Chapter 2227
Chapter 2227
I slowly parted my lips and began to breathe heavily. I glanced at Andrea weakly. "Do you dare to challenge me again?" Of course, Andrea didn't care about my life. She just kept shouting, "Well, then go to h*ll! I don't care if you die at all!"
"Andrea!" Hendrix growled. He looked at me horrified at what had happened, but yelled at Andrea harshly. "You'd better keep Arianna safe. If there are any problems, I'll personally hold you responsible. You should know how horrifying this will be when I take revenge on someone."
"What's there to be afraid of at this point in my life?" Not only was Andrea unfazed, she even seemed impatient. "Forget it. You're such a party pooper."
She took two steps away with her high heels and stopped again to say, "You'd better not die so fast. My revenge has onoly just begun." With that, she left.
As we heard the sound of a car driving off, Hendrix carefully took the fruit knife from under my arm and threw it away before breathing out a sigh of relief.
Our eyes met and we stayed silent for some time before finally smiling at each other.
"We work pretty well together. Mr. Roberts, have you considered being an actor?" I teased.
Hendrix frowned and said, "You nearly scared the sh*t out of me. Did you know that my heart was about to jump out? Don't ever do that again."
He looked like he had a veil of fatigue over him as he sighed. He looked like he had aged by ten full years.
I reached out and held his face, forcing him to look into my eyes. I then smoothed out the wrinkles between his eyebrows with my thumb. "I'm not joking. You shouldn't frown either."
Hendrix laughed bitterly for a while then wrapped his arms around me. He was as docile as a sheep. His voice sounded hoarse but warm, "Okay."
I wasn't a meek woman. Ensuring he knew the seriousness of this matter, I grabbed his collar and warned him sternly, "Next time, it won't be an act."
The glow in his eyes dimmed. He looked at me in pain once again. His hand reflexively pinched my waist. As his voice grew heavy, his grip on me became tighter. "You can't do that ever again." Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
He gritted his teeth as he said this. It sounded like a threat.
But for me, it felt like a stimulant. It made me feel that Hendrix's rationality depended on me.
It only takes one wrong move for everything to descend into hell. So long as I remained rational, nothing would happen to him.
The room suddenly felt tense and suffocating. I giggled until I felt a sharp pain in my waist. I then jumped up and down in Hendrix's arms like a rabbit.
Hendrix was eager to teach me a lesson about not taking my life seriously. After some pushing around, I finally pressed him down on the sofa.
Hendrix's thick eyebrows furrowed once again. His mouth moved, but he couldn't speak. He could only look at me with grief to show that he was
innocent.
