My Wife Is A Masquerade Master

Chapter 55

Chapter 55

In just one night, Madison became the enemy of the internet. Dirty labels like a gold digger, shameless woman, and all sorts of other derogatory terms were attached to her.

Madison’s phone was almost blown up with calls, but she didn’t answer any of them. She simply turned it off and slept until noon the next day.

The doorbell rang, and Madison thought Margaret had delivered some daily necessities. To her surprise, it was

Hazel.

Seeing Madison’s sleepy appearance, Hazel couldn’t help but tease, “Miss Guzman is truly remarkable. Even when the world is on fire, you can remain unperturbed.”

“Did Ross send you here?”

“Yes, he was worried that you might not cope well alone, so he asked me to keep you company.”

Madison smiled. Having experienced near-death twice, she wasn’t afraid of such incidents.

The first time, she almost died on the operating table during a kidney transplant. The second time was the bone- chilling marriage of the past three years. But she had managed to go through the setbacks.

“I’m fine. Tell Ross not to do anything these days, just wait for my instructions.”

Hazel exclaimed, “I was truly impressed. After being humiliated like this, you can still sit so calmly. Your enemies will only push their luck.”

Madison opened a bottle of red wine and filled two glasses. “I checked, most of the online rumors come from an entertainment company, and Daisy is the one recently involved with them.”

“What? It’s Daisy slandering you?” said Hazel.

Madison raised an eyebrow. “Considering my relationship with her, she shouldn’t have gone so far to ruin me.”

“So, what’s your plan for retaliation?”

“Since she wants trouble, let’s help her with it. I want to escalate the matter and keep an eye on her. Daisy was

not intelligent and wouldn’t come up with such malicious schemes on her own. There’s probably a mastermind behind her,” said Madison.

Hazel realized Madison was holding back and got excited. “Rest assured, causing trouble is my specialty.”

An hour later, more news about Madison was released, and each one quickly rose to the top of the trending lists on various websites.

Daisy, seeing the online backlash, gleefully called Alison. “Alison, have you seen it? Madison is already being cursed by netizens. Let’s see how arrogant she can be in the future!”

Alison was delighted, but she pretended to be concerned. “Be careful not to be discovered by Neville. I don’t want you to start fighting again.”

“Don’t worry. Neville is on a business trip. He won’t pay attention to her affairs, especially after they have divorced. No one would care about her,” replied Daisy.

In Croginia, Neville had just concluded a round of negotiations. The other party was driving a hard bargain, yet Neville stood firm, preventing them from pushing any unfavorable conditions onto him. The conference room still c r a c k l e d with the tension long after everyone had left.

Ryan knocked on the door and walked in, pulling a chair and sitting down. “Neville, Smith’s people left with sullen faces. It seems like they didn’t gain any advantage. Nice shot. You’ve always been ruthless, even more so

when dealing with women.”

Neville heard an implication in Ryan’s words and raised an eyebrow. “Just cut the cr a p . What do you want to

say?”

Ryan clicked his tongue. “I don’t admire you for anything except your ruthless decisiveness. Madison has been with you for three years, and now that she’s in trouble, you’ve distanced yourself quite effectively.”

As soon as Neville heard Madison’s name, he furrowed. “What is sho

up to again?”

“Didn’t you see the trending news? Your ex-wife is now the enemy of the entire internet.”

Neville had touched down in Croginia the previous evening and immediately made his way to the conference

room without delay. Unbeknownst to him, his phone had been on silent mode, and upon checking it now, her discovered a flood of missed calls from his friends, numbering in the dozens.

He didn’t bother responding to them and opened a webpage. By sheer coincidence, he stumbled upon the trending topic of Madison’s alleged affair with Ross. The webpage displayed numerous high- resolution pictures capturing their seemingly intimate moments.

Neville inexplicably felt a surge of anger as he stared at those pictures.

Annoyed, he tugged at his collar and coldly uttered a few words, “She asks for the trouble.”

He had given Madison a fair warning. Ross was no good, constantly fooling around with women and carrying a notorious reputation. When such affairs were brought to light, it typically ended in losses for the women

involved.

Ryan seemed surprised by Neville’s reaction and said, “Neville, if you still have feelings for Madison, I suggest you play the hero. Now is a good opportunity.”

Neville looked at the photos on his phone, his face not as unpleasant as before. He slammed the phone on the table and said, “Do you think I will go back to her?”

Ryan chuckled helplessly. “Well, I shouldn’t have mentioned this. But if you really don’t have feelings for Madison, I might make a move.”

Neville gave him a cold glance. “You can pursue her, but we’re no friends anymore.”

Ryan laughed, seemingly amused by Neville’s reaction. “Well, Neville, seems like you can’t let go.

“I just don’t want to frequently see someone who annoys me,” Neville said.

Ryan didn’t say anything more and left with a smile.

Bernard, upon entering the office, saw Neville’s sullen look. He lightened his footsteps and carefully placed the negotiation documents by Neville’s side. “Mr. Preston, regarding Smith’s…” Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Neville suddenly interrupted him with a cold tone, “Do you know that Madison is in trouble?”

Bernard, who had already seen the gossip, was considering whether to tell him or not. Unexpectedly, Neville asked about it proactively. “Yes,” replied him.

Neville suppressed his anger. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

Bernard wore a bitter smile. “Last time you warned me, saying you had cut all ties with Miss Guzman, and anything related to her should not be brought up to bother you.”

Neville was choked by his words. It took a while before he said, “Once my marriage with her is exposed, it will damage the reputation of the Preston family, won’t it?”

Bernard immediately recounted everything he had heard about Madison.

As Neville listened to the entire story, an unexpected change came over his face. His eyes shifted to the webpage on his phone, and in that moment, a realization struck him. The person who had checked into the hotel with Madison wasn’t anyone else but himself.

The photos only captured his back and a blurry side profile. Yet even that was still more appealing than Ross, the p l a y b o y.

The photos of Madison h o o k i n g up with a wealthy man in a Koenigsegg were probably a misunderstanding. That Koenigsegg was Elianna’s, and Madison was her assistant. Riding in the car was understandable.

It was clear that the person leaking information didn’t know the truth.

“Has Madison responded to this?” asked Neville.

“No.” Bernard paused for a moment and added, “I think Miss Guzman is waiting for you to come to her rescue.

Neville raised an eyebrow and asked, “Why?”
