Chapter 10: Hamish, I'm Dying

Elisa's lips turned pale as she struggled to speak a series of words, feeling a bit weak. Mechanically, she put on her clothes.

"Hamish, we could have ended this marriage amicably. Since you refuse, I'll have to sue you for domestic violence. See you in court."

Elisa was a woman who wouldn't yield easily, no matter the situation. Even when she was mistreated, she would shed a few tears and quickly regain her composure. Hamish didn’t know where to start to break someone like her, and it was the first time he felt that way.

They often say that once someone experiences enough pain, they won't repeat their mistakes.

Elisa dared to challenge him now, relying on the mighty Powell Group as her support. Without the Powell Group, she would be worth less than a dog.

Originally, he had no interest in acquiring it, but now he realized that he had to take over the Powell Group as soon as possible and bankrupt the Powell family. Only then would Elisa be under his control, obediently following his orders, and becoming a compliant blood bank tool.

Hamish attributed his twisted possessiveness to his hatred for Elisa. He didn’t want to divorce her, but only because he didn’t want to grant her wish.

"It seems that the punishment was too lenient; otherwise, how could you not have learned your lesson!" After saying this, Hamish forcefully grabbed Elisa's hand and pulled her up from the ground.

She felt weightless, as if he was holding a feather. She didn't resemble a woman of 168 cm in height and the weight she should have had.

Elisa, caught off guard by his actions, said, "Let go of me, I can walk on my own!"

Of course, the man wouldn’t listen to her. On the contrary, he tightened his grip around her waist and walked forcefully towards the bedroom.

He threw her onto the bed. Elisa, frightened by Hamish’s appearance, quickly hid in the corner of the bed. No one could endure pain, and what had just happened was already enough.

Hamish watched her movements and sneered, "With your figure, do you really expect me to touch you a second time?"

Elisa lowered her head, pursed her lips, and clenched her hand under the sheets, trembling.

Hamish opened a drawer filled with various items. His gaze casually passed over the medicine bottle, not paying much attention to it, and pulled out a bunch of keys.

"Since you seem to be in good spirits, three days without food shouldn't be a problem for you."

His emotionless words chilled Elisa, and she looked at him in disbelief.

"You want to lock me up here for three days?"

Hamish wasn’t just saying it; his sinister gaze swept over her, slightly restrained. He turned and walked out.

Ignoring the pain in her body, Elisa rolled off the bed and hurriedly followed behind Hamish.

However, how could her severely ill body compare to Hamish? The door in front of her made a loud bang, and the entire wall seemed to shake.

Elisa felt as if she had fallen into an icy-cold water, her pores shrinking. She couldn’t help but tremble, and her clear eyes became misty once again.

She heard the sound of the door locking from outside. Hamish truly intended to leave her locked up here for three days without food.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Three days without eating was unbearable for a normal person, let alone someone in the advanced stages of stomach cancer. Elisa slammed on the door with all her strength. "Hamish, let me out! My stomach hurts, I'm scared, I'm really scared."

Hamish, standing outside the room, locked the door and rattled the keychain. He stared sharply at the closed door, as if he could see Elisa's tearful face through it.

He sneered, “What’s that got to do with me?”

Elisa's body was weaker than before, and she had lost some weight, but her stomach was still fine. It was just three days without food. There was tap water inside, and she wouldn’t die from just water.

He had made up his mind to punish Elisa, to give her a lasting memory, and make her afraid to defy him.

Elisa continued to pound on the door. The room had soundproofing panels, so she wasn't sure if Hamish was still outside. She could only plead with him repeatedly to let her out.

Resting her head against the door, her heart turned cold, and tears fell heavily. "Hamish, I'm going to die."

"Hamish, I'm dying."

"I'm really going to die."
