Obsessive CEO’s Sinful Wife

Chapter 24

Chapter 24

Maybe he was overthinking it!

Seeing that Serenity was busy with work, Peter shrugged it off and said, “I’ll stop bothering you, then. See you later.”

After Peter left, Jack held Serenity’s chin with his fingers and turned her face to him. “I don’t like you looking at other men like that.”

Serenity laughed. “You’re thinking too much. I don’t have any feelings for him.”

“Does he have any feelings for you?” he asked.

She did not know what to say.

“He’s that co-worker who has a crush on you, isn’t he?” he asked.

“Yeah. I already asked Xyla to tell him no. I didn’t think he would come look for me.”

“He’s not good enough for you. If you don’t like him, you should have rejected him more directly,” said Jack.

Serenity laughed. “You think too highly of me. I’m the one who’s not good enough for him. He has a house, a car, and a stable job. A lot of women in the Sanitation Office are interested in him.”

“My sister deserves better,” said Jack. His voice contained a possessiveness that even he was unaware

1. of.

After Serenity finished cleaning the road, she packed up the tools and was about to bring them back to the Sanitation Office when Janice suddenly rushed over and said to Serenity, “Serenity, you have to forgive me, I beg you. I can’t lose my job. It’s very important to me! Please, talk to my boss and tell him that you’ve forgiven me so that he won’t dismiss me!”

After pondering about it, Janice came to the conclusion that the person she had offended was most

likely Serenity.

Serenity looked at Janice and said, “I think you’re asking the wrong person here. I have nothing to do with your

dismissal. I can’t even see your boss even if I wanted to.”

“Impossible!” Janice said sharply, “You’re the only person I’ve offended lately. Maybe Zeke Shaw felt bad for you after he saw you in that condition the other day and took revenge for you?” After thinking

long and hard about it, this was the only possibility Janice could think of.

Serenity finally understood why Janice had come to her to beg for forgiveness. Zeke Shaw?… No, he

probably did not even feel an ounce of pity for her! Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. If you think it was Zeke Shaw who made you lose your job, then the person you should talk to is him,” said Serenity coldly. She then grabbed Jack’s hand and walked past Janice.

Janice tried to chase after her, but when Jack turned back and gave her a casual glance, she stopped in

her tracks.

That look scared her. She felt like, if she were to keep pestering Serenity, something really bad would happen to her.

‘What… is going on?’ The man’s fringe covered half his face so she could not see what he looked like, but his eyes struck fear in her heart. Was he Serenity’s sugar baby?

Also, did Serenity have friends in high places? If so, who could it be? Was it Zeke Shaw? Or was it someone else?

At that moment, she could not take another step forward despite her best effort.
