Chapter 252
Chapter 252
Cynthia did not believe that everything could be resolved with a simple apology.
Joshua said, “Unblock me.”
“Joshua.”
“What?”
“Do you genuinely know you were wrong, or are you just curious about me?” Cynthia exposed him, and her clear eyes were calm. “Because of my identity, my hacking skills, and the poker card that ended up at Chyler’s house.”
Cynthia knew what Joshua was like when he had feelings for her. Even though it was shallow and not love, it was still stronger than what she saw in his eyes just now.
In Joshua’s eyes just now, there was no affection, only a purpose.
Seeing Cynthia point it out, Joshua did not pretend anymore.
In the past few days, Yoel had uncovered the incident at the hotel and the assault on her. However, just as they were about to discover the mastermind behind it all, the situation ended. What they had before them was a person completely unknown to Cynthia, someone with no connection at all.
Even if the evidence pointed to that person, Joshua would not believe it.
He sighed, returned to his seat, and got down to business. “Is there any other identity of yours that I don’t know about?
“Does it concern you?”
“It seems like it does.”
Cynthia remained silent. She did not know what was going on in Joshua’s mind, nor did she care.
“Pretend to be in a relationship with me, and let’s cooperate. Find those who assaulted and framed you at the hotel.” Joshua’s handsome face, favored by the heavens, looked serious.
Cynthia refused, “There’s no need.”
“Cynthia!
“If I’m not in a relationship with you, these things wouldn’t happen.”
With a simple sentence, Joshua caught the key information. “What do you mean?
“I was assaulted, framed at the hotel, Jayleen had an accident, and she lost her innocence. Each and every one of these incidents has only one possibility,” Cynthia explained it clearly to him for the first time.
“What?” Joshua asked.
“They were all done by the same person, with the purpose of removing the females around you. This person likes you.”
Cynthia truly despised these actions and was too lazy to deal with them. Instead of dealing with them, she would rather eam more money and get more sleep.
Joshua almost instantly blurted out, “That’s impossible.”
In his entire life, besides Cynthia and Jayleen, he had not really interacted with any other women. His list of friends consisted mostly of people of the same gender.
Seeing how determined he sounded, Cynthia knew that Joshuur was still the same joslu who could not take her adrice
“I’ve said what needed to be said. After this, I don’t want to see you again and I hope you won’t disturb our lives.” Cynthia genuinely did not want to have any more involvement with him.
“Unblock me first,” Joshua insisted.
Cynthia could not be bothered to argue with him. Hence, she took out her phone and unblocked his number.
Her tone was calm as she said, “Done” Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Upon hearing this, Joshua tested it out. He could send Cynthia messages now, and the calls went through.
Even though he had achieved his goal, for some reason, when he looked at Cynthia’s distant and indifferent expression, he felt a sense of discomfort weighing on his chest.
It was a feeling that could not be easily explained, but it was as if something important had completely left him.
“Now, can you leave?” Cynthia asked.
“Are you doing all of this just to make me leave?” Joshua’s emotions suddenly surged, and his previous restraint disappeared.
Cynthia never concealed her thoughts. “Otherwise? Did you think I forgave you and wanted to reconcile with you as if nothing happened?”
