Chapter 32 FREDA WHITLOCK “What did you just say?” Kaiden questioned like he refused to believe that he had just heard what I said. I took a deep breath and glanced outside of the window before looking back at him. “Kaiden, I don’t want to have this conversation with you. I don’t know what makes you think my son is your son, but you’re mistaken.” I said in a pathetic attempt to sway him away from bothering my child and I. He seemed to be convinced that Francisco was his son now, and I had not helped matters by making him believe that when I said I had been protecting Francisco from him. “You liar,” he growled, taking an aggressive step towards me. I gasped and tried to step backwards but I tripped on my feet. Everything after that seemed to happen in slow motion. The pitcher in my hand slipped out of my grip, fell to the ground and shattered and I was falling right after it. Kaiden’s eyes shifted from anger and widened with worry as he saw me fall. He reached out for me while I scrambled to stop myself from falling. It was impossible. He didn’t reach me in time and I was not able to save myself. I fell and landed on a shard of glass from the broken pitched. I gasped and quickly placed my injured hand over my mouth to stifle a scream of agony. ။ 09 431 Chapter 32 1 The shard had gone so deep into my right arm that I had landed on that I knew it was going to be excruciating. Time seemed to become normal again and Kaiden was instantly. by my side. “Hey hey, are you okay?” He seemed panicked and I wanted nothing more than to shove my fist in his face. Hard. my mouth. Lyra was going to be here any minute because the sound of the pitcher shattering and the loud thud of my body hitting the floor was definitely going to attract her. She hated Kaiden. I knew she despised him. If she saw him beside me while I was on the floor and bleeding, she would lose her mind. She was definitely going to attack him. And while that sounded incredibly pleasing to my ears, I did not want her to get. in trouble for disrespecting the Alphal Kaiden tried lifting me up to my feet and I. fought his grip, s**g my injured arm from him. “Get out.” I said. He looked pained and I looked at him with disgust. “Let me help you, Freda, please,” he pleaded and I glared at him as I clenched my teeth in an attempt to stop the tears that were rapidly filling my eyes. Why? Why was he so good at making me sad all the time? Why was I so softhearted when it came to him? Why was I so weak? How did he make me so weak without even trying? “You’ve done enough help,” I spat, getting up to my feet and cradling my arm. “Freda…” I cut him off. I did not want to hear his voice or my name on his lips again. 72 712 09431 Chapter 32 288 Wouchers “Get the f**k out!” I yelled at him and pointed towards the door. with my free hand. He sighed defeated. He dropped his arms to his side and then walked towards the door. He stubbornly shook his head all of a sudden. Fury flashed through me as he turned around and started walking towards me with a look of determination. What was he doing? “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” I growled at him. He grabbed my left hand in a firm but somehow gentle grip and started pulling me along with him. “Let go of me!” I struggled to get my hand out of his grip but he maintained his hold on me. Lyra’s voice burst through the kitchen just as he pulled me to the living room. “Freda? What’s going on? I heard you yell,” she said as she poked her head into the kitchen.
Her eyes scanned the room with panic because she must have seen the broken pitcher and my blood on the floor. I was still bleeding and this b**d was not willing to let my hand go. I was staining the floor drops of blood. Her eyes landed on us almost immediately and her eyebrows. rose before her eyes lit aflame. “What are you doing here?” She questioned Kaiden and he let out a weary sigh, almost like he was tired of hearing that question. If he was so tired of hearing it, then maybe he should stop showing up here. “Excuse me? I asked a f**g question,” Lyra said as she Chapter 32 2 Vouchers advanced towards us. Oh no, she was mad. Really mad. I could not let her get closer to where we were or she would disrespect her Alpha. My wolf could already tell that his wolf was offended by her tone. “Lyra, it’s fine,” I said with a sigh and she looked at me with a raised eyebrow. “You don’t look fine,” she said and shook her head. “It’s really fine. I was surprised to see him here and I fell and hurt myself. I’ll take care of it,” I said, giving her a pleading look and trying to communicate the fact that I was going to tell her -everything later. She frowned deeply and I let out a sigh. “Please Lyra. Get the punch. I don’t want dad to get worried. I’ll be right outside when I’m done with taking care of it,” I told her. She softened at the mention of my dad- well our dad and then nodded before giving Kaiden a hateful look and turning around to leave. “Thank you,” I spoke out my gratitude and she gave me a nod in return as she fetched a pitcher of punch from the refrigerator. “That was my favorite pitcher,” I heard her mourn as she left the kitchen and went back to the backyard furiously. I let out a sigh of relief and sn**d my hand from Kaiden’s own. I started to head towards the kitchen,

was bleeding. I collapsed… And even though it was relieving to finally be away from the m**l stress and the emotional and physical pain, I hated that I fell into Kaiden’s arms.
