My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2120

Chapter 2120

With the half-burnt candle over our heads, Hendrix held me in his embrace as he leaned against the head of the bed. We both spent the afternoon fooling around, but neither of us were sleepy.

Silence enveloped the room. As my fingers fiddled with the quilt over Hendrix's body, my thoughts drifted.

Married couples had the most intimate yet distant relationships in the world. Once the shared enthusiasm dissipated, the lucky ones would still stay together without interaction. While more often, they would grow tired of each other and only a few got to love each other for a lifetime. We were greatly honored to be amongst the lucky ones.

After six years of deep slumber, we ended up together once more. At the time, however, I felt less attracted and impulsive than I had been, but such feelings disappeared that day. Romance and ceremoniousness were always the magical techniques for reigniting the flames of love.

Who could resist a man's long and heartfelt confession when he was a man of few words? It was not an exaggeration to say that it felt like I had returned to my twenties, the age where I suffered the greatest from having a crush on Hendrix. Right then, my young hopes were cherished as I had hoped for, and I felt as if my entire wounded soul had gotten mended. Days of grudges and grievances were a thing of the past, and as I looked back on them, I found that they were not as excruciatingly painful to think about as they used to be.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Mrs. Roberts, what are you thinking about?" Hendrix's hoarse and maic voice sounded. Even the air in the room was enveloped in a soft, loving

aura.

Changing into a more comfortable position, I leaned in closer to him. "I was wondering why you returned to Ucrebury without informing me. I could have brought our kids to visit Grandpa."

Hendrix chuckled and rubbed his thick palm against my shoulder, saying, "Why do you think I recorded the proposal video in the Roberts Mansion? Grandpa should feel relieved now."

He paused for a moment before mumbling to himself, "I've let the Roberts family down."

Nathan's selfishness and narrow-mindedness had ruined the Roberts. Hendrix's regrets would run on forever.

No one could fight against time. The deceased had left, and the living could only do their best to comfort themselves. Only when one lived in the present would they not let the efforts of the former down.

Realizing that he was upset, I comforted him by getting up and giving him a peck on his cheek. I wrapped my arms around his neck like a pendant as I coyly muttered, "Grandpa won't be mad if he knew about Wynn's existence. Are you sure you want to talk about this on our wedding night?"

I did not care much about the taboo of ghosts and gods. All I wanted was for him not to be in low spirits at this time.

Hendrix smiled and inched closer to me, deliberately exhaling his hot breath against my ears, "Oh, I almost forgot - a moment of spring night is worth

a thousand dollars. If you've had enough rest, it's time to get back to business."

If we were head over heels for each

other, it didn't take much to send our insides on a frenzy when our partners flirted. While my face tingled and my mind whirled, I took a great effort to remain calm. I got up from his arms and aggressively changed the subject, "I'm hungry. Please make some omelette fried rice for me."

Hendrix looked at me in disbelief, wondering if he had misheard me. "Mrs. Roberts, don't you think that omelette fried rice will ruin the atmosphere of a time like this?"

Annoyed, I pulled the quilt and

wrapped myself up. As soon as I

came around, I realized that Hendrix I was stark naked. I turned around in embarrassment and demanded, "I don't care. If I don't get to eat it and am still hungry, you can forget about getting your hunger satisfied!"

The quiet house resounded with a long sigh, followed by the sound of him reluctantly getting dressed.

The corners of my mouth curled in triumph, and I knew without looking that he would not push his luck and held strongly to the "Wife First" principle.

As I was snickering, I heard Hendrix saying indifferently, "Get dressed, let's go to the night market."

"I'm not going." I crossed my arms as a sign of refusal. "I'm tired, and you caused all this, so you're at fault! Go get it alone!"

"Ny-nine couples are attending the ceremony. Are you sure you don't want to see it?" Hendrix put his wedding robe on as he talked, not forgetting to send me seductive, mystifying looks every chance he got.
