No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Chapter 137

Cedric stood in the dimly lit study, his figure merging into the darkness. The thought of what Noelle had endured ignited the spark of his anger into an uncontrollable blaze. He couldn't bear the idea of anyone harboring such vile intentions toward the woman he had been so careful to protect.

Peter finally realized the gravity of his mistake and quickly pleaded, "I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have said that. Please! I didn't mean it-I swear!"

Peter had no idea that the two young men he had insulted had such powerful backgrounds. It was clear from their actions that they were no ordinary people. The watch Cedric wore alone was enough to show that-it was an exclusive, discontinued model that mere money couldn't buy.

Peter deeply regretted his actions. If he had known, he would never have stepped out of his apartment that night.

Cedric looked at him with a faint contemptuous smile tugging at his lips. "If apologies were enough, why would we need the police?"

"How about I apologize to her in person?" Peter suggested.

"Don't even think about showing your disgusting face in front of her," Cedric warned coldly. "Your only option now is to turn yourself in at the police station."

With that, Cedric left the study and made his way back downstairs to his apartment, his ruthless presence lingering in the air. After washing the blood off his hands, he silently opened the door to his bedroom, instinctively stepping inside.

However, he stopped after only a few steps, realizing he was still filled with intense rage; he didn't want to bring that energy near her.

Cedric stood at a distance and watched Noelle sleep, the storm of anger slowly subsiding. Then, he pulled his gaze away, quietly leaving the room.

The next morning, Noelle woke up with a yawn, surprised at how well she had slept. After changing out of her pajamas, she stepped out of the bedroom and noticed a blanket on the couch but Cedric was nowhere to be seen. "Good morning," Cedric said as he emerged from the study, his expression unreadable.noveldrama

Noelle cleared her throat awkwardly before responding, "Morning. I guess you didn't sleep well last night?"

Clearly, the couch was too short for him, so she imagined it couldn't have been very comfortable.

"I napped," Cedric, now dressed in a crisp white outfit, replied casually. "That man was arrested last night."

"Really?" Noelle's eyes widened in disbelief. "That was fast. I thought that area was a blind spot for surveillance."

She couldn't help but wonder if Cedric had something to do with it.

Noticing her gaze, Cedric turned his head slightly and said, "That man ran out of luck this time. He left some traces behind."

Noelle sighed in relief. "I see. Good,

She believed she wasn't the only victim in the neighborhood. With Peter caught, the neighborhood would be much safer for everyone.

Suddenly, Noelle's phone rang. She

picked it up and heard, "Ms. Liddell, today's the national finals. Firestorm is livestreaming the competition with a special guest event. Will you be able to join us?"

"You mean at the event venue?" Noelle asked.

"Yes, I've sent you an e-ticket. Please come when you're free."

After ending the call, Noelle turned to Cedric and said, "Firestorm just sent me a ticket for today's match. They're wondering if I want to go

watch."

"So, are you going?" Cedric asked.

"Of course! Why not?" Noelle smiled. After all, she was invited as a special guest.

Cedric was relieved to see her smile, knowing she wasn't affected by the previous night's incident.

During lunch, Noelle couldn't help but notice Cedric constantly replying to messages on his phone.

"Texting that lady again?" she asked, unable to hide her curiosity.

Cedric paused, looking up at her. "Why are you so interested in my love life?"

"Nothing, just asking," Noelle mumbled, lowering her gaze nervously. "So, is she from here? How did you meet her?" Cedric gave her a quiet, calm look, his gaze steady.
