Chapter 124
Chapter 124
Soon, the food arrived. The table was filled with different dishes, but none of them were what Naomi said she would not eat.
Dylan had initially ordered some rare steak. However, since Naomi would not eat anything raw, he changed the steak to medium well-done.
Jonas even deliberately got the kitchen to make some Horizon City cuisine.
They ate and chatted once the food was served.
Naomi was the only lady there and had nothing much to say, so she ate in silence.
Scott was drinking and chatting with the others.
He would look at Naomi from time to time and put food on her plate.
Dylan observed their interaction and expressions so intently his eyes almost popped out.
Naomi was afraid she might say something wrong once more, so she kept a close ear to their conversation. They were talking either about business or things of the past. It had nothing to do with her.
She was a little relieved, but she was still on guard, keeping her ears peeled.
Suddenly, Dylan said, "Naomi, your trip to Herland would be loads of fun this time. My grandpa has specifically told me to take you guys around. I've planned it all. We'll go hiking tomorrow and then to the beach the day after. We'll go fishing the following day. I'll make sure to fill it with fun stuff to do!"
Naomi said nothing and merely looked at Scott.
She was in Herland for work, not for fun. However, she was afraid she might misspeak like a moment ago, so she said nothing. She waited for Scott to speak up.
Seeing Naomi looking at Scott, Dylan immediately asked, "Naomi, why are you looking at him? Look at me!"
Scott swirled the wine in his hand, looked up, and said, "Look at you? Are you sure?"
Dylan was stunned. Why did he sound so intimidating?
Andy looked at Scott and said with a smile, "Alright, Scott and Naomi have their own arrangements."
Then, he changed the topic. Naomi was relieved, but at the same time, she realized a problem. Andy was an extremely considerate guy. He could acutely sense what everyone was feeling. Then, he would be the peacemaker, trying to patch through the awkward silence.
They started chatting once more, but Naomi was no longer a part of it.
Naomi was almost done eating. She placed her cutlery down, picked up a napkin, and wiped her mouth.
Right at that moment, her phone rang. The phone first vibrated before ringing.
She picked her phone up and had a look at the caller ID. She said to everyone, "Excuse me, I need to take this call."
Andy nodded. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Dylan's eyes instantly brightened and looked at Scott immediately.
Scott lowered his gaze. He picked up his wine glass and took a sip with no emotions in his eyes.
Naomi left the room with her phone.
The moment the door was shut, Dylan asked eagerly, "What is going on with you and Naomi? Are you two in a fight?"
He had been holding his question in ever since he entered the room. He could not hold back any longer.
Andy said nothing. He merely drank some wine. Jonas continued eating. They said nothing, clearly waiting for Scott to answer.
That was because everyone could see that something was wrong between Scott and Naomi, a big one at that.
Scott heard the footsteps fade away after the door closed. He put his wine glass down and said softly, "We've gotten a divorce."
"What!" Dylan never expected his answer and was shocked.
Andy furrowed his brows. He placed his glass down and looked at Scott. It caught him off guard as well.
