Painful seduction

It’s been more than 30 minutes since they got to the hospital. Mr. Anderson had been taken to the ICU and was currently attended to by the doctor. Nelly looked impatient as she walked in circles agitated. Cindy was trying to fill the patient profile file with her best knowledge but she needed Nelly’s help and that was when she noticed Nelly was absent minded.

” What’s going on? You look stressed and agitated.” Cindy asked.

” I’m trying to call Cathy, she’s not taking my calls.” Nelly answered, nearly breathless.

“Take it easy on yourself, have you tried to phone her friends? ”

” You’re talking like you don’t know Cathy maintains no relationship with anyone.” Nelly answered.

” I had no idea about that. Let’s do this, I will talk to the doctor and then we can look for her. Meanwhile, call Axl and tell him where his father is.” She suggested.

” Axl won’t take my calls.”

” You can use the hospital’s telephone that way he doesn’t know it’s you and he knows you’re serious.” Cindy said smartly.

” Why don’t you do it yourself? I’m not in the mood to speak to the son of a bitch.”

“I don’t even know this man, why would he take me seriously.”

Grudgingly, Nelly walked away to the hospital’s reception, while she made the call Cindy went to speak to a doctor.

” Hello, Doctor. ”

” How can I help you, young miss?” The doctor was dressed in a white long sleeve shirt and neatly ironed black pants. He wore no lab coat but had a stethoscope around his neck.

” The patient at the ICUwe brought him and I was hoping you can tell me the recent update about him.” She explained.

” If you must know, he’s still receiving treatment. We will give you the necessary update once we are done attending to him.”

He said and left immediately.

Cindy went back to meet Nelly who was still on the phone, she had to wait for some minutes for her to finish.

” Can we leave now?” Cindy asked, immediately she was done with the call.

” Yes…I’ve spoken to the doctor. He’s still receiving treatment and -”

She was cut off immediately by Nelly,

” I don’t care what happens to him. All I care about right now is seeing Cathy.”

” Don’t be so hateful, we will find her. Nothing will happen to her.”

” I hope you’re right. Axl is already on his way so we can go.”

The left the hospital premises with the same car they came with,

” Now where do we start looking?” Cindy asked.

As if to answer her question, a call came and she glanced at her screen.

” It’s Cathy’s secretary.” She muttered and answered the call.

” What? What is she doing there?”

” She? No one is here except the inspectors who have notified me since the car was parked on the bridge and was causing traffic.”

” Don’t move a step I’m coming there right now ”

” Drive Cindy, Los Angeles bridge. ” Nelly ordered Cindy.

Cindy asked no questions as she reversed swiftly to the direction Nelly mentioned.

Within 20 minutes they got there and found Cathy’s secretary talking to an inspector. Together with the inspector there were 3 cops.

” Inspector, where’s Cathy?”

“Who’s Cathy?” The inspector asked, he was a middle aged man about 40 or less. He was tall and muscular with almond chested eyes and ginger coloured hair.

” Cathy is my Boss. The owner of the car.” The secretary offered an answer.

“We didn’t find her. The car doors were wide open when we came.” He answered.

” Wide open? That’s strange.” Nelly muttered.

” Can I take a look at the car?” Cindy asked,

She hadn’t noticed the Young secretary kept a long gaze at her, she was surprised and shocked.

” Sure, but be careful.” He warned.

She looked Inside, and the car keys were still intact. Her bag was also there, as she was still searching for a clue with her eyes. She stepped on something, and looked at it , it was a phone. Nelly rushed to her,

” This is Cathy’s phone. Her bag is also here. Everything is here.”

” I guess she was kidnapped. I think her car developed some issues and she came out to take a look, she was kidnapped.” The inspector declared finally.

” Kidnapped? How is that possible?” Cindy asked.

” As for her car, it’s not possible. Cathy always ensures she leaves the house with a serviced car.”

” What other way can we explain that her properties are here and she’s not?” The inspector asked smartly.

“I don’t know.” Nelly but her fingers, she was terrified.

“We have to conduct an investigation on this case but for now, check her call history and let’s start from there.”

Nelly picked up the phone again and glanced through the caller ID.

” There’s a call from her Mechanic and from Alexia Bachman.”

” Alexia Bachman?” Cindy asked, she was visibly scared.

” Who’s Alexia Bachman?” The inspector asked.

” A friend she was supposed to meet today-” she stopped and turned to Cindy.

” How much do you trust Alexia Bachman?”

” Very well…dial the number and we can ask her what happened.”

“Is there – a need to call-?”Cindy asked scared.

” Is anything wrong?” The inspector asked.

“I’m fine, Inspector.”

Nelly dialed the number and Cindy’s phone rang so loudly. Nelly looked at her with a shocked expression. The phone fell from her hands.

” Cindy Chester, you are Alexia Bachman.” She rushed to drag her hair and tried to slap her but Cindy was stronger.

” Control yourself, Nelly. You have no right to hit me.”

” What’s going on here?” The inspector asked.

” Yes…I am Alexia Bachman. Is that what you want to hear?” She asked in an angry tone.

” You have some explanations to do, Cindy Chester.” Nelly explained.

” I know and I will do that first to Cathy. We better start looking for her before something happens to her.”
