Chapter 170
Chapter 170
Naomi thought as she placed her phone into her bag.
She heard Scott say to the taxi driver, "St. Deschamps."
That was clearly not the name of the hotel. Naomi looked at him.
Scott looked out of the window with an aloof gaze. Naomi looked at him for a while before turning her head back. She could not understand what he was thinking, so she decided to just ignore it.
The driver drove them to St. Deschamps in less than twenty minutes. Scott took the wheelchair from the trunk and placed Naomi in the wheelchair. He paid the driver and pushed her into the restaurant.
It was dinner time. St. Deschamps was filled to the brim with customers. They entered, and a waiter quickly went up to them. "Do you have a reservation?"
Scott said, "3508."
"Alright, please come with me." The waiter led them upstairs to a private room.
The waiter handed the menu to Scott. This time, Scott did not hand it to Naomi and ordered the food.
Soon after, the waiter left with the menu.
While Scott was ordering, Naomi had poured him some water and sipped her water quietly.
Scott looked at the glass of water in front of him before looking up at her. She had said nothing, merely looking more aloof.
He wrapped his fingers around the glass but did not take a drink.
He kept looking at her.
Soon, the dishes were served.
They ate in silence. The surroundings had quieted down as well, seemingly affected by their silence.
Suddenly, a phone's vibration cut through the long silence. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
Naomi blinked. She continued eating with her head lowered.
Scott put down his utensils and wiped his mouth with a napkin before picking up the phone. He looked at the caller ID and saw it was Dylan.
When he saw who it was, he placed his phone by the side and continued eating.
The phone kept ringing.
Naomi heard it. She looked at him before looking at the phone next to him. The phone soon quieted down, but only for a few seconds before it started ringing once more.
Scott continued eating as if he had not heard it.
Clearly, he was not going to answer it.
Naomi retracted her gaze and continued eating.
Just like that, the phone kept ringing. Soon, it stopped as if the person on the other end of the line knew that Scott was not going to pick up and gave up.
The room was finally quiet once more.
Naomi put her utensils down to get more food when her phone rang.
