… All done with her own hand, so coming here was something totally new.
“I’ll take it from here.”
A guy walked up to them.
Alexa raised up her eye lids to look at the person who saved her from an impeding embarrassing situation.
“You!”
“Happy to see me again?”
“No! You’re a nightmare.”
Alexa fired back, already getting scared.
“Oh don’t be judgemental babe! I’m a sweet gentleman.”
Paul smiled sickly sweet.
” ‘oh don’t be judgemental babe, I’m a sweet gentleman.’ Gentleman my foot!”
Paul gave a small tiny, but loud laugh.
“You’re so funny. I see why Anderson has interest in you.”
Alexa glared at him and without saying anything back in reply, turned her back to leave… Well of course, we all know that’s gonna be impossible since Paul is yet to be done with her.
“Leaving so soon? Forgetting you came to this luxurious salon for a reason?”
Paul asked, his face tight as he grabbed hold of Alexa’s arm… Preventing her from leaving.
“I don’t necessarily need to make my hairdo here, there are so many other Salons.”
Alexa refuted.
“After making your boyfriend pay already?”
“What the… He hasn’t paid anything yet.”
Alexa argued as she folded her arms under her chest.
“Turn around and take a look at the reception desk.”
Paul changed his stance and put his hands in his pockets, watching as Alexa followed his instructions.
Alexa turned her neck around a bit without moving, and saw that indeed… Anderson was leaning on the reception desk and looking at her And then to… Paul?
Wait!
Anderson wasn’t looking at Paul.
He was glaring hard at him!
‘Does he recognise him as the person that kidnapped me?’
‘That can’t be possible, right?’
These thoughts were what was going through Alexa’s mind, at once she wanted to scream out his name, run to him for safety and tell him her kidnapper was here.
“Don’t even think of it…”
Alexa turned sharply.
“Huh… How’d… How’d you know?”
“Don’t dare try it. I’ve got a gun on me, if you don’t want a hole in HIS head, keep mute and discard your thoughts.”
Paul said, in his ‘ I’m ready to kill ‘ voice.
With that warning in mind, Alexa turned once more to look at Anderson… And when she saw he was too pretty, quickly discarded the thought of telling him anything at the moment, to keep his handsome self alive.
Not for him, but for her.
She hated to admit it, but she had indeed, and deeply fallen for him. And secretly, she hoped it was same on his side.
“Done checking your boyfriend out, or I should keep waiting till you’re done?”
Came Paul all sarcastic.
At once, Alexa snapped her neck back to face Paul.
“He’s not my boyfriend.”
Alexa said in a low voice before walking to sit so she could get her hair done and leave as quickly as possible.
“Oh sorry. Fiance, I mean. I’m correct, ain’t I?”
Paul said, sounding all annoying to Alexa.
“Oh please!”
Alexa rolled her eyes.
Alexa, wondering where all the hair stylists went, since she was seated already and no one was attending to her.
The chance to ask her question came as one of them walked past her.
“Excuse me…”
The lady turned to look at her.
“Me?”
She asked, and Alexa nodded.
“Any problem?”
“Yes, indeed.”
Alexa replied and when the lady gave a go-ahead, she continued.
“I’ve been sitting here for some time now, and no one is attending to me.”
“What do you mean? The person supposed to attend to you is right behind you.”
The lady said, making Alexa confused before actually turning to who she was referring to.
“Edgar, what exactly have you been doing since?”
She asked before walking off.
Alexa turned to Paul.
“You’re Edgar?”
She asked all the more confused.
“Nice name, Huh?”
Paul (Edgar) smirked.
“How do you work here? Who. Are. You?.”All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Alexa asked, goosebumps now growing on her skin.
“Someone who has a score to settle with your husband.”
Paul leaned down on her ear and breathed, then stood straight and smiled evilly.
The goosebumps became more visible on her skin.
“Then how come he doesn’t recognize you? I mean, if you hate him so much and he knows you… He’s standing over there and doesn’t know who you are.”
“Take a guess.”
Paul smiled.
“Oh geez….”
Alexa exclaimed as realisation hit her.
“You’re smart.”
Paul smirked.
At once, Alexa found her heart knotting in anxiety. If he had the mind to undergo plastic surgery for revenge on something she didn’t really have an idea of, then he was indeed evil.
She gripped the arm rest of the chair tightly to stand up, but Paul towered over her and leaned in.
“Look at him… I mean, your fiance.”
Paul said and Alexa went on to look.
“His face is scowled only from you talking to a handsome male like me. You don’t think… He’s in love with you? I mean, why’s he all concerned about another male and jealous?”
Paul smirked.
“What do you think would happen if I do this?”
Paul asked, and without giving Alexa room to ask anything… Hid his face in the nook of her neck, giving her a kiss there.
He felt Alexa hold her breath and noticed her skin go pale, from fear and probably… Passion, maybe?
He wondered.
He was still lost in the sweet, musky, feminine scent of his worst enemy’s fiancée when someone tapped him on his shoulder.
“Hey…”
Paul flapped his closed eyes open and his senses returning, raised up his head and away from Alexa, but what hit him was something never to be forgotten.
“Don’t ever touch her again!”
Came the voice of another male as he massaged his fist.
Paul stood straight and wiped the blood off the side of his already broken lip.
“Oh look, your boyfriend is here.”
He laughed hysterically.
Well, Anderson hitting Paul wasn’t really news to Alexa. She had seen him when Paul fell to the floor.
“You see how he comes running because I inhaled and kissed you? Still don’t believe me?”
Paul gave a small laugh.
“I’ll tell you a little something then. He loves you, but his ego won’t let him admit it, because his father killed your father.”
“What the…?!”
