Chapter 35

Her wolf had fully taken over, its animal instincts feral, and started a killing spree, b**dy with no mercy. The speed and skill of her wolf’s fluid and rapid attacks were unstoppable,

None of the men could match up to her strength and power, and they were poorly equipped since they thought she was wolfless, and that was the greatest mistake they’d made in underestimating her. Any one who had tried to attack felll victim to her woll’s merciless s**r, She clawed her way out of their midst, and the moment they were all down, her wolf sprinted into the darkness.

Now this was the problem. Elise had no idea how to change back She pleaded with the wolf, but to no avail. “Let me change back!” But her wolf snarled back.

“No, not They’ve hurt us for far too long; we have only been betrayed, pushed aside, and always hurt. I will protect us now,” her wolf tells her. Her heart hurts, but she can’t deny that wasn’t the truth.

And for the first time in a long while. Elise didn’t fight back; instead, she fell deeper into the dark hold of protection her wolf had made for her.

Now her wolf had all control of her body, while Elise chose for her human consciousness to lay dormant in her. Her wolf makes its way out of the woods and into a small camp. Her fur body matted with dirt and blood, which made her fur darker to blend in

Bright lights across the town had her startled. She’d seen these kinds of lights back at the blood moon pack, with Taz having a wild explanation as to how these light bulbs were made, something she still couldn’t wrap her head around.

From making deadly weapons to lights, and what else? Humans are strange beings, she thought.

But she made it here; she was starving and, as well, still intrigued. It didn’t dawn on her that she was still in wolf form.

She walked quietly into the little, active town. The amazing, warm smell of food coming from the back door of a shop immediately leaped into it, making her hungry and salivating for the savory meal.

But the minute she began to scavenge between shelves and cupboards, her snout sniffed out where the heavenly smell was coming from and led her to the counter. She looked to the top counter, where a warm, fresh meat pie was served. She leaped up to the table, ready to eat, when she heard the clasp of a gun.

She looks toward the door to see a human male and a female who was his wife behind him, both their eyes shining in terror and fear from Elise’s sheer size. “Stay back! I’m going to shoot you for coming here!” the man raised.

One thing that she had learned from those metal canisters filled with bullets was that it was deadly and a fast way to kill a wolf like her, and her wolf immediately deemed him a threat.

Before the man could even think of pulling the trigger, there was a loud, resounding shot right at the moment she had leaped and attacked him, kicking the gun from the man’s hold as her claws injured his arm. “Wolf! Wolf!” the man shouts in anguish while the woman screams.

“No! Honey! Please, please, just leave us alone. Please spare him the woman begged. The lights from the small townhouses began to turn on. Elise Wolf was ready to attack, but she met the gaze of the female, pleading and desperate. A small back of a petite female who was shielding her wounded partner, even though she was powerless, something broke in her.

Her wolf immediately calmed its snarl, pushing her sharp canines back, and even her animal knew this was wrong, and they were innocents, not them she begged.

She backed away from the terrified couple, moving back into the woods. That was when she noticed a grazed wound on her paw. The bullet had met her, but momentarily, it was not deep enough to permanently wound her.

With both a bloodied leg and blood-stained fur, her wolf limped back into the woods, licking up her wounds, and was surprised to see them realing as she found wild berries and fruits to feed on. Having no sense of direction or a way back to the pack, she was lost.

But just as she was weakened from the fight and awake with no rest, she searched for higher ground to rest on in case the humans wanted to search for her or attack her for revenge.

Elise was so afraid of being lonely in the woods alone; her wolf was brave enough for both of them, sustaining her with what they needed, but now she was thirsty.

She could hear the sound of water from a small creek nearby. She scouted the open area fast before bringing down her head to drink, but the snout was in the way, an oddity she had to get used to fast as she bent down again to drink water from the creek. Lapping it through her wolf’s tongue.

She was already so weakened that her wall of security had tethered down for enemies to gain closer to her; she was in danger before she knew it. One moment she was lapping up water, and the next she felt the sting of a small needle on her nape,

She howled out in pain, shaking the vial off as it was too late already; the strength in her legs weakened as her heels gave up on her and she fell; she felt her tongue go weak immediately; and she became paralyzed from the drug. She sees two masked men.

Why her? Why were so many people after her? What do these people want from her? She wondered as the men got closer. This time it wasn’t an amateurish aura like the human males that marched towards her, but an eerie and horrific one that made her terrified to her bones. They were wolves but different, and their hooded gaze on her proved all she wanted to know.

F**king hell, she is mighty,” one of the males said, shocked by the size of her wolf.

“She is a hard one to catch brother; good that those human weaklings did all the work for us and slowed her down,” the second male snickered.

“You are a very special prize to find for our king,” one says as he bends to pet her fur. “Alpha Kyren will be so glad to have you back with him,” one called.

And a shudder of fear ran through her spine, from the memories of the rejection and to the torture in the dungeons as to how horrible he treated her. Kyren was the mastermind all along?!

“We saw some of the blood moon wolves along the way coming to save you,” they snickered. “We were smart to have picked someone of your fur and clothes and dispersed it to the west side to distract them, so no one will be coming for you, and you are coming with us; Alpha Kyren has big plans for you,” they chuckled darkly.

No, she couldn’t go back to that dark cell to be nothing but a plaything for his amusement.

The adrenaline in her rushed to another peak as she let out a growl and stood up, shocking the pair, who dodged her deadly canine attack in the nick of time.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

Elise takes that moment of distraction to race away from them. Even though her vision is distorted, she sees a cave where she settles in. The darkness would be an advantage with her wolf eyes if they dared enter.

“Come out from hiding, princess; you’re making this harder than it should be!” They warned from outside the cave.

Elise answered with nothing but a growl. Daring them to enter, she might be greatly exhausted, but she’d fight tooth and nail before they took her back to that b**d, Kyren.

But just as the males were ready to enter the large, dark cave, they heard the sound of wolves approaching as they both turned to the woods, with Kaide and Tazmin arriving at the scene

“S**t,” one of the males said. As they watched multiple wolves come out of the shadow with snarls and deadly fury as they surrounded them, they were outnumbered by the blood moon pack.
