My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2174

Chapter 2174

Irvin and Shirley walked into the church. Mission complete. I heaved a long sigh of relief before I tapped on the tablet in the car.

The church had surveillance cameras from all directions that let people watch the wedding live.

The car door opened, and Hendrix appeared on the roadside. He got in the car and sat beside me. His hand reached over my head and pulled me into his embrace. We hugged each other as we watched the wedding through the screen.NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

Irvin took his time with every step he made as his smile grew wider. He did not look ill at all.

The veil masked Shirley's face. She matched her pace with Irvin's. With every step she took, every sway of the dress was expressing how lovely she felt right at that moment.

The church had been renovated. The center of the hall was an altar with candle holders on it. A couplet was on each side of the altar. The writings on them were words of the uneasiness of marriages.

"In front of the jade mirror platform is a beautiful conversation. The person before the silver mirror platform is like jade."

Evan, dressed in a green gown, stood on the stage as the witness and host.

"Are you ready?"

Upon hearing this, Irvin's smile suddenly faded. He turned to look at Shirley beside him.

After a moment of silence, a woman's low voice came from under the veil, "Yes."

Her answer was simple and short, enough to prevent her identity from getting exposed.

Instantly, Irvin dispelled all his worries and said loudly, "I've been waiting for nearly ten years for this. We don't need to wait anymore. Let's begin." Evan nodded, got himself ready, and became serious. "May the newlywed bow!"

"First, bow to Heaven and Earth!"

Irvin glanced at the woman dressed in a wedding dress while he lowered his head, giving a deep bow.

"Second bow to the royal family."

He straightened his back, turned his head, his gaze still fixated on her. After the second bow, before Evan could speak, he turned to face the woman beside him, ready to bow to his soon-to-be wife.

"May the bride and groom bow..." "Wait."

With the words "to each other" stuck in his throat, Irvin cut him off and said apologetically, "Sorry, wait a minute."

After that, his eyes became gentle again. He stared at Shirley who was now in front of him. His eyes were clear and bright as if he had seen through everything.

Sitting in the car, I couldn't help but stiffen. Did he know?

A moment later, Irvin smiled as he breathed lightly.

"That's enough." Irvin looked down as if he was telling himself, "Getting here is enough for me. Loving you was worthwhile."

He paused, and when he looked up, his eyes were full of tears and bloodshot.

"I've always known that you love

Hendrix and not me, but I could never understand, nor had I been content with it. I've never hurt you but why were you so reluctant to give me a chance? I think I finally got it now."

"If it were me, no matter whether Hendrix was dead or alive right now, I would never give you up. He was willing to support you and your compassion, but all I wished for was for us to stay together until the end." "I lost, but I won't give up. Not being able to love you in the way you want means that I don't love you enough."

His heart must have felt like it was getting ripped apart. Tears escaped the corners of his eyes, yet he wasn't even aware of it.

Unsure if it was a problem with the surveillance camera angles, but from my perspective, Irvin's face changed in a second. At this moment, he looked like a patient who was deathly ill.

"You are stubborn enough to never

be with me And I was willing to hold on to you for so many years. Neither of us was willing to give in. Why were we even fighting against each other anyway? Who knew I'd be carrying this fight into my grave?"
