The shooting ended, and the staff members came forward to congratulate Henry and Lyla.
Sonya, however, wasn't one of them. Seeing Mark walking towards the backyard, she bypassed the crowd to catch up with him. "Mr. Keen."
Hearing this, Mark turned around and smiled at the sight of her.
"Ms. Ella, I thought you had already returned to town. Glad to see you still here; why don't you join us for dinner tonight?"
Sonya shook her head and said, "I came to talk to you about Mrs. Horton's orchard."
Mark turned serious when it came to work.
"Let's talk inside," he offered.
"OK." Sonya nodded.
The crew didn't mind paying Leticia a relatively large amount of money for the orchard, but they didn't have time to help sell the apples. After all, the filming had already ended, and the expenses incurred by staying an extra day were significant and unplanned. But there were thousands of pounds of apples, which was the painstaking effort of the Hortons for a year. Seeing the apples go rotten helplessly was surely cruel to them.
"When the show airs, I'm sure we'll receive overwhelmingly positive responses. But if someone finds out that all the apples we picked end up rotten, and the thing gets spread, it'll taint the show's reputation," said Sonya.
Mark patted his forehead. "Gee! How could I miss that? Ms. Ella, you're right. We've gotta consider this."
He thought for a moment and said, "I'll talk to the crew about it and come up with some solutions. I promise we'll help the Hortons to sell the apples."
Upon hearing this, Sonya finally was relieved.
She came out of the backyard and turned the corner, and she accidentally tripped over an equipment box. She gasped and bent down to roll up her trouser leg, only to see that her calf was scraped. Just then, she
she heard footsteps. Looking up, she unexpectedly saw
saw Henry.
Unlike someone who had just successfully proposed, he looked sullen with icy eyes. As he saw her, his
gaze deepened, mixed with obscure emotions, maybe anger, disappointment, or perhaps even hatred...
Yes, it was hatred. He actually hated her.
How ridiculous.
He didn't stop in his tracks; he glanced at her and then looked away and strode towards the back.
She didn't look back. Hearing his footsteps growing farther and farther away, of relief. This time, they ended for good.
she breathed a sigh
His world was so complicated, and she figured that no longer being part of it was a wise choice. After all, she had already wasted eight years of her life on him, and she couldn't afford to make 9 09:38

She chatted with Taylor and Riya for a while before leaving the courtyard. Yet, no sooner had she left than Lyla caught up with her.
"Ms. Ella, can I have a few words with you?"
Sonya looked at Lyla and noticed some changes in Lyla; she was no longer arrogant and domineering. Right now, she looked frightened as if something had scared her. "What about?" Sonya asked.
"1
"...
called you about two hours ago," Lyla said.
Sonya thought of the strange number.
"What do you want?" she asked.
"..." Lyla twisted her hands, wanting to say something but not daring to."I wanna apologize to you."
"What?" Sonya was stunned and confused. What had gotten into Lyla today?
Lyla stuttered, "You ... told me to stay away from Henry, but I didn't listen. Now I realize how stupid I was." Sonya arched
an
eyebrow, having no idea what Lyla was talking about.
Lyla continued, "I regret it so much, but it's too late now. I ... I'm not Zoey. I'm just a clown for them to play with. If it were just me, I wouldn't have been afraid of anything, but my family..." Suddenly, she stopped talking and looked up in panic.
As Sonya followed her gaze, she saw Henry up there, looking at them. When she looked back a Lyla, she saw that Lyla was trembling slightly.
"So? What exactly are you trying to tell me?" she asked Lyla again.
Lyla shook her head."Nothing..."
Sonya felt speechless and was about to walk away.
"Ms. Ella, you blocked me," Lyla said.
...
"I saw no need for us to stay in touch," Sonya said coldly.
Lyla suddenly bowed to her."Ms. Ella, please unblock me. I promise I won't disturb you. But if I call you one day, please, answer the phone."
After saying this, Lyla quickly ran towards the courtyard.
Watching Lyla's retreating figure, Sonya vaguely felt something off. But on second thought, she realized that she had nothing to do with any of this; whether it was Henry, Zoey, or Lyla, for her, they were just passers-by. That night, Sonya stayed at the Sutton's house.
The next day, after lunch, she and Calvin returned to New York.
On the way, Calvin received a call from his high school classmate. The longer he listened, the angrier he became, and in the end, he couldn't help but snap.
"She's full of lies! She offered to keep me, and she told you I begged her to come back to me? And you actually believed her? You know her, don't you? 009 38

"She's good at acting? She should have become an actress! This is such a waste of her talent!
"Her husband wants to teach me a lesson? Yeah, perhaps he could after he became taller After hanging up the phone, he was still furious.
"Victoria is such a bitch! What was I thinking back then? How could I fall for her? I feel ashamed when I think I used to be with her!"
Sonya smiled, "It's fine. Many people make similar mistakes; this is nothing to be embarrassed
bout."
He said, "That's true. Even you made the same mistake twice."
Sonya immediately stopped smiling."I don't mind if

Calvin chuckled and lowered his head to check his phone. After a while, he said, "Sonya, congratulations. You've become a trending topic."
Sonya sighed.
"One Prince Charming against countless Cinderellas?" Calvin burst out laughing "What an impressive trending topic."
He clicked on the trending topic; after several minutes, he was pissed off again.
"They're so mean! They said you slept your way up from Julian's bed to Henry's bed, and you thought you were so lucky, but you were just digging up your own grave. And this comment here! This is so outrageous. This retard actually said you were a gold digger, and one lucky gold digger no less as you had already found yourself enough money."
"Whatever." She shrugged.
"Sonya, we've gotta fight back."noveldrama
"Why stoop so low?" she said nonchalantly.
"But I've gotta step up for you; after all, I'm so loyal to you."
With that, Calvin had already started typing.
In the evening, they finally arrived at the clinic.
It had been nearly a month, and the yard was overgrown with weeds. When the neighbors saw Sonya, they all gathered around to chat with her.
"Sonya, we know everything. You did the right thing by divorcing him. He calls himself a man? He's impotent, and instead of being ashamed of himself, he continues to be a playa? What a jerk," one of the neighbors said.
The other neighbors nodded in agreement, and Raven Herrera, one of the neighbors, even offered to show her the ropes to tell if a man was impotent.
Sonya became more and more puzzled as she listened; realizing something, she pulled out her phone.
The top trending topic had received countless comments, and the headline read, "The heir to the Reynolds Group was divorced for his impotence."
