Chapter 1297
Chapter 1297
Mason shook his head, Tm not entirely sure about the details. I just remember it was quite serious. He was unconscious for three days. Liam doesn’t like to talk about it, so we didn’t pry
The reality was even worse than Mason made it sound. During the days Liam was unconscious, the doctor had issued several critical condition notices. The longer a person was unconscious from drowning, the higher the chance of brain death.
The Reed family even started contacting funeral services. Fortunately, Liam pulled through. He was on the brink of death and then came back to life
Anyone with that kind of experience would be scared of water. It was no wonder Liam didn’t want to learn to swim.
Liam watched from afar as Celeste and Mason chatted.
He’d been paddling around with his swim ring for a while and only managed to ‘swim a meter.
He never thought swimming was that important before. But now, he felt it was necessary to learn!
The result of not knowing how to swim was that others were chasing after Celeste in the pool while he could only watch from the side with his swim ring Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
It was just swimming! Was there anything he couldn’t learn?
Liam took a deep breath and went underwater, practicing breathing as Celeste had just taught him.
It was uncomfortable at first.
Due to his fear of water, he felt a little panicked as soon as he went under.
But thinking of Celeste’s instructions, he gradually calmed down and even started getting the hang of it.
Celeste wasn’t just chatting with Mason.
She would glance at Liam from time to time while chatting.
Seeing him practicing his breathing, she felt a bit relieved. But soon, she felt something was off.
Liam had been underwater for half a minute and hadn’t come up.
She felt a sudden tightening in her chest. Without saying a word to Mason, she immediately swam towards Liam.
When she got to the swim ring, Liam still hadn’t emerged. Celeste dove back into the water.
Before she could see what was happening at the bottom of the pool, a pair of hands suddenly wrapped around her waist, and then soft lips were pressed against hers.
Relieved but also annoyed at Liam for messing with her, Celeste pried open his mouth and sucked all the air out of it.
Liam was a beginner after all. He couldn’t handle this kind of teasing. He quickly ran out of oxygen and pushed her away, surfacing and panting heavily, clutching his swim ring.
Celeste came up shortly after, snickering, “Amateur!”
Liam shot her a glance, “You, irresponsible coach! Ditching me halfway to go swimming with someone else, huh?”
Celeste retorted, “Who’s putting on a show here, acting like they’re struggling to breathe?”
Liam was taken aback, lowered his voice, and said, “I really am uncomfortable,”
“You’re just throwing a tantrum because I’m here, aren’t you? Weren’t you uncomfortable when you got hurt practicing gymnastics? Did you throw tantrums at your coach, hoping he’d coddle you?”
Liam was confused.
Why on earth would he let his coach hold him?
“If you want to learn, then get serious about it. Don’t think you can pull the wool over my eyes with your little antics. If you try to pull this crap when you’re actually drowning, the water won’t be so forgiving.”
Liam thought to himself, if he couldn’t swim, he wouldn’t get in the water. How could he possibly drown?
Even though he knew Celeste meant well, Liam still felt a bit rebellious, but he didn’t argue back.
He asked quietly, “So, were you serious about what you just said?”
