Chapter 31 Filial Miss Angel

Chapter 31 Filial Miss Angel

Maisy's heart was uneasy, she worried that Kyle would tell Clayton.

Now the mainstay in the Duncan family was Kyle.

No matter Frank or his three younger brothers could not assume the responsibility of the Duncan

family.

So Clayton set his sights on his grandchildren.

That was why she had tried so hard to get Leo to marry Miss Phoebe. She had tried so hard to

appease Leo these days.

But Daisy made troubles to her.

Leo's marriage was up to Kyle, so, before Leo successed, she must not offend Kyle.

Kyle was far away, so she had no chance to offen her.

But he sent Angel back.

She did not understand why Kyle can be excellent? And her chilre could not be a match to him.

What made her unbearable was that her children dared not raise their heads in front of Kyle.

Actually, few people in the family dared to raise their head in front of Kyle.

Thinking of it this, she felt better.

She taught Daisy a lesson and did not want to listen to her explaination but hurriedly went downstairs

to wait for Clayton. If you Kyle or Angel complained to him, she can timely explain.

But things didn't go her way at all.

Everything was calm.

Clayton's face did not show any waves.

Frank and his brothers talked as usual.

Maisy felt relieved.

She was in no mood to pay attention to Angel.

But as everyone gathered around the table, Angel emerged from the kitchen with a casserole.

She placed the casserole in front of Clayton.

Clayton smiled. “Angel? When did you get back? I didn't even see you when I came in. Let the servants

do this thing. Mind your hand, it is hot.”

The maid said, “Miss Angel came back in the afternoon and had been busy in the kitchen, saying she

wanted to cook food for you.”

Clayton looked at Angel with relief. “Oh? Angel can cook?”

Edward Duncan smiled, “Mary, you must have done this for Angel. Well, Angel has the filial piety, right?

Dad?”

Clayton nodded with a smile as he took Angel's hand. “Angel, you are good to me.”

Mary said, “No, Miss Angel cooked it. She knows your have high blood pressure, so she specially

cooked this soup.”

The more she explained, the more convinced they were that she was acting for Angel.

Angel took the lid off the casserole and handed it to Mary. Then she filled a small bowl of soup and

placed it in front of Clayton.

“Do you want to taste it first, Grandpa?” She cocked her head and had a cute smile on her face.

Clayton took a mouthful of soup and drank it.

He took a second sip.

“This is not made by Mary.” He could not help looking at Angel. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

Angel leaned down and said in a low voice for all to hear, “Then let’t not give Uncle Edward!”

The tone was so cute that Clayton burst out laughing.

Pointing to Edward, he said, “Angel said she won’t give you food.”

From the interaction between his father and Angel, Edward understood what happened.

So he laughed and said, “Well, Angel, youo are mad at me for belittling you?”

Angel pressed her lips and looked at Clayton.

“Give your uncle a bowl,” said Clayton.

Angel filled a bow of soup, “Okay, I'll listen to Grandpa.”

Then she handed the soup to Edward, “Uncle Edward, drink soup.”

Even a fool would have understood the atmosphere.

Angel's face was so innocent that it was hard to get over the idea that she was an idiot.

But what she did was not stupid at all.

There were so many grandchildren in the Duncan family, but none of them did such a thoughtful thing

to Clayton?

It could tell from Clayton's face that he was pleased by Angel's little trick.

These people might not be business wizards, or even talents, but they were good at reading other’t

mind.

They thought their wiive and childrend should be closer to Angel. In Duncan family, if they wanted to

win recognition of Kyle, they could only rely on Angel.

And with Kyle's support, they could have a good life in the Duncan family.

Mary hurriedly poured soup into a bowl for everyone.

Daisy sniffed the soup bowl in disgust, “It smells so bad. How dare you give it to grandpa? Hum!”

She had said it in a low voice, but her words reached everyone's ears as clearly as they could.

All eyes were on her.

Before Maisy could speak, Angel said with a smile, “Daisy, if you don’t like it, you can eat something

else.”

She said to Clayton, “I will try to cook a meal for Grandpa every week to make up for the filial

obligations I and my brother own you”

Clayton nodded. “Good gir!”

Daisy could not bear it any more, and laid down her chopsticks. “Enough, Angel! Do you realize you

look disgusting? Just you and your brother are filial? Is it possible that Grandpa won't be able to eat

until you come back? Do you take us as dead?”

Maisy pulled Daisy, “Daisy! What are you talking about?”

Daisy pushed Maisy away, staring at Angel with fire in her eyes.

Angel's face fluttered with fear. “I, I just, I just thought, I haven't been back for years, I just wanted to

make Grandpa happy, I, I didn't mean anything.”

“I think you deliberately show off yourself, deliberately let us make a fool of ourselves, you are evil!”

Daisy was adamant.

Angel was silent. She hung her head and did not know how to express it.

“Now you are pretending to be pitiful?” Daisy asked.

“That's enough!” Clayton banged the table and roared.

All gave a shiver.

Clayton glared at Maisy, “Take your daughter away! Never show up again! '

Maisy was scared and quickly pulled Daisy, covered her mouth, “Dad, I'm sorry, Daisy is temporarily

out of control. I will teach her well!”

She tried to pull Daisy away, but Daisy was so angry that she refused go away and began to cry.

Clayton looked at Frank and said, “How do you discipline your daughter? She doen’t like a lady at all.

Aren't you afraid of embarrassing our family?”

Frank looked embarrassed, but did not dare to retort.

The crowd looked at him and Leo.

Loe looked like “it's none of my business.”

Luke said, “Yes, brother and sister-in-law, Daisy's temper should be changed. If she wants to bully

Angel, she can't hold other brothers and sisters back. We are thinking to let our kids to learn from

Angel!”

Edward said, “Angel, don't take it to heart. You're doing the right thing. Let the other sisters help you

too! It makes the family happy. It is good!”

Frank was embarrased.

Angel put her hand on Clayton's arm and said, “Grandpa, Grandpa, don't be angry. Daisy is too young

and was not sensible. Daddy's so busy, so he can’t pay too much attention to her.”

She stroked Clayton's back. “Don't be angry, Grandpa, it's all my fault. I will talke with brothers and

sisters to be good to you.”

Clayton's face softened.

Not expecting that Angel would come to his rescue, Frank glanced at her.

She looked sincere and anxious.

Clayton's face softened and he patted her hand. “Angel,” he said, “I am happy you are good to me.

Come back often to visit me and cook some food for me.”

Several young masters and young ladies under the inspiration of their parents quickly came over to

coax Clayton.

Only Leo and Dais were left out.

Since then, every family knew that Angel was the real eldest Miss Duncan.

Behind her there her grandfather, brother and aunt!

If they wanted to get on well in the Duncan family, they had to be nice to Angel.

Such talk did not only circulate in Duncan family but soon spread outside.

Daisy was the object of discussion, which made her embarrassed.

Angel smiled. It was just the begining.

Whatever they did to Angel, she would get it back.

She told Kyle she did not remember, because she did not want him to vent her anger on her behalf.

Belle's principle had always been helping herself.

So was Angel.

Angel's life began to fall into place.

During the day from Monday to Friday, she worked as an assistant to Professor Jordan, sorting out

materials, making PPT and criticizing students' homework. She had a busy and fulfilling life.

Sometimes she went to class with the professor.

The student showed much interest in this beautiful assistant teacher so that the normally sleepy office

of Professor Jordan was now bustling.

Professor Jordan was surrounded by fruits and snacks all day long. In all his years of teaching, he had

never been so loved by his students.

The old man was happy every day, and felt more sure that he had done the right thing to ask Angel to

come back.

Angel looked at him and felt speechless.

Fortunately, the old man accepted all food but refused the requirrment to have a date with his assistant.

This allowed Angel to focus on her studies and work.
