Chapter 640
Chapter 640
Cynthia looked at Ellora’s now clearly pregnant belly, her eyes softening. “How have you been feeling lately?”
“I’m fine. I can eat and sleep well, and there’s nothing uncomfortable,” Ellora responded. She felt that knowing Cynthia was one of the luckiest things in her life. “What about you? What have you been busy with lately?”
“Busy dealing with a kid,” Cynthia said casually, thinking about Joshua’s behavior.
Ellora, confused, asked, “A kid?”
“Joshua”
“Do you.. still keep in touch with him?”
“It’s a long story and a complicated one. However, he has now returned to Jiverton with Uncle Neal.” Cynthia glossed over the details with a simple statement.
Ellora looked at Cynthia, seemingly torn about whether or not to say something.
“What’s the matter?” Cynthia noticed.
“There’s something I’m not sure if I should tell you.” Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
“It’s fine, whatever it is, you can say it.”
“Something’s been going around in our circle recently. They’re saying that Joshua, the president of Neal Group, seems to be in bad shape. Some even say he might be dead,” Ellora said. Despite her lack of participation in activities, she was part of many Group chats.
Cynthia furrowed her brow. “Who started this?”
“I’m not sure but their arguments seemed plausible, and they even had pictures.” Ellora was only aware of the rumors in the group chat
“Let me see,” Cynthia requested, sensing the seriousness of the situation.
Ellora opened her photo album and showed Cynthia the images she had saved.
There were three pictures in total. One was of Joshua being admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound, another was of hirn in the hospital room post–surgery, and the last was of him being transported from the hospital to a medical base. Judging by the angles of the first and third photos, they were taken from above. The second was shot through an observation window. Sean, the oblivious guy, had been photograplied without even realizing it
“Are these real?” Ellora asked, noticing Cynthia’s increasingly serious expression and surmising the truth.
“Yes, they are. However, he has already made some recovery.” Cynthia confirmed without hiding anything. Ellora was not an outsider.
Ellora breathed a sigh of relief. She did not press for further details about the cause.
Just then, the group chat Ellora was in pinged everyone with a new message, Cynthia did not click on it and was about to return the phone to Ellora, but Ellora let Cynthia keep the phone and clicked on the message herself.
The group chat host had messaged, [OMG! OMG! OMG!OMG!
Following this message, question markes flooded the chat as everyone wondered why the host was so excited.
[Do you remember the message I forwarded in the group chat before? The one about Joshua of the Neal Group, the group chat host continued.
