Chapter 100
“You mentioned last night that an old man was going to organize an event in Herland. Will you be going?” Charles asked in a seemingly casual manner.
Naomi did not think much about it and replied, “I’ll probably go.”
Charles said, “You have to be careful with your hands. Your hands are still healing.”
Naomi knew that Charles only asked her because he was worried about her hands. She smiled. “I will.
Don’t worry.”
“Okay.”
After a short conversation, Naomi hung up..
Charles put down his phone after hearing the disconnecting tone, engrossed in his thoughts.
Naomi roughly told him about the situation the night before, but from what she said, he could roughly guess that the event would have something to do with the other man.
He might be there.
Whether it was a coincidence, he did not know. However, his instincts told him that he had to be careful. If Naomi was going to Herland, he would go as well. He was not going to let her go.
He had already missed out on three years with her. He did not want to miss out on her anymore.
At that moment, Charles held his phone tightly. He looked ahead with a determined gaze.
After the call, Naomi bade Donna farewell before leaving home and headed to the
museum.
The work time during winter at the museum was at 9 a.m., but from April onward, it was half past eight instead.
Naomi was used to waking up early and arriving at work early, which was why she arrived at the museum at ten past eight.
They were going to welcome Chandler that day. Almost everyone was there at that moment, standing by the entrance and waiting for Chandler’s arrival.
Naomi stood behind, but Quentin got her to be in front. Everyone wanted her to be in front. After the meal the night before, everyone knew that Naomi and Scott were still on good terms and that she was the youngest among the wood carvers. Just as Scott had said: No matter how they looked at it, she was
the most suitable one.
Letting her stand in front was the most suitable choice.
Naomi knew what everyone was thinking about, so it was hard for her to refuse. She quietly went up and stood next to Quentin.
At 8:30 a.m., a few cars stopped right outside the museum. Quentin immediately went forward, and Naomi followed along.
The car door opened, and Chandler got out of the car with his secretary. They were accompanied by his assistant and a few professionals dealing with the event.
Everyone got out of the car, but Scott was nowhere to be seen.
No one was surprised. After all, with Scott’s identity, no one expected him to do everything himself. Furthermore, Naomi was his wife, and she would represent him.
Of course, everyone but Naomi thought of that. Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
To Naomi, it did not matter whether Scott came. She would do her job well, and his appearance would not affect her one bit.
“Master Chandler, you’re finally here. Let’s go. Let me take you in.”
“Hehe! Thank you.”
“It’s not a problem at all. Please, come along.”
“Okay.”
Everyone smiled and entered the museum. Naomi and Scott escorted Chandler as they introduced the museum to him.
Noon came quickly enough.
Quentin took Chandler to Grace Manor for lunch with everybody. Even by then, Scott did not come.
After lunch, everyone started discussing the planning of the event in detail and things they should look out for.
Everything seemed to have been set that day.
Chandler was there for a few days in Horizon City. He wanted to deeply understand the black wood
culture there.
Naomi, having been born and raised in Horizon City, was given the task.
Thus, the next day, Naomi accompanied Chandler to where the black wood was farmed, various places where black wood handicrafts were sold, as well as historical monuments. They understood the history and culture in detail.
In a blink of an eye, five days passed.
