Right then, Rakel did something that left everyone speechless. He laughed, like the belly kind of laughter. “Dear, come take a seat here. I’ll dish out your food for you. You guys actually came here at the right time.” A heavily pregnant lady said gently from behind the counter “I’m Jesse by the way. That red-haired lady over there is Tasha, blacked-haired are Jenny, Claire, and Diane.” She introduced herself while pointing at each of them.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you all.” I smiled. I must say I feel a little self-conscious standing in their midst since they all look so beautiful like those models you’ll see in articles. Although, none of them is putting on t-shirts like I am, which made me curse at Rakel one more time. They were all dressed in trousers, except for Jesse, who was putting on a maternity gown because of her baby bump.

Diane shook her head and pulled me to the group, “Nonsense, you don’t have to be polite here because we won’t be, now tell us all the juicy of everything that happened between you and our Alpha.”

“We want every detailed information.” Claire chimed in.

I shifted uncomfortably on my feet with the way they were looking at me. What the hell do they want me to say?

I blinked slowly, so now not only will I be Rakel’s mate, but I’ll also get to rule as a Luna? Hell no! I don’t want to be anyone’s Luna.

“Are you all mated?” I asked, looking at them curiously. I must say that they are nothing like I expected, they seem friendly, and they look genuinely happy to see me. When Rakel told me we were headed to the packhouse, I thought I’ll see a room full of wolves, but they are in their human form chatting and laughing care freely like humans. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought they were normal people like me.

“No, the only mated ones here are Jesse, Claire, and Diane. Jenny and Tasha are still searching for theirs.” A familiar voice answered. I turned to see Mira walking in with a knowing smile on her face.

My face reddened with how freely they were talking about their sex life, I know I should be used to such things since my stepdad usually forces me to watch them, but I’m not. Maybe it’s because I haven’t experienced the real thing between a man and a woman.

“So Laney, what did you do to our Alpha?” Tasha asked, making everyone look at me curiously.

“Umm, nothing?” I shrugged.

“Hmm, the Alpha we know would never laugh with anyone, especially a woman! The only business he has with girls is to fuck them!” Diane exclaimed “uhh I mean to say, he hardly laughs with anyone” she added nervously.

“It’s okay, I have an idea of what Rakel used to be like, you don’t have to hide anything,” I said with a smile, even though I wonder why he’s different from me. ‘It’s the mate thing, he would have treated me differently if I’m not his mate.’ I thought.

I decided to lighten up the awkward atmosphere by changing the topic, “Is there a place I can shop for underwear? I’ll also need to get some stuff.”

This question made everyone giggle “You don’t need those Laney, you better wear what Rakel asked you to wear for the time being till he marks and claims you or else, he’d even be grumpier than he is right now.
