Rebirth 45
Yasmine tilted her head, trying to avoid what was unfolding.
"Stay still." Yonas said, his voice low and steady.
Yasmine froze for a moment and replied awkwardly, "Mr. Russell, I can handle this myself..."
Just a second." Yonas wasn't going to let her go. He lowered his eyes, focusing on tying her hair up.
His fingers worked through her thick, smooth hair, which smelled faintly along with the ocean breeze. From where he stood, he could see her graceful neck-tender and undeniably captivating. His eyes deepened, and he swallowed hard as he finished and looked away quickly. "There, all done." "Thanks," Yasmine replied, feeling a bit awkward.
Noticing her tenseness, Yonas teased, "What's up? You got a crush on me?"
Yasmine paused. Sure, she'd felt a little flutter in her heart earlier, but Yonas was way out of her league. She was a divorcee, and the Russell family was powerful-they wouldn't let a nobody like her marry Yonas. It was better to squash any feelings at the very beginning. "Mr. Russell," she finally said, turning to face him. "I think we should keep things professional. Our bond exists only because of Yoselin. If you genuinely want to be friends, I'd be honored."
She didn't put it very clearly, but she trusted that Yonas understood. Then, she got up and walked over to Chuck's barbecue station to lend him a hand.
Yonas watched her walk away, raising an eyebrow as he realized he might have rushed things. Still, he figured there would be plenty of chances to interact later.
The four enjoyed a great barbecue by the beach, and once they finished, Chuck drove Lucy and Yasmine home.
As Yasmine got out of the car, Chuck turned back, nudging Yonas with a smirk. "Looks like you really like Ms. Yasmine, huh?"
"What makes you say that?" Yonas closed his eyes to rest, not bothering to glance at
Chapter 45 Chuck.
Chuck grinned. "Last time we had a barbecue at the beach, you were so picky about. cleanliness that you made us change plans and cat at a restaurant."
Yonas went silent.
Perhaps because they had stayed out too late, Yasmine slept well and forgot all about the annoyance from earlier. She woke up later than usual but still made it to school. right on time.
Something seems off. Yasmine frowned as she noticed the students around her whispering and sneaking glances her way. Remembering past experiences, she pulled out her phone and logged into the school forum.
A big, bold headline caught her attention- "Ms. Beauty Caught Cheating, Left by Ex- Husband After Discovery!"
Yasmine couldn't help but laugh. The Flynn family was still meddling in her life-did they really think she was that easy to push around? Clicking into the post, she almost rolled her eyes at the so-called evidence.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
The image was all too familiar: it was a snapshot from the day Yonas picked up Yoselin and invited her to dinner. The siblings were blurry, even Yonas' car was too, but Yasmine's face was crystal clear, giving off the impression that she was on a date with another man. 'Is this really all they have as proof?' Yasmine thought with a sneer. 2/2
