Chapter 1910
Chapter 1910
Liam curled his lips with a hint of frostiness flashing in his eyes.
Awhile later, he looked Caprice in the eye. Her fair and wet face made her look like a damsel in distress.
"So you think Heather and | are dating?"
Caprice hummed a reply.
"Is that why you reject our engagement?" he asked.
"Mhmm..." Caprice pondered but shook her head. "Not exactly.”
"What's the other reason?"
"It's because you...you don't..." Caprice lowered her blush-stained face.
She was too embarrassed to utter those words in person.
Liam narrowed his eyes. His usual calm look was replaced by restlessness and anxiety at the moment.
"| don't what?"
Screech!
It was then the car stopped.
Liam looked at the driver grudgingly.
The driver said in a small voice, "Sir, we're here.”
Liam pursed his lips. Before the bodyguard in the passenger seat opened the door for him, he got out of the car himself. Caprice also nervously opened the door, but before her feet could touch the ground, Liam had come to her side. He bent over, reached out to her waist with both arms, and carried her down the car before heading toward the elevator. Caprice was like a startled kitten in his arms. Her eyes were fixated on his face and she dared not move a muscle. The elevator soon reached his floor.
The door opened and he strode out.
His unit was diagonally across the elevator. This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
After he opened the door, he carried her to the bathroom in his room and finally put her down.
‘Take a shower. I'll wait for you outside.”
Caprice hummed a reply.
He walked out of the bathroom and also closed the door on his way out.
Caprice was finally left alone but her heart pounded wildly.
She could not refrain from thinking that Liam and Heather were not dating.
The shower was turned on and the temperature in the bathroom swiftly rose.
Caprice took a shower and recalled her conversation with Liam along the way, plus how she met Heather and the things that happened in the past two years.
Liam was busy with work in the past two years, so busy that Caprice had not seen him more than ten times.
Every time she met him, he was working outside the office. Even when she ran into him at the club on her 19th birthday, he was there because he had to meet a client.
He only kept Heather by his side because of work, and they never had any intimate contact either.
Even though Heather made it sound like they were close, she always behaved like a responsible subordinate when she was in his presence.
If Heather was truly his girlfriend, he would not simply fire her and would not buy the sunflower ear studs for Caprice in front of her.
Neither would he ignore her when she fell into the water with Caprice and neglect her existence completely. Caprice sighed a breath of relief after learning the truth.
Now that she had soothed her mood, her body felt hot because of the shower.
She turned off the shower and wiped herself clean.
Just when she wanted to go out, she realized she did not have any clothes on.
She wrapped herself with a towel and opened the door into a creak.
Just when she wanted to ask if he had any clean clothes that she could wear, she saw a chair in front of the door with a set of clean pajamas for men.
Her eyes blinked before she reached out to take them in.
After she put on the pajamas, she walked out of the bathroom.
