Chapter 12
Chapter 012 Colette Town Looked down at Wancy who was only as high as her waist line, Annette reached out her hand from her pocket to muss his head.
"See it? You are not going to a school, but the army."
Wancy drooped his head.
"Yes."
His childish voice went low.
Annette lowered her body, looked into his eyes and said with a rarely serious tone, "Wancy, you are a genius, but you are too weak.
Should there be any real trouble, I’m not sure if I could be able to protect you."
"I see."
Wancy’s eyes were red with tears.
"But I want to stay with you."
Annette held him in her arms and tapped his back.
"Be a good boy."
Wancy couldn't help sobbing, but managed to wipe his tears and gritted his teeth.
"Annette, when I’m back, I will batter whoever that hurts you!"
Annette beamed and held his little shoulders.
"Who dares to hurt me? I’ve got bricks in my hand!"
"There should only be sweet cakes and milk tea in your hand in the future! It will be my job to get those who hurt you to come home to roost!"
Wancy opened his lips which had been tightly compressed, looking at Annette firmly with his clear and crystal big eyes.
"Alright."
Annette laughed, caressing his face.
"Be a good boy there.
Keep low profile.
No heroics.
OK?"
Wancy pulled the straps of his black backpack up.
"Well noted.
Wait for me to come back!"
"Go, good boy!"
Annette stood up.
Wancy kept a straight face and headed toward the car, turning his back to Annette.
He dared no to turn his head round, afraid he would fail to control his tears.
Veromca told the leading officer Carl, "He's a bright boy.
He will have a good prospect if well trained."
"I see.
You think we would neglect the man you recommend? "
Carl replied.
Veromca clapped his arm.
"That's why I call you my friend!"
"When do you plan to go back to your Lancaster family?"
Carl asked.
"It might be hard for Old Mrs Lancaster to cope with her illness this time.
Whatever grudge there is, she is your mother after all.
And every one in your family is hatching their own plot now."
Hardly had Carl finished his words, Veromca’s phone rang.
Noticing the call was from Colette Town, Veromca’s heart jolted.
His face turned pale at the conversation on the phone.
"I'll hurry home."
He said to the other end of the phone.
Carl frowned, "What's the matter?"
Veromca looked solemn, "My mother has deteriorated.
Carl, may I use your private jet?"
Carl ordered his staff, "Do it at once."
"Yes."
One officer replied.
Knowing the situation was urgent, Carl said fast, "Get on and I'll send you to the airport."
"Thanks."
Veromca thanked Carl and then locked Annette with his eyes, whispering, "Annette, I..."
"Let's go."
Annette cut in.
Veromca nodded gratefully, with his hands slightly shaking out of anxiety.
"Hope we won't be too late."
Carl's sharp eyes swept through Annette casually and something profound emerged in them.
Colette Town.
Annette and Veromca were stepping off the jet.
"Annette, you'll be led to Lancaster House as I'd better not show up there."
Veromca quickly added his explanation, "My appearance will only make it a worse mess at the moment."
Because here might be malicious speculation if he showed up now after twenty years’ absence.
Annette replied tonelessly, "It doesn't matter."
She was here only to return a favor.
Veromca led Annette out of the airport and went straight to a black off-road car at the side of the road.
As the window of driver's seat was winding down, Waynett, who was at the passenger seat, arched his eyebrows when he saw the girl next to Veromca.
Driver Glen's eyes popped at the sight of Annette.
"Young master, isn't she..." This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
Master Veromca had promised to bring a doctor.
Did he mean this girl? What did she know, so young a girl!
