Chapter 26
{THAT SAME NIGHT ~ THE DUNGEON}
The guards standing in front of the dungeons door bowed and greeted Derrick as he approached them.
They unlocked the iron door for him and he stepped inside the dungeon were Roxanne was locked in.
She quickly rose up from the cold ground she was sitting on when Derrick stepped inside the dungeon.
“Greetings….”
Derrick suddenly grabbed her neck and her words got stuck in her throat. Shock was clearly written on Roxanne’s face as Derrick gripped her neck.
“You dare come to my chamber and lie to me?, How condescending.” He said with a devilish smile.
“You really think I wouldn’t find out that you were lying?, Is that how foolish you think I am?, I guess you don’t have a single likeness for your life.” Derrick added, his grip tightening around her neck.
Roxanne began gasping for airand her face was becoming red. Thick veins were already appearing on her neck.
“I… I’m sorry.. a… alpha…” Roxanne managed to speak, and Derrick smirked devilishly.
“You should have thought of the consequences of lying to me before coming to my chamber to lie to me.” He said and his eyes changed to green, then long as sharp claws started sprouting out from his fingers.
Before Roxanne could blink her eyes, Derrick thrusted his claws deep into her chest and he ripped out her heart.
Roxanne gasped loudly and took her last breathe, then Derrick threw her lifeless body across the dungeon.
Roxanne’s lifeless body crashed on the ground with a loud thud.
Derrick walked out of the dungeon with Roxanne’s heart in his left hand, and blood dripping from his claws.
“Burn her body into ashes and dispose this.” Derrick said to one of the guards outside the dungeon, and he handed Roxanne’s heart to the guard.
Fear gripped the guard and his hands became shaky as he collected the heart from Derrick.
Derrick could feel the guard’s fear and that infuriated him so much. Fear was another thing he hated, and seeing the fear in the guard’s eyes, he grabbed the guard in a flash and ripped off his head from his neck.
Shivers ran up the spines of the remaining guards when saw the head of their colleague rolling on the ground.
They were all scared but they dared not show it. They just stared at the alpha in horror.
Derrick turned his gaze to another guard, and cold fear gripped the guard when Derrick’s red eyes met with his. But the guard composed himself and hid his fear so as not to end like the other guard whose head got ripped off by Derrick.
Derrick walked towards the guard with his red eyes and long sharp claws.
The guard kept a straight face as Derrick stood in his front.
Derrick looked for any sign of fear in the guard’s eyes, and when he found none, his eyes changed back to normal and his claws retracted back into his fingers.
“Burn the body of that weakling and also the body of the bitch inside the dungeon.” Derrick ordered, and the guard nodded sharply with a borrowed courage.
Derrick turned around and he walked out of the place.
All the guards guarding the dungeon heaved a breathe of relief when Derrick left.
“Am I the only one who almost pass out when the alpha ripped off Jordan’s head?” One of the guards asked, and they all stared at their colleague’s decapitated body on the ground.
“Jeez! Jordan was a good guy, but it seems like luck wasn’t’t on his side this night.” Another said, and they all shook their head in pity as one of the guards carried the decapitated body out of the place.

{THE NEXT MORNING ~ ORTEGA AND PRISCILLA’S ROOM}
Ortega slowly opened her eyes as the sun reflected on her face through the open blinds in the room.
She groaned as her eyes tried to adjust to the brightness. Her eyes finally adjusted to the it and she glanced around her to realize that she was now in her and Priscilla’s room in the maids quarter.
The door opened and she saw Priscilla walking inside the room with a tray of food in her hands.
Ortega managed to sit upright in the bed and she winced when she felt pains in between her legs. Both her legs were also paining her.
“Are you okay?” Priscilla asked worriedly as she dropped the plate of food on the bedstand. 2
“Yeah. Yeah I’m fine.” Ortega nodded as the pain slowly subsided.
“Here is your breakfast.” Priscilla handed the plate of food to Ortega
Priscilla watched as Ortega ate the food. They didn’t say a word to each other until Ortega finished eating.
“Why did you come to the alpha’s chamber last night?” Priscilla asked as she collected the empty plate from Ortega, placing it on the tray on the bedstand.
“Well…” Ortega hesitated. “I came to thank him for rescuing me from five heartless men last night.”
“He rescued you last night?”
“Yeah.” Ortega nodded.
“Okay, I have three questions for you,” Priscilla stated.
“Okay?”
“First of all, how did you end up at the mercy of five heartless men and where did you go last night?” Priscilla inquired.
“I followed one of the maids out of the palace.” Ortega replied.
“What!?” Priscilla’s eyes popped open. “You don’t mean it.”
“I do.”
“Which maid? Why?” Priscilla asked.
“Is that the second and third question?” Ortega asked back.
“What? No. But do you know the name of the maid you followed out of the palace and why did you follow her?” Priscilla questioned.RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
Ortega climbed out of the bed and began walking towards the open door so that she’d close it.
“I don’t know the name of the maid.” Ortega replied as she finally got to the door.
“You don’t know the maid’s name and you followed her?!” Priscilla asked in disbelief, and Ortega turned around before saying,
“I followed her because she said the head maid sent the both of us on an errand.”
“The name of that maid is Roxanne and she isn’t a good person.” Priscilla said, and Ortega raised a questioning brow at her.
“And what makes you say that?” She inquired.
“Trust me, Ortega. I have been working in this palace for a long time and I know almost every maid and what they are capable of doing,” replied Priscilla. “I know their characters, and trust me when I say that Roxanne isn’t someone you can trust or be friends with. She is a bitch.” Priscilla added.
“Well, she seems cool to me.” Ortega said, and Priscilla shook her head with a sigh.
“Roxanne isn’t cool, but anyway, how did you end up meeting the men after you and Roxanne left the palace?” Priscilla threw the last question.
Ortega was mute for a few seconds before replying.
“While Roxanne and I were heading to where she said the head maid sent us, I lost my way. I tried calling for help but there was no one in the alley I was in. The alley was dark, ans I felt hopeless and helpless until I saw five men chatting and laughing loudly. I thought they were good people but they were the exact opposite of what I thought. I thought they would help me out in my mess but I was so wrong.” She released a shaky breath, her hands trembling as the images of last night filled her head.
She couldn’t shake off the images out of her head. She could hear their loud and taunting laughter… Their sarcastic replies… She could see the devilish smiles on their faces… She could feel their hands roaming over her body, making goosebumps rise in her arms as the feeling overshadowed her, making her feel so much disgusted with her body.
She could even feel the finger of the bastard that dared to insert his damn finger in her honeypot. The excitement that clouded their faces made her feel so nauseous and want to puke.
Their voices were like a piece of music she desperately wish she could put an end to. Her fear, plight, misery, and predicament were gradually taking the better part of her sense of reasoning.
Ortega started convulsing, gripping the door knob tightly as she squeezed her eyes shut.
Memories of what happened last night morning filled her senses and she started hearing every one of their voices in her head – alpha Derrick’s voice and the voices of the five men who tried to rape her.
“Ortega are you alright?” Priscilla asked from behind her.
Priscilla’s voice went to the back of Ortega’s head, and as much as she tried to get a grip of herself, she couldn’t.
Priscilla advanced toward her, looking worried and scared.
“Ortega, are you okay?” Priscilla asked as she advanced towards Ortega.
Ortega could see Priscilla’s lips moving but she heard nothing.
Darkness was slowly consuming her. She released the door locker she was gripping onto and staggered back.
She shook her head, trying to fight back against the unconsciousness but it was impossible. She was really feeling dizzy and her head was spinning around.
Ortega eventually stopped fighting the unconsciousness and just as she was slowly falling to the ground, someone caught her from behind.
It wasn’t her best friend because Priscilla were standing in front of her, stunned and dumbstruck.
Ortega’s nose caught the familiar scent of the person, and as she was going to look at the face of the person who just saved her from falling to the ground, darkness eventually consumed her.
