Chapter 745
Chapter 745
Vera found Skylar’s presence revolting. After all, her relationship with Joe was in a grey area.
Molly knew what Vera was hinting at. They met up occasionally while overseas. She understood the pride that flowed in Vera’s blood.
However, Molly knew that others had no idea about Jeremy’s marriage.
“You’ve said yourself Skylar is just his lover. Joe hasn’t dated anyone for the past few years. He will break up with her in a bit. Don’t worry. You can talk to him like how you usually do.”
After getting humiliated, Molly loathed Skylar with all her might.
The more Joe valued Skylar, the more motivated she was to tear them apart.
Vera didn’t agree or disagree. She only said, “I’ll leave it up to fate.”
Joe had just seen Rowan’s message. It read, “Skylar and I ran into Vera. I think Sylar knows her. I saw the video of you and Vera in the morning too.”
As he read the message, he thought of how cold Skylar had been toward him last night. Had she seen the video?
As Skylar drove to Galaxy Villa, she received money from Rowan in her account. He’d transferred a million dollars to her as an appreciation.
Before she could say anything, Rowan sent a voice message. He said, “Hiring a divination master would cost us tens of millions of dollars. You’ve saved us all. You must take the money. There’s no need to send me a response.”
Skylar accepted it. She replied, “I’ll take it.”
When she got home, Skylar began to head upstairs for an afternoon nap.
She took a few steps up the stairs. Then, she heard noises behind her. When Skylar turned back, she saw that Joe had come home.
It wasn’t even 3:00 pm yet. It wasn’t the end of the workday. Why had he come
home?
“Did you see the video?” asked Joe.
Skylar’s footsteps paused. She said, “Yeah. It has gone viral.”
“Don’t believe it,” said Joe as he walked over. He affixed Skylar with a deep
gaze.
Skylar smiled. She said, “Alright, I’m a little tired. I’ll take a nap now.”
Joe watched Skylar walk upstairs. She didn’t even ask him about his relationship with Vera. He couldn’t help but frown.
Did she believe him? Or did she not care?

Skylar had only wanted to take a short 15–minute nap.
When she woke up an hour later, Joe wasn’t home.
She prepared a simple dinner.
As she ate, a call came in all of a sudden. It was from Steven.
Steven had been busy. If not for their calls during Charles‘ crisis, they seldom
chatted.
“Steven.”
“What are you up to?”
Skylar glanced at her pasta. She replied, “I’m having dinner. Have you eaten?”
“I’m eating dinner right now,” replied Steven.
Steven sounded off. She put her fork now and asked, “Are you feeling ill?” Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
“I’ve got a bit of a cold. It’s nothing. I’m already getting better. After everything that happened to Charles, I haven’t gotten the chance to talk to you. How are things with Joe?”
Skylar smiled and replied, “We’ve been getting along well. You don’t need to worry, Steven. Do you have time to go home when Mom’s birthday rolls around?
“Yeah. I’ve been working overtime to get my work done. Charles will be able to

make time for it as well. Invite Joe to come with us. Charles‘ crisis wouldn’t have been averted if not for him,” said Steven.
