Even then, Leah had a thousand ways to kill Billy. She just could not let her own daughter hate her.
“I’ll wait for the result of the DNA paternity test you do then.”
Liliane was delighted and quickly said, “I’ll go get it done at the hospital tomorrow.”
“Oh, right, didn’t you say that Esther’s dying? Do you want to try her heart?”
“Mom, you mean…

Liliane could not be too emotional due to her heart problem. The biggest issue with that was, of course,
the inability to have children.
“I hope my daughter has a healthy heart.”
“Okay, I’ll go ask the doctor tomorrow…‘
Leah stopped Liliane as soon as she said that. “Liliane, I’ll handle this. Don’t get involved. If it gets
exposed one day, you can stay out.”
“Mom, you’re too good to me.”
Liliane hugged Leah tightly, and the latter swiped a finger across the tip of her daughter’s nose, saying
jealously, “I’m so good to you, but you still think of that jerk of a man?”
“Aww, Mom, that’s my dad!”
“And I’m your mother!”
“My mom’s the best! My mom’s awesome! My mom’s the best mother in the world!”
After Bradley left the Ansteys‘, he drove straight back to the hospital. He did not go to Felix’s room
directly, but his feet somehow brought him to Esther’s ward.
Esther was in the ICU currently, and the ICU wards had standard visiting hours.
Bradley was an exception, though. He was the boss of this hospital, so he had the right to enter the
ICU anytime he wanted.
“Mr. Warner,” the nurse on duty said a little shakily when she saw Bradley, who was like an ice–cold
statue the moment she came over to do her rounds.
Bradley reeled his cold gaze from Esther, who was in the ward, to look at the nurse, saying with a cold
voice, “I want to go in.”
“Please follow me.”
The nurse put a sterile suit on Bradley and handed him a mask. She purposely knelt in front of him and

Bradley ignored the nurse’s deliberate actions. He exuded a chilling aura and pushed open the door to
the ICU ward with an indifferent face.
The smell of disinfectant permeated the room.
When Bradley walked to Esther’s side, his heart felt like it had been stabbed deeply with a knife, and
he was in unbearable pain.
He instinctively reached out and supported himself on the bed, his large hand landing on Esther’s
cold hand.
The coldness spread through Bradley’s body from his fingertips like a tiny electric current flowing into
his body.
“Beep…”
The piercing alarm sounded sharply in the quiet ward.
