Chapter 63 It Seemed Like He Had Found Someone He Needed
Brooklyn Powell looked at her. He didn’t move away from his eyes which made Dianna Moss feel creepy.
Actually, Dianna wasn’t very sure, to help Brooklyn make a perfume that can help him sleep wasn’t simple. The undeniable reality was that different people made different perfumes. The type of perfume she made might be functional to Brooklyn but it might lose its function after some time. Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
The best way to guarantee his sleep was to allow the perfumer consistently to mix the perfume for him to make him rest soundly.
Brooklyn smiled out of no reason, he shifted his head and his eyes fell on Dianna’s hand.
She would be nervous as well.
Brooklyn appeared to be feeling better a bit, and his long fingers tenderly tapped on the arm of the couch.
"Would you like to lay down with me constantly, including tonight?"
Brooklyn appeared to grin, with a purposeful smile at the edge of his lips.
He had as of late found that this lady next to him, in spite of the fact that she liked to pretend, but still would get mad for specific things.
For instance, presently, after he finished speaking, Dianna resembled a little hedgehog, and at this point, she was not able to stay calm anymore.
"Mr. Powell, that would only happen in your dream!" The slim leaf-liked eyebrows were raised high, as she looked angry but looked flirtatious.
Dianna would not realize how coquettish her look was right now.
"The effect of the perfume I made for you before might need you to test it yourself when you are back. The effect may change sooner or later, and after the dozing effect dies down, I'll help you make another one."
Dianna said as she took out the perfume from the bureau and gave it to Brooklyn.
"The perfume I made would assure you a long period of soothing rest, in exchange of not participating in the competition. You would definitely be the one who was benefited, wouldn’t you, Mr. Powell?"
Brooklyn didn't hurry to answer Dianna and was playing with the perfume bottle in his grasp between his fingers.
The extremely small container was containing around thirty milliliters of perfume.
"Just a tiny bottle?" Brooklyn said after about a minute of tinkering with the motion.
The edges of Dianna's mouth twitched just a little.
She wasn’t a perfume producer, thirty milliliters wasn’t little for her.
"Don't worry, Mr. Powell, as long as you think the result is excellent, I’ll prepare the second bottle for you!" Dianna softly rolled her eyes at him.
…
Brooklyn sat in his office as he was tapping his hand softly on the keyboard.
When Harper Gibson finished his job and noticed that the light in Brooklyn's office was still on, he couldn't help but softly knock on the door and inquire, "Mr. Powell, isn't you going back now?"
Brooklyn's hand came to a halt on the keyboard, and his long fingers rested on his lips and signalled Harper to keep quiet.
Brooklyn's eyes signalled him to looked aside, but he didn't understand.
Harper slowly turned his head and looked aside. He saw Dianna slept on the table.
Harper's lips twitched. It appeared like Mr. Powell would have to stay here tonight to accompany Anna Miller to work overtime!
Who knew what happened the following second was that Brooklyn pressed the last word then turned off the computer.
He picked up the suit, put it over himself, stepped in front of Dianna, and tapped his finger on the table.
Dianna rubbed her eyes and met Brooklyn’s eyes before realizing her error and slowly became conscious, "Mr. Powell?"
"Let’s get off work," Brooklyn spoke softly.
Dianna yawned, perhaps she was too weary today. As she returned to the office, she fell asleep immediately, but she did not expect that Brooklyn to wake her up.
“Mr. Powell, if the effect after you use it tonight, remember to tell me. If the usage of the effect is not satisfactory, please let me know so that I may improve the formula."
Dianna’s voice had a sleepy tone to it.
Harper was puzzled and confused.
Were Mr. Powell and Anna signalling each other?
Brooklyn was stunned and dropped his gaze.
As he looked at Dianna’s deep eyes and there was a faint smile on his face.
"This evening, add a few drops to the air purifier."
Brooklyn gave the order.
As ordered by Brooklyn, the maid nodded and placed the perfume in the air purifier.
Brooklyn had been suffering from insomnia for six years and had always relied on Mirabelle Moss’ perfume to mitigate it.
It was obvious this bottle was not Mirabelle’s, and she was not sure where the young master got it.
The maid had concerns and returned after finishing everything and said, "Mr. Powell, it's all done."
Brooklyn laid back on the bed as he closed his eyes.
The servant did not dare to say anything further and exited the room.
"Brooklyn, he also does not require me to accompany him tonight?" Mirabelle tightened her grip on the corner of her coat outside the door.
"Mr. Powell just instructed me to put fresh perfume in the air purifier, which he presumably just got today." The maid responded politely.
Mirabelle was shocked.
She quickly moved her lips: "Is there a fresh perfume? How could I have missed this? How did you figure out it was a new perfume?"
There was a feeling of impending doom.
Mirabelle’s voice was too loud, and when she realized her age, her tone softened again: "I mean if the origin of Brooklyn’s perfume is unknown..."
Brooklyn scrambled to find a reason to explain.
The maid was just terrified of Brooklyn and said with her voice a bit shaky, "That is also what the young master requested, Miss Moss, if you are worried, you may go to the home and speak to the young master..."
Mirabelle considered it and softly knocked on the room's door.
"Brooklyn, are you there? I'm Mirabelle, and I'd want to talk to you about something..."
Brooklyn frequently suffered from insomnia and couldn’t go to bed at a reasonable hour.
Because there was no sound at this moment, Mirabelle decided to push open the door.
Brooklyn was found with his eyes closed and fell asleep.
How could that be possible? Mirabelle’s eyes were wide open.
Was there someone who could create a scent that would make Brooklyn fall asleep?
...
The following day, early in the morning.
Brooklyn unusually didn’t follow his biological clock.
The alarm clock above his bed vibrated a few times before he switched it off and got out of bed.
It was 7:30 in the morning.
Brooklyn checked the time and pulled his gaze away from the clock as he discreetly leaned against the head of the bed.
He'd been getting more and more sleep every day since Anna became his assistant.
But she could only stay with him for a brief period of time at midday, and when he needed to relax after going home at night, he had to rely on the sleeping oil by others.
"What time did I fall asleep the night before?" In hushed tones, Brooklyn inquired of the maid.
The maid lowered her head and said, "When you returned to the home yesterday, you fell asleep, Mr. Powell. Miss Moss paid you a visit..."
For a little while, Brooklyn’s fingers which were rubbing his brow stopped.
For a long time, he hadn't slept well.
"Mr. Powell? Mr. Powell?"
Brooklyn regained consciousness and signalled the maid to go first.
The sleeping perfume that Dianna had specifically created for the guy was in the glass bottle on the bedside table.
The long and thin fingers took up the translucent glass bottle and caressed it carefully.
Brooklyn gazed at the glass bottle for three seconds before smiling.
He seemed to have discovered the right person for him.
