Marry Ex's Uncle After Divorcement

Chapter 619

Chapter 619

“I don’t really wanna go out these days”, said Theresa.

“All right.” Mr. Garson respected her choice. “Just feel free to tell me anytime you need help.”

Theresa gave him a grateful nod. “Thank you, Mr. Garson. And please help me send my thanks to Mr. White.”

After a light nod, Mr. Garson led his men out of the door.

Theresa gazed after them at the door till they disappeared, her heart still fluttering with fear. It suddenly dawn on her how naive she was to think that she had perfectly covered her track by just staying indoors and concealing address. Mr. Garson’s visit today shattered all her illusions. Had it not been for their help, she might have been found by Charlie Calsis.

Back to the kitchen, Theresa had a look at the fresh seafood. Ben came over at this moment. “Wow, so many shrimps! Mom.”

“Wanna have it for breakfast?”

“Yes!” Ben nodded eagerly.

A smile played on Theresa’s lips when she cast a tender gaze over Ben. “Then go wake your brother up. I’ll make it for you now.” Leonard should still be sleeping at this hour. Sleep took up most of his time except studying now. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

The boys were salivating as the shrimps were served, but an abrupt ring from Theresa’s phone broke the atmosphere.

It was a message from Jimmy Watson. [Your father’s sick and hospitalized.]

Theresa remained skeptical of his words though she knew Jimmy was in charge of company affairs recently. [Save your breathe. I don’t buy it.]

[Believe it or not, I’m just telling the truth. Charlie has been making things difficult for your father so as to press for your whereabouts. But Mr. Cameron remains unforthcoming. He now even shields you from the truth that he’s sick.]

Different from Mr. Cameron, Jimmy was expecting Theresa to show up since he was so curious about what would happen between Theresa and Charlie.

Theresa chose to check with Robert. [Is father hospitalized?]

Soon she got the reply. [Yes, Mistress. Sir has always been in poor health, but he never let me tell you.]

[I’ll visit him today.] Theresa made this decision after deep consideration. It would be safer for her to keep barricading herself indoors, but she also felt the time she could spend with her father dwindled day by day. She chose to cherish the present.

Robert showed no objection to this. [When will you come over?]

[Anytime as long as nobody else is around. I don’t wanna waste my time on others.]

[Then the best time will be tonight, after they’ve all left.]

Leah had been taking care of Johnson Cameron these days. Honestly she might not be a qualified step-mother to Theresa, but she could be called a good wife to Johnson in some way. Not to mention now that Theresa had left and Johnson was hospitalized, wasn’t it a good chance for Sarah to return to company? Leah was trying to help her daughter by buttering up Johnson.

At last, night fell. In the ward, Leah held Johnson’s hand and said gently, “Hubby, Sarah has reflected on her mistake deeply. It’ll never happen again. Just give her another chance, please.”

Johnson frowned at her words. “You’re so full of crap.” Listening to Leah’s flow of nonsense about Sarah was really a headache to Johnson, as he had no interest in any Sarah’s affairs now.

Robert tried to persuade Leah. “Madam, you’ve been here for two days. I advise you to have a rest first.

Please be reassured. I’ll take good care of Mr. Cameron here.”

Leah glanced at Robert, whose words got her thinking. Yeah, she had racked her brains, however, no amount of coaxing would change Johnson’s mind. She had no other choice but to agree to Robert’s advice. In fact Leah knew it was impractical to make Johnson show his approval for Sarah’s return at once. She had to do it step by step, taking use of this time to soften his heart.

She rose from the chair and walked out the ward. At the ward door, she said to Robert, “Thanks, Robert. Take care of Johnson. I’ll be back tomorrow morning.”
