Chapter 865 You're Always Sweet
Chapter 865 You're Always Sweet
Sydney realized it. There was a trace of embarrassment on her face.
After all, Julien was aggrieved.
He had sent her many things, such as clothes, jewelry, flowers, and so on. He wanted to give her everything good.
When they first got back together, he almost gave her gifts every day. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Yet she felt pressured because she had been receiving his things, but she could not give him things of the same value in return.
After being refused by her many times, he finally stopped giving her gifts crazily.
Thus, she was greatly relieved at that time.
So she didn't know that Grandma had even said he was stingy.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know." Sydney lowered her head apologetically.
Julien rubbed the back of her head. "Well, I'm not blaming you. I know why you do not want to accept my gifts, but in fact, you take them too seriously. We are lovers, and later we will be married. We are the closest people to each other. Whatever I give you, you can just take it for granted because that represents my love for you. Every time you refuse, I feel that I have not done well enough, so you are not willing to accept my gifts."
"That's not true." Sydney shook her head. "I just..."
Julien cut her off, "I just can't help thinking that way sometimes. Yet I know very well the real reason that you refuse my gifts. It's just that I hope that you can be a little more relaxed in the future and
accept at least some of them because I love you, okay?"
He looked at her expectantly.
Sydney pondered whether she had done something wrong by refusing all his gifts.
She thought of Julien's gloomy and disappointed face every time she refused his gifts.
Sydney felt sorry for him.
She tried to stand in his shoes. If she happily prepared the best gifts for Julien, but he directly rejected them without even looking at them, how would she feel in her heart?
In short, she would certainly not be delighted. Instead, she would feel that she was disliked or that her gifts were not good enough.
Anyway, she wouldn't feel good.
Thinking about this, Sydney looked at Julien again and understood her previous mistake.
She forced a smile at him and then nodded. "Okay, from now on, I won't refuse everything from you. No matter what you give me, I like them and will consider accepting them, but don't give me anything too expensive."
She couldn't afford to give him things of the same value.
"No problem." Julien listened to Sydney's words and answered with a slight smile.
In fact, he wanted to say that with his wealth, he didn't think his gifts for her were expensive.
After all, he had a lot of money.
But for her, they were indeed extravagant.
It seemed that in the future, he should pick gifts with moderate prices.
But when they got married, it would be fine.
By then, if he wanted to give her something, she couldn't refuse like this.
She refused his gifts because she thought they were just dating and that their relationship might end at any time. They were not a married couple, so she felt it was improper to accept his gifts.
When they got married, all the problems would be solved.
But marriage...
Julien's eyes flashed. Then his gaze fell meaningfully on Sydney.
If he asked her to marry him as soon as possible, would she agree?
Seemingly sensing something strange in the man's eyes, Sydney blinked and asked, "What's wrong?"
Julien shook his head slightly. "I'm just happy."
"Why?" Sydney asked, looking at him.
Julien curved his lips. "You are finally willing to accept my gifts."
Sydney stuck her tongue out awkwardly. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize I would hurt you by refusing your gifts. I seem a little selfish."
"No." Julien shook his head. "It's also because I often try to give you gifts, which makes you feel pressured. We were both wrong."
Sydney laughed, "Then we'll change together in the future, okay?"
"Of course." Julien held the back of her head with his large hand, pulled her head toward him gently, lowered his head, and kissed her on the forehead.
Sydney leaned into his arms and smiled, "By the way, what dress did you prepare for me? The owner of the mall likes Ronas dresses."
"I know." Julien nodded. "So I prepared a Ronas dress. I am your man. How will I screw your things up?"
"Come on." Sydney patted his chest. "Did I say you would screw my things up? You're much better than me. It can only be me who screws your things up."
"No." Julien became serious. "I chose you. Before we got together, I had thought about our future. I never feel that you will screw my things up. And you can't think this way, understand?"
He stared at her gravely.
Sydney froze for a few moments as he looked at her, and then she smiled, "Yes. I won't."
"That's more like it." Julien's face softened as he added, "I know you bought a Ronas dress to get in with Mrs. Browning, so naturally, I prepared a Ronas dress for you. And I asked the same designer to quickly make clothes for us. The clothes will be delivered before the party, so don't worry."
In fact, it was easy for Julien to introduce Sydney to Katrina Browning.
He didn't even have to do so. As long as Sydney told Katrina that she was Julien's girlfriend, Katrina would befriend her.
But Julien knew that Sydney would not do that. She didn't want Katrina to think that she was relying on Julien to get an exhibition stand.
He appreciated Sydney's self-reliance, but at the same time, he was a little hurt that she didn't ask him for help.
But the good thing was she accepted the dress.
Perhaps it could be considered that Greta had done him a favor.
As he thought of Greta, Julien's face immediately darkened.
Sydney sensed his sudden anger and pulled his arm. "What's wrong?"
Julien touched her cheek. "I am just thinking about Greta's identity."
Hearing Greta's name, Sydney frowned with a hint of disgust in her eyes. "Haven't you found out her identity yet?"
"Someone in the government used their authority to make a false identity for her. That means her real identity is not simple. There must be a powerful person behind her, so it is not easy to figure out her real identity," Julien explained.
Sydney nodded her head in a daze.
Julien took out his phone. "Are you hungry?"
Sydney touched her stomach. "A little."
"Get up and wash up. Zach brought over breakfast. I've been keeping it warm for you," Julien said as he raised her covers and bent down to place her slippers neatly next to the bed.
Sydney looked at the man taking care of her, feeling a warm current through her heart. "You are so sweet."
Julien laughed softly, "I'm always sweet, right?"
"Yes, yes, yes, you're always sweet," Sydney smiled.
