Willow added worriedly, "Mr. Hughes, Deborah has always been jealous of me, but she only spread the rumors because she was instructed to do so. Their objective is to get me kicked out of Hughes Corporation." "Willow, don't make things up if you don't have proof! Nobody instructed me to do anything. I did it all on my own accord." Deborah glared nervously at Willow.

"I definitely heard you in the stairway..." Willow said.

"Did you hear me talking to myself?" Deborah cut her off.

She was certain Willow had not seen that person. There were also no surveillance cameras in the stairwell. As such, there was no evidence Willow could use to find that person.

Regardless of what Willow said, nobody would believe her.

Willow could tell what Deborah was thinking from the look in her eyes.

Willow was about to speak, but she suddenly realized she certainly did not have any evidence.

Jasper would not believe her without any evidence.

In the end, Willow had to bite her tongue.

"I don't have a strong heart. I tend to talk to myself when I've done something guilty. You overheard me doing that. I admit it," Deborah explained. Her motive was to get Mr. Hughes to believe in what she said. "Enough!" Jasper was mad.

His cold yet rageful voice made Deborah shiver.

Willow's shoulders also shuddered when she heard him yelling.

"Deborah, you'll be punished for spreading rumors that affect the company's image. You'll lose half of your annual salary, and you'll also be fired for good! Now, get out!" Jasper uttered. Deborah was devastated when she heard her annual salary would be deducted by half, but Jasper was too domineering. She did not dare to argue. Terrified, she ran out of the office. Jasper then shifted his cold gaze to Willow. "What are you still doing here?"

Willow shivered and quickly proceeded to leave.

"Mr. Hughes, we've caught the spy." Right then, Edith walked hastily into the office.

When Edith saw Willow leaving, she grabbed Willow by her sleeve and dragged her to the desk. "Willow, you've gotten yourself in trouble. You have to assist in the investigation!" Willow frowned. She had no idea what happened.

Edith was holding a USB drive.

She connected it to a computer and used a projector in the office to play a surveillance clip.

In the clip, Willow could be seen cleaning up a conference room. Suddenly, she noticed a stack of documents on the desk. She walked over and moved closer to look at it.

Edith started explaining. "Willow, you

stole Hughes Corporation's fashion design plan and sold it to our competitor, As a result, Hughes Corporation's fashion show today was thoroughly screwed. Some people even claimed that we plagiarized our competitor's plan. Are you aware that stealing corporate secrets and selling them

to a competitor is a crime?"

Willow's heart went cold, and her limbs became numb. She felt wronged. "It wasn't me. I didn't steal anything."

"Based on your profile, you were once caught stealing. This won't be the first time. How can you still say you didn't steal anything?" Edith looked at Willow in a judgmental manner.

Not long ago, Samantha hadnoveldrama

brought a document that contained fake information on Willow. It was written in the document that Willow was once imprisoned due to the crime she committed.

After Willow was exposed for using Lara's identity to get hired, she was prepared to get fired. Back when Samantha came looking for Jasper and shared Willow's information with him, she also included the fact that Willow once stole something and was caught.

Willow had overheard what Samantha shared about her.

Samantha was clearly trying to make her look bad.

Although Willow was ready to explain herself, Jasper was engulfed in rage at the time. Willow also felt guilty about stealing her mother's identity.
