Chapter 650
Chapter 650
Charlie and Dick walked out of the door in unison. Since Rawlins hadn’t left, the two men waited.
Charlie was worried about Leonard and Ben.
He glanced at Dick and said, “I’ve never seen you fear a woman like this, Mr. White.” Dick replied, “It’s a gentleman’s instinct to respect a woman. Think I’m like you?” He wouldn’t tell Charlie he cared about Theresa as she could make him sleep well.
No one else could guarantee his sleeping quality if something happened to her.
Jonathan rolled his eyes at him as he didn’t expect Dick to call himself a gentleman.
Jonathan was amused.
Shortly after, Rawlins left the house with Leah. Leah asked Charlie for help, “Charlie, can I go with you?”
She’d rather die than go with Dick’s men, doubting if they would do something to her on the way.
Besides, her hunch told her Theresa’s words to Rawlins had implications. Leah wondered if Theresa colluded with Rawlins to harm her.
She had to admit that she had underestimated Theresa. Much to her surprise, Theresa was friends with
Dick.
Charlie had no mood to get involved. “We’re not going in the same direction.”
Leah couldn’t utter a beep.
Rawlins opened the rear door of a car and gestured to let Leah sit in.
Dick said to Charlie, “Please leave, Mr. Calsis.”
If Charlie refused to go, he would also stay, as he mentioned earlier. After watching Charlies leave, he would go.
Therefore, both parties watched each other and left Theresa’s house together.
In the car, Jonathan darted at Charlie and said, “Please calm down, Mr. Calsis.” © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
He knew Charlie was furious.
Especially after Dick appeared, Charlie failed to take his children home.
Charlie kept silent.
Jonathan asked, “Shall we sue Theresa for real?”
“She asked for it, didn’t she?” Charlie still couldn’t figure out what had happened to her.
She would definitely lose the case, but she insisted on provoking him.
He wondered if Theresa thought he wouldn’t have the heart to do so and would indulge her.
If it had happened before, he would forgive her. However, she had become Dick’s girlfriend, which
humiliated Charlie, so he decided to never forgive her.
After they finally left, Theresa returned to the boys’ room. Ben was sitting on a couch. He was always joyful, but his face was covered with sorrow, tears trickling down his cheeks.
Theresa felt a sharp pang in her heart. Walking to him, she called, “Ben.”
Ben raised his head to look at her silently. However, his pitiful look tightened Theresa’s heart.
Theresa reached out and held him in her arms tightly. “Are you scared, sweetheart? I’m sorry. It’s alright now.”
Ben sobbed, “Why did Dad do that?”
He used to love his father deeply, but now, he thought his father had changed.
Theresa frowned and coaxed him, “It’s OK now, Ben. He won’t do it again.”
Leonard walked to her and asked, “Mom, will Dad steal us away?”
“No, he won’t,” Theresa answered, “I’ll keep you with me. OK? Stop overthinking.”
Leonard added, “I’ll never forgive him. He’s gone too far.”
He disliked his father as Charlie played favorites and mistreated Theresa. After what happened today, he detested Charlie to the core.
