Chapter 404

Chapter 404

Katherine awoke to find Teo right beside her, engrossed in paperwork on the chair by the bed. The furrow in his brow as he concentrated, the determined strokes of his signature, conjured strange images in her mind.

She envisioned a woman, whose cheek was propped in her hand, whose eyes twinkled with mirth as she watched a man. The man wore an expression identical to Teo’s current one, and his handwriting fell upon the page in an exact replica.

After what seemed an eternity, the man suddenly lifted his gaze. His eyes met the woman’s with a sudden tenderness that softened his features. He reached out, lightly grazing the woman’s nose with his large hand, and with a smile, beckoned, “Come here.”

Delighted, the woman rose from her seat across from him and lunged into Teo’s embrace. Her slender fingers gently traced the black mole at his throat as she spoke in a tender voice, “Teo, let’s have a baby.”

Teo looked down, kissing her eyelids. His voice was rich and resonant. “How many do you want? Tonight, I’ll fulfill all your wishes.” After saying that, he captured her eager lips in a deep kiss.

As these memories flooded back, Katherine couldn’t help but feel her cheeks burn with embarrassment. Why did she have these memories?

Clearly, the woman’s face in her memory wasn’t her own, so why were these images so vivid? Could it be that she had accidentally witnessed Teo and Leonora in an intimate moment? Was she, as Leonora had claimed, the other woman in their relationship?

At the thought, Katherine couldn’t help but clutch the sheets tightly in her hands. A sudden, intrusive thought pierced her mind.

She fixed her gaze on Teo’s dark eyes, and couldn’t hold back the tears any longer. NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.

Impossible!

She couldn’t be the other woman. And Brodie couldn’t possibly be Teo’s child.

While her emotions were in turmoil, Teo suddenly looked up, catching sight of her tear-filled eyes. He dropped the paperwork in shock and rushed to her side. His voice was laced with concern. “Katherine, does it hurt? I’ll call the doctor.”

As he started to move away, Katherine’s hand shot out, gripping his wrist. Her hoarse voice reached his ear, “Mr. Teo, I’m alright.”

Teo looked at her with a pained expression. “Why were you so so reckless? Didn’t I give you protective gear? Do you know what would happen to Brodie if you couldn’t make it? How he would cope alone?”

Katherine’s eyes, brimming with tears, silently regarded Teo. “I know how cruel Leonora can be. If we don’t bring her to justice this time, you or Brodie might be the next to suffer.”

At her words, Teo’s heart tightened, and his grip on Katherine’s fingers intensified. “What have you and Brodie been through these past years? Can you tell me about it?” he pleaded.

Katherine’s wet lashes quivered slightly. “It’s all in the past. There’s no need to bring it up.”

Seeing her evasive look and her attempt to withdraw her hand, Teo held on firmly. His voice deepened. “Katherine, I’m sorry. I really don’t remember what happened between us, but it’s clear that Leonora is behind whatever you and Brodie have endured. Please, don’t push me away. Let me help you recover your memories. Let’s find our past together, okay?”

“Teo,” Katherine called out in a hoarse whisper, “if I really was the one who destroyed your relationship with Leonora, would you hate me?”

“I wouldn’t,” Teo replied without hesitation. “Even though I don’t know what happened, I’m sure it wasn’t your fault. If anyone is to blame, it’s me. So please, don’t push me away. Let’s recover our memories together. Don’t you think Brodie resembles Ian in some ways?”
