Chapter 37
"Thank you very much for coming," Ivy said, smiling. She had invited me over to a restaurant so she could apologize properly. I didn't really want to leave the mansion, but I could not turn her down either. Janice once told me that I could jump into fire for anyone who has once helped me and she was right.
Leaving the mansion to come to a public place when almost all the members of the pack hated me took a special kind of courage from me. Though, I had a face cap, a nose mask and a pair of dark shades on, so it was a little hard to tell who I was. I took off the nose mask I was wearing and sat on the chair opposite ours. "You're welcome." I returned her smile. "What do you want to eat? Just tell me. Your lunch is on me."
"I'm sorry, but I'll have to refuse your offer. I'm filled up already. I ate before coming here," I lied. I just wanted her to say what she wanted to say, so I could leave this place fast. I stole a few glances at the door.

Noticing h how tense I was, she smiled and said. "I know the situation you have with the pack members and that is why I chose this restaurant for us to meet. Nobody will dare hurt you here. You can relax. I'm a pack harlot, remember? So, I am kind of an outcast too. I know places I can feel relaxed in and places to avoid." ortable with my environment now. Something still felt off though.

"Let's get to the reason you are here," She continued. She dipped her hands into the bag on the table and brought a small jewelry box. She pushed the box to me and said: "That is yours." "Mine?" Did she get me this? This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Take it as an apology gift. I'm sure he will not remember, but Alpha Leo got me this when we were still together. That was a long time ago though, but since we are no longer together, I feel you should take it. I don't want to have anything that belongs to him again. I threw the keys to your room away and I swear to the moon goddess, I had no idea he was in the room with you, neither did I mean to barge into your room the way I did. It's just that..." Her voice cracked and trailed off. "I am just used to walking into that room whenever I want. I have been doing so for so many years. I know this is coming out wrongly, but I just want to be honest as much as possible. Don't get me wrong. I am over the Alpha though." She smiled. "The both of you look good together. I mean you're both gorgeous and you would both look good with anybody," she paused and threw me a glance. "I'm sorry. I-I just don't really know how to get my feelings out there. I don't know if I have said anything wrong."
I gave her a light reassuring smile.
"I just came here to give you your gift. Please accept it."

I the jewelry box back to her. It just did not feel right. "I'm sorry. I can't accept this. If my mate sees this on me and recognizes this, I don't know how he will feel. I don't want to make him uncomfortable."
I don't know if I had seen wrong, but I could see a look of displeasure on Ivy's face. The look did not last long though. Before I could decipher if I was wrong or not, a smile appeared on her face.
"That's okay. You're such a nice person. I hope Alpha Leo knows how lucky he is to have you. Little wonder Sebastian keeps on trying to get close to you after you distanced yourself from him." Since I was not sure of what to say, I just gave her a small smile and she smiled back.
She reached out to my hands and held. "I don't know how to ask this. If you want to refuse me, you can. No hard feelings. I
don't think I deserve a positive answer from you anyways."
I smiled. "You deserve more than a positive answer. You can ask the anything. If it is within my power, I would definitely do
it."
IL.
She smiled and then took in a deep breath before asking the question.
"Can we be friends?"
It has been days since the Alpha and I reconciled and to be sincere the days have been really blissful. He rarely had time for himself though, but he still made out time to be with me. Like today, I had a date with him and Janice, my beer good friend, was here to help me prepare for the date.
"It's good to see your relationship with the Alpha blossoming," Janice said as she added blush to my face.
I smiled in response.
We were not necessarily lovers yet, but we were very good friends now. At least, that is the way I saw it.
I had not made up my mind on whether I wanted to experience loving someone again.
"I don't know why you don't want to tell me about what you were going through some days back, but it's okay. I'm just happy to have my friend back."
I beamed. "I'm "I'm happy to have my best friend back too."
My phone rang.
It was Ivy calling to tell me that she wanted to visit and she was asking if she could come in.
Janice frowned when she realized that it was Ivy I was talking to. She did not like the idea of me being friends with Ivy one bit.
Of course, when Ivy asked if we could be friends, I could not refuse her.
"Did you seriously tell Ivy about your date with the Alpha?" She asked immediately after I got out of my call with Ivy.
"I did I not. She just wants to pay me a visit."
I
I don't understand what help she rendered that I would not have if you had told me about your problem."
"Just be nice, okay?"
Janice rolled her eyes. "If she does not annoy me too much, I will say nothing rude to her. I won't say anything to her." Well, that was enough for me. At least, I was now sure that there won't be a fight.
There was a soft knock at the door.
Knowing it was Ivy, I rushed to the door and opened it. Janice left my dressing table and went to the couch.
"Oh my, you look gorgeous," She complimented me as soon as she saw me.
"Thank you
"Are you going somewhere important? I can leave if I will be disturbing you in any way."

I shook my head and smiled at her. "No, don't leave. Please come in."
With a smile on her face, she walked in. She bowed her head in greeting to Janice, but Janice ignored her.
I frowned at Janice's behavior, but said nothing.
Seeing that Janice did not acknowledge her greetings, she looked away from Janice, walked to the dressing table, and started to touch some of Janice's make-up items. "Don't touch that," Janice said curtly. "I am but done with her makeup."
Ivy took her hands away from the dressing table and quickly apologized. Janice left the couch for the dressing table and I joined her so she could continue my make up. "That highlighter is a bad one," Ivy said immediately Janice wanted to use her highlighter on me.
"What do you mean?" Janice looked displeased.
"I used the brand once and got skin reactions immediately. I'm just saying though. You can refuse to heed my advice if you want to. But, før the Luna's sake, I think you should." Janice glared at her. "This is not the first time I'm using this highlighter. I can never use something cheap on my friend's face."
I decided to not say anything. Janice was the one who knew about make up products. I knew nothing.

Ivy shrugged and Janice went on to use the highlighter on my face. In less than a minute, my face was covered in big rashes.
Ivy turned out to be right.
"Oh my goddess, Janice. You should have listened to Ivy," I said, frowning. Now, my date with Alpha Leo was ruined. Janice looked like she
had
I just seen a ghost. "But I used this same highlighter yesterday." She turned to Ivy, stormed over to her and grabbed the neck of her clothes. "You must have done something to my highlighter. Everything was okay until you came." I walked over to them and separated them. "Janice, just stop this. If she had listened to Ivy, this wouldn't have happened. I did not mind anyways. I can call Alpha Leo and tell him everything, but accusing Ivy falsely was just too much. "You don't believe me?" Janice looked betrayed. "I don't know what she did, but she definitely did something to my highlighter. She is trying to sabotage your date with the Alpha."
Ivy broke into tears. "I was only trying t to
help."
Janice was my best friend. I could trust her with my life, but I couldn't help but feel she was just being mean. "Janice, stop trying to pin the blame on someone else. I saw what happened and I don't mind. I just feel you should give a listening ear to other people next time." "You know what, I am out of here." She walked over to the dressing table.
"Janice," I called out, hoping that she would just listen to me and sort out things with Ivy.
"Don't Janice me. I always do your makeup, but nothing like this has ever happened. Can't you see what she is trying to do?"
"She's not trying to do anything. She was trying to help, but you did not let her." What I said did not feel right, but why? Ivy was only trying to help, wasn't she?
"Well since you have Ivy's help now, then you should let her help you." She walked out of the room afterwards.
