Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 126

Chapter 126

Naomi ensured she was far from the room before answering the call.

"Hey, Charles."

That's right, Charles had called her.

Charles' heart melted when he heard her gentle voice. "I was right to have guessed you must have reached. I just finished work, so I thought of calling you. You're not busy right now, are you?"

Naomi could hear students in the background. Charles must have just left the classroom. She smiled and replied, "No. I was having dinner."

Charles looked at the time. It was around nine then. That sounded about right. She must have left the airport for the hotel before heading to dinner.

"Go eat, then. Rest well tonight. We'll talk tomorrow. Make sure to take care of yourself. Watch out for your hand. You have to apply the medication regularly too. Don't forget! Let me know if you've finished the bottle. I'll bring more for you."

"Also, if you feel uncomfortable, you have to go to the doctor right away or call me. Don't just keep it to yourself, do you understand? If there's anything you can't handle, you can call me too. Don't force yourself."

He rambled on and on, afraid he would miss something out.

Naomi quietly listened to his concerns and worries, feeling happy.

Charles was a meticulous and caring person, whether it was three years before or three years later. He will always be Charles.

"Okay," Naomi replied. Charles was relieved. "Go have a good meal. Don't catch a cold at night. The night wind in Herland is quite brutal. The temperature is more extreme than Horizon City. Layer up!."

"I'll remember." She would do what she promised. Charles smiled widely. "Alright, I'll stop nagging. Talk to you tomorrow."

Then, he waited for Naomi to hang up. However, Naomi did not hang up. She heard his relief and happiness. She said, "Charles, you have to take care of yourself as well. If you can, don't stay up too late. It's not good for your health."

She did not ramble on too much. She was serious without much emotion added to it, but Charles' heart could not help but beat faster.

How she showed concern for others differed from that of any ordinary person. She would never say that to just anyone, only to people whom she really cared for.

Yet, she said that to him. That meant she had thought of him as someone important, right?

"Alright. I will."

After the call, Naomi stared at her darkened screen.

At that moment, she had an answer to whether she would stay in Herland for a year or two.

She held her phone and walked into the room.

The room was eerily silent. Naomi noticed it right away the moment she entered the room.

As she entered, all eyes were on her except for Scott. He was holding his wine glass with a lowered gaze. His gaze was so dark that no one dared look at him longer than one glance.

Naomi noticed they were looking at her weirdly as if something had happened.

She was a little stunned and looked at Scott. He looked as usual, like nothing had happened. However, he seemed to be in deep thought. He did not look at her. Perhaps he did not even notice that she had entered the room.

She was about to ask something, but she also felt she should not pry. Thus, she closed her mouth before walking over to Scott and took her seat.

When they all saw her sitting down, they turned to look at Scott. Right after, they returned to normal.

Dylan raised his wine glass and smiled. "Come, come! Let's drink!"

Jonas clinked glasses with him. Dylan smiled widely. He looked at Andy, and they also clinked glasses. Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

Only Scott did nothing.

Dylan raised his glass to Scott and said impatiently, "What are you thinking about? Just have fun! We'll help you out if you have any problems!"

Scott looked up just to see Dylan winking at him as if saying let him handle it.

Naomi noticed their strange interaction. She looked at Dylan before looking at Scott. Scott said nothing, not even to Dylan. His expression remained the same as before.
