Shirley stared at Fanny, trying to gauge the truth in her words.
"If you really want to see him, I can help you," Fanny said with a chuckle, shaking her head. “Actually, it's not me who can help, it's Felicia."Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
From the moment Shirley laid eyes on Fanny, she knew Felicia had sent her. Thinking of Felicia's predicament, Shirley let out a scornful laugh, "She's in deep trouble now, like a sinking ship with no lifeboat in sight."
"Speaking of sinking ships, Felicia should be thanking Ms. Hudson for her cozy cell," Fanny hinted.
Shirley averted her gaze, "What's that got to do with me?"
Not one to beat around the bush, Fanny went straight to the point. "Ms. Travis, let's cut the act. Your daughter, Nancy, she was taken away on your orders, wasn't she?"
Shirley panicked, then angrily slapped the couch. "What nonsense are you spouting? Why would I kidnap my own daughter, I...”
"You thought you could use your daughter to get Terence back," Fanny interrupted.
Shirley's mouth twitched, and she turned her face away, denying, "I did not."
"There's no need to be scared. I won't tell Lord Clark," Fanny assured her.
"What's the point of all this then?" Shirley demanded.
Fanny sighed, "Let's be clear, Ms. Travis. Felicia sent me. She's in a tight spot and wants out."
"And she thinks coming to me will get her out? Why should I help her?" Shirley scoffed.
Fanny smiled gently, "Ms. Travis, you help Felicia, and she'll make sure you meet Terence."
Now that everything was out in the open, Shirley was silent, scrutinizing Fanny, then burst into laughter.
Her laughter was perplexing, leaving Fanny unsure of the situation.
"Felicia has plenty of people who could help her. Why come to me?" Shirley finally asked after her laughter subsided.
"Because she doesn't want Nancy to

She's offering you a different reunite with your beloved,"
Fanny explained.
Shirley's face showed
embarrassment; using Nancy was never her intention, but desperate times called for desperate measures. With Nancy missing and Lord Clark showing no urgency, she was at her wit's end.
Could Felicia really help her?
"What's holding you back, Ms. Travis?" Fanny noticed her hesitation.
Shirley's gaze drifted off, filled with uncertainty, "If I couldn't do it with all my efforts, how could she?"
She had suspected Terence was at Sapphire Lounge and had spent a fortune trying to reach him, to no avail.
"There are always more ways than
one to skin a cat, Ms. Travis. Just because you couldn't, doesn't mean others can't. Besides..." Fanny paused, "Felicia has her own

connections inside, something you don't, right?"
Shirley's eyes narrowed, "Phipps?"
It seemed Felicia's little secret was well-known.
Fanny gave a non-committal smile, "You're aware of Phipps's stature, I presume."
Shirley fell silent, pondering her next move.
Fanny didn't rush her, even taking the moment to check her phone which had buzzed with a message.
It was from Yates: "Chill, I'll be back in town next week. Can't wait to see you."
Normally, such a message would have thrilled Fanny, but now, it barely made her blink.
"Dr. Willis," Shirley called her back to the present.
Fanny looked up from her phone.
"Alright, I'll get Ms. Hudson out," Shirley finally agreed.
Just as Fanny was about to respond, Shirley added, "But I have one condition."
