Chapter 92
Amelia almost believed Grace was just boasting. Finally, the neighbors got to see Selena's famous, wealthy husband in the flesh. Their doubts vanished, and they joined in on the compliments.
Grace's vanity soared, her grin so wide it seemed to stretch from ear to ear. She beamed, holding Selena's hand in her left and Callum's in her right. "I always said my granddaughter and her husband were a perfect match. It's like they were made for each other!" While Grace basked in joy, Selena wished she could disappear. Why did every meeting with Callum have to be more embarrassing than the last? Things had gone too far to explain now without risking a scene that might upset her grandma. All she could do was shoot Callum an apologetic glance, hoping he'd understand.
Callum caught her look, and with a soft smile and a silent nod, he seemed to say, "No worries, I'm here for you."
Eventually, the onlookers dispersed, and Selena and Callum helped Grace inside.
Grace instructed Marian, her caregiver, to brew some of her prized tea, insisting on treating her 'grandson-in-law' right. Today was her moment to shine!
Selena, however, was mortified. Even though Callum seemed unbothered, she couldn't let this misconception drag on. She was still figuring out how to break the news gently to her grandma, but Grace was already peppering Callum with questions. It wasn't long before she was asking about his daily bathroom habits. Selena couldn't take it anymore. She plopped down next to her grandma, grasped her shoulders, and gently but firmly said, "Grandma, actually, he..."
Just then, the doorbell rang. Selena's
words hung in the air, interrupted. Grace, perplexed, asked, "Who could that be?" Sure, neighbors liked to drop by, but everyone knew today was special-no visitors were expected.
"I'll get it," Callum offered, starting to rise, but Marian placed the tea before him with a grin. "Stay put, Sir. I'll handle it! Probably those nosy neighbors again."
As Marian left, Selena geared up to speak again, but Marian returned quickly, looking flustered. "What's going on?" Grace asked, puzzled.
Marian glanced at Selena, hesitating, "Selena, there's a man outside. He says he's your husband. How is it you have two husbands?"
She barely dared to look at Callum. Grace was shocked, and Selena was taken aback, too. The only one who could claim to be Selena's husband was Everett. Was he here?
Grace awaited an explanation, but
Selena's expression threw her off,
sending her into a panic. With a disappointed shake of her head, she said, "Selena, you've got such a good husband already. How could you...?"

"Yeah, I'd like to know that too. You've got me, so why would you need another?” A deep, cool voice cut through the room as a man strode in. His presence was commanding, a stark contrast to Callum's easygoing charm, exuding an intimidating aura.
His gaze on Selena was icy cold, and the room seemed to freeze.
